_________________________Baxter had just begun to shuffle through the rubble when he heard a faint growl from Steele that was soon followed by a man's voice. Well...that happened much faster than he had anticipated. Or wanted. With a scoff he pushed himself to a stand and pulled his Beretta from it's holster, not yet cocking it but merely holding it for safety measures. He sat himself on one of the piles of rubble and let out a whistle for Steele, who hurried inside to return to Baxter's side and took up a defensive stance - not necessarily hostile, but fully ready to be just in case. With a sigh the ex-mercenary gazed at the doorway, lazily tapping his gun against this leg. If this stranger was a possible threat he might as well go ahead and face it head on. "For the record, his name is Steele." He called out, his mask of plain boredom as strong as ever.

___________________________Adrianna continued her search for sticks, humming softly as she even took it upon herself to hunt for food when she figured she had enough firewood for the time being. "I should invest some time in looking for a bag or something..." The small woman spoke, mentally making a list of things to keep an eye out for when she returned to town. After a moment she shook her head and realized that she had stopped in her tracks. "C'mon, keep your head in the game!" She scolded herself under her breath, but then noticed that there was someone ahead of her some distance away. Adrianna tilted her head slightly when she saw him wave, a little confused as she was more used to much less polite approaches from strangers. But nonetheless she waved in return and even offered a little smile. "Uh...hi there?"

- Carter peeked out between his paws as he scooted himself back just slightly, instinctively backing away for the simple fact that he didn't know this mutant. And that he had laughed at him just moments ago, there was that too. "...mutant..." He answered finally after some time of silence, removing his paws from his face so he could have a better look at the other canine though didn't move from his position on the ground. "I'm not a full-time dog...I'm also a person." He added, his voice low and soft.
