Long live the revolution! These words echoed off the empty streets from villagers old and young as they march for their freedom. The kingdom of Celebrith is a vast trade town tucked away in the heart of a large mountain range. It is well known for its expansive railroad systems that run right through the middle of town as well as their work mining ore and other precious metals. In recent year, the monarchy has slipped into the grips of greed and corruption. The once loved Celebrith family now is hated by the people because of their brutal, merciless punishments and relentless push to continue mining the mountains despite the horrible work conditions. The whispers of a rebellion as spread like wildfire through the masses and have reached the ears of the king. The once quiet streets of Celebrith has now turned into a battlefield for anyone who dares speak up against the mad king. Men, women, and children all face the wrath of war as the number of casualties increases with each passing day. Desperation and destruction go hand-in-hand as the loyal servants of the king slaughter those who oppose.

But not all is lost. The rebellion is in desperate need to turn the tide of battles to favor themselves. The crown has employed expert alchemists to create devasting weapons that kill with ease. But the revolution has something up their sleeves as well. In the lovely mountain forests that surround the kingdom lies creatures of ancient legends. These beings hold some mythical abilities like magic or stealth. From the multitude hidden from the human eye, few have stepped forward to help the villagers in hopes they will preserve their diminishing homelands. And they hold a secret that is even the king cannot believe is real. Dragons. With the help of the ancient woodland creatures and their undying bravery, can the people of Celebrith take back their homes and restore order to the corrupt kingdom?

Rules

Tess's Rules Please reread over the Chickensmoothie site's rules if you aren't familiar with this. I rather not get in trouble.

Literacy This isn't in the semi-lit catagory, so I won't ask for that. But I will ask you write no less than three sentences.

Character Limits There is not limits on how many characters you are allowed to have BUT for now you cannot have more than 2 mythical beings. Humans are unlimted unless they become dragon riders.

Dragons Dragons are rare- so not every human will get one. To be a dragon rider, you must start off as a human. No one will start with a dragon. If you want a dragon for your character, please put the word 'dragon' in the other section of your form.

Forms Created your own or follow mine! I don't need anything fancy. Please put all of them in the discussion thread with all OOC.

Respectful I would love there to be drama, romance, etc but we must remain respectful of each other. Please converse with people before doing anything to their characters and all major plot points need to be run by me first.

No Godmoding, Mary-sues, Gary sues This should be self-explainatory. If you have a question about your character- please feel free to pm me!

My Rights I reserve the rights to add rules or allow people to join.

You have 3 warnings and then I will ban you from this roleplay. Your character will die and you will not be allowed to interact with anyone.

Bans!

Lets keep this empty!

Lore! Setting!

Postby BlameableAmish » Mon Sep 03, 2018 4:53 am

There are a few mythical beings who easily offer their services to the humans in exchange for humans leaving their forests and mountain ranges alone. (I may add more)

Species

Dragons These beasts haven't been seen in centuries but they do exist in hiding. If you come across an older dragon, their fury is like no other and death would surely follow. However, if you are able to bond with a younger dragon or hatch one from an egg- you are bonded for life. This bond allows you to communicate emotions to each other for better understanding. When you feel pain- the dragon will too and vice versa. All dragons have scales harder than any material known to humans as well as the ability to breathe fire- through some need time to master that skill. The weaknesses of this creature lie in the thin membrane of its wings and fleshy underbelly. Also, if their bonded one is killed- they will give up and die with them.

Elementals Elementals are humanoid beings who have control over one element they are akin to. This could include fire, air, earth, water, etc. Their strength is increased with age and practice- leaving the elders very powerful but old and their youths weaker but eager. They start off slow with their training by simply shifting the element they are in control of before moving to more difficult tasks. Each elemental must draw upon their akin element but cannot create it from thin air. Their weakness is they are mortal in every sense of the word and can die as easily as a human.

Faries These beings are very mischevious by nature. In popular belief, they are tiny little humanoid beings with small wings but in reality, they can look like whatever they wish. They are magic to the core and their greatest strength is the ability to glamour. They can look like anything they have seen before by simply willing it to happen. But this costs a great deal of magic depending on the size of the glamour or how different it is from their natural form. More experienced fairies tend to hold glamours for much longer and will not push themselves to the point of exhaustion. Their biggest weakness is to iron. One touch of the metal can render a fairy completely useless- which is why they avoid going into the kingdom that is full of the blasted stuff.

Humans Humans are as common as a shell in the ocean. Though they lack any mythical abilities, they have a lot going for them. They have compassion and bravery unseen by many of the beings in the forests. They have a willingness to learn and led with strength and grace. Most involved in the rebellion aren't trained by a military per se but they are good with weapons of their own making. They are the glue that holds the alliance among the creatures together and they alone are the only ones who can bond with a dragon. Their weaknesses are vast but it's their strengths that make them valuable.

Mages Mages are humans exiled from their home in the kingdom due to their affinity with magic. When learning about their abilities, they take a vow that they will harm none with their magic. Some do not follow this vow but most refuse to use their powers to harm others. Those who listen to the vow has protective magic like barriers or a spell to increase the strength or speed of another person. Others use blood magic that can hurt others as well as the mage. Their weakness is their inability to harm others without first harming themselves and the finite amount of magic they can use.

Other I'll be open to more suggestions of creatures or humanoids. If you do want something different from what is stated here- please PM me first. I will only allow beings that will fit into this world.

Shamans Similar to mages, shamans are humans who shown affinity for magic at an early age. They draw their magic and knowledge from their god/goddess and it allows them to heal others. It is possible for shamans to know other magic as well depending on their deity however almost all are healers of some sort. Their weakness is that their magic comes at a price no matter what. Whether that be they take on the injuries they heal or they lose part of their own lives to help another.

Shapeshifters These humanoids have the ability to shift into their spirit animal at any given time. These spirit animals usually consist of creatures from the forest but on rare occasions, rare beasts have emerged. In human form, they are heightened senses and flexibility despite not being in their animal form. They heal slightly faster depending on the injury and their metabolism is increased- causing them to eat more. In animal form, they are slightly larger than a normal being and much faster. Not all have complete control of their animal instincts both in human and animal form. Their weaknesses is they are still able to be killed easily and silver hurts them more than any other metal.
