Grayson "Gray" Bate | Male | 29 | Straight | Location: "Dead" Forest/Outskirts | Mutant | Powers: Heat Vision, Cryokinesis | Crush: None | Tags: Open
Grayson wandered along the edge of the dead forest. The ground was barren except for skeletal tree remains spiking from the soil. The trees looked brittle, as some were, but most of the vegetation had managed to mutate to withstand the sudden and harsh conditions. A few lucky trees were sprouting greens or browns, but the forest itself was either white, black, or gray and seeming devoid of life. All except for Grayson who knelt beside a large based tree as he scanned for life signs. He had been alone for a while, having given up on ever finding his best friend and war buddy. He had also avoided people at all costs because the deceit was beyond fathomable. Grayson never knew if who he was talking to was Mutant or Human, and half the time they wanted to put a bullet through his brain anyway. Grayson was lucky, his powers were not noticeable to an outsider as long as he kept it on the downlow, but even then any groups or loners he did cross paths with avoided him due to his deformity. Grayson figured the only way to survive was on his own and so far he was managing, but the food supplies were dwindling and the higher supply of food was in Human territory, which he was not welcomed in. Gray stood from his post and brushed a gloved hand across the tree where flakes of ashy dust left residue on the leather. He frowned and looked up into the brambly canopy above where the sky was a constant wave of gray. The future was dull indeed. He knew he wasn't completely alone because he had found and saved a young girl named Echo. He had found and saved her just in time to stop the infection in her eye, but not soon enough to save her vision. They had briefly split up in hopes to scavenge some food but Gray was rather useless in hunting compared to Echo. He figured he'd stay put in hopes of finding some food and wait for the return of Echo.
Lennox "Lenny" Ross | Male | 26 | Homosexual | Location: Town | Human | Crush: None | Tags: Open
Lenny stood in front of the remains of a rotting building that was once a grocery store. He had scavenged through the shelves that still stood and managed to find a few cans of soup and canned fruit and veggies. He had bagged the goods before continuing the search before realizing the effort was rather pointless. Most of the food items he had ran across were disintegrated into ash or smelt rancid. Most of the canned goods were in the possession of another being and the only people who could eat well were the doomsday preppers, and Lenny was not one of those. He knew they held great amounts of food, water, medicine, even entertainment, but he was one of the unfortunate that couldn't manage the luxury of living several feet in the ground in a metal box. For some reason the idea just didn't appeal to him. Lenny huffed before kicking an ashy beam that used to hold the store up. Dust burst into the air and he stumbled back from the toxic fume that was released. He pinched his nose before walking away from the nonexistent aisle down another one in hopes of finding medicine.
Ellie Ross | Female | 18 | Pansexual | Location: Outskirts | Mutant | Power: Assassins Blades| Crush: N/A | Tags: Open
Ellie stood on the outskirts where life is just barely beginning to breathe back into the land. She left her sister back in the town where she was safer. Her sister wasn't cursed like she was and part of her was angry, but she also knew how guilty Erion felt and so she tried to ignore the slow bubbling anger in the pit of her stomach. She also knew the two of them were in a tight situation. Erion couldn't survive on her own; Ellie loves her sister to death, but they both know her twin is inadequate in such a destroyed world. The worst part is joining a group is practically impossible. Mutants and humans hate one another and since Ellie refuses to leave Erion alone it leaves just the two of them living further from "society" than before. Ellie's ultimate fear is what if something happens to her, then who will take care of Erion? The notion always gave her nightmares, but there was nothing to truly be done about the situation except hope that Erion's survival skills start to kick in. Ellie frowned and glanced through the forest with her body close to the trees. She had been wandering for a while and was close to the river. They needed food and since Erion couldn't hunt yet, she let her sister eat the canned goods while she went out and found what was edible, if anything. Ellie stretched her arms before flexing her fingers and having claws shoot out. She gripped onto the nearest tree that looked to be able to hold her weight and began to climb up until she was on a sturdy branch near the top. Ellie sat down and swung her legs over, looking over the landscape for prey to hunt.
Erion Ross | Female | 18 | Straight | Location: Town | Human | Crush: N/A | Tags: Open
Erion sat in her tent with a sweatshirt wrapped tightly around her body. She was cold and hoped she wasn't coming down with the flu. She was never the strongest child since academics were her strengths, but now she wished more than anything she had done sports or learned something useful. No one ever teaches you how to survive a nuclear war. She gripped the can of soup in her hand like it was a lifeline and gingerly continued sipping on it. It was chicken noodle and she had just finished attempting to heat it up. It was lukewarm, but that was fine for her. Her fingers felt stiff and as she glanced around the tent she knew they were going to have to find some place safer. The roof was leaking and protection from elements and raiders was practically nonexistent. Erion lifted the can to her lips and slurped, enjoying the sensation and relief of hunger. So far they had managed to avoid most raids, but she knew how awful people were and it was just a matter of time. Humans or not, people seemed to have always been monsters.
Seth Fen & Buckbeak | Male | 24 | Demi/Pan | Location: River | Mutant| Powers: Avian Syncing, Phasing | Crush: N/A | Tags: Buckbeak, Open
Seth stood on the edge of the river and grimaced at how disgusting the water looked. And to think, this was the drinkable water. He held back a gag before bending down and lowering his water bottle into the stream, watching it flow and fill his canister. He knew how careful everyone, human and mutant, had to be so as to not completely dwindle their water supply. Seth knows the moment the river becomes too low he is taking Buckbeak and flying to a new land. He had hopes that some places were better, maybe they had greenery and fruit and vegetables and animals to eat rather than whatever he managed to scavenge up now. The water bottle was full so he lifted it from the river and screwed on the cap before placing it in his pack and staring into the flowing water. His eyes were pitch black and he looked much older than he was. His hair was just as dark except for a bright blond streak that ran from the front of his head. Seth always knew life was hard, but he was starting to wonder if maybe the world was just a huge joke and he was the punchline. Wiping the stress from his eyes, he looked up and watched from across the river the endless expanse of nuclear land.
(I'm thinking Grayson and Lenny haven't found each other, but Gray and Echo can be a duo)
