- it seemed much to olive that the girl she was trailing was doing her best to get rid of her with all the turns and twists she was performing. rather than that of trying to focus on keeping up with them and simply ignoring her surrounding, she stopped, a little ticked off over the matter before she noticed someone else seemed to have her back in this case. if something happened to verose, natalie would for sure blame olive but at this rate, olive had little time for games of keep away, it was a waste of energy that could be used for other things. two different men in one day, it seemed rather odd to her that they had not seen them in the days prior on their own scouting trips. honestly, the young woman was a little worried for natalie. she had lured the revived into a building that she hoped the woman knew well, otherwise she had simply trapped herself. if olive had gone, she would have held a similar fate, knowing nothing of the ins and outs of the building she had disappeared into.
gaze focused on the dark skinned male who seemed keen on helping rather than just venturing off, she moved forward, killing as she went and retrieving her lost arrows as best she could. arrows were not in short supply if you could simply find wood and two stones with some twine. in her earlier years, she had learned how to craft them and her interest in long distance weapons seemed to have helped her to this day. her foot was pressed against the chest of a now completely still revived as she yanked out the arrow. with a quick glance around, she continued to venture in the direction she had last seen the man, deciding a little thanks was needed if he was friendly enough. olive had no issue putting a arrow into anyone that dare threatened her life. this was much of a dog eat dog type of world anyway and every now and then she would attempt to help if she could.
the moments where she could not have helped often plagued her, though she made sure no one would know of them. olive had an overall friendly facade going on where she seemed not affected by the dreadful events that lead her to where she was now. when one watched their parents work their way into their own graves and become victims of the revived just to provide for their only living child, well, things could get pretty dark in the mind of the child that was involved. sometimes she did wonder what would have been if her brother had not died of fever at the age of three. a lot of what ifs could really put someone down and lose hope quick without control.
then there were the moments were survival was more important than that of saving another person. those decisions could haunt someone to the point of breaking. between risking your life to save someone too far gone from saving to putting a arrow in your best friend's head after he was bitten trying to show off for you. yeah, olive had a pretty messed up beginning when the world decided to turn the tables on the human race for messing with mother nature. it had its toll. of course not one person knew of any of these things, she made sure not to bring it up and simply work her way forward and forget the past. dwelling on it would harm her more than it would to her any good.
the young woman continued forward until she was within a decent and respectable distance towards any stranger. "friend or foe?" she questioned, as quietly as she possibly could without attracting anymore unneeded attention. that was the last thing that they needed. her bow was down but drawn, ready to move if needed in case william was more of a threat to her than the revived that lingered the streets. the threat of a herd of them seemed to be a dying thought, as they separated and ambled about, a purpose no longer around for them to continue.
