"Kayn, please" Her pleading voice murmured as her body moved as if she were a puppet. Kayn's grasp on her physical form was beginning to wane, and he would be unable to stop her from taking back over momentarily.
'Why? You know why we have to do this. If I don't do something with you, you'll be killed by the drak'keth. Even I wouldn't be able to save you; they have no corporeal form. All they are meant to be is wraiths; at first, you will see a gentle soul who will ask you to come with her. If you resist....' Kayn trailed off, moving to the corner of her mind.
"Don't leave me hanging, Candy Kayn." Immediately she felt a blistering heat as his angered soul pressed to the front of her mind. She was growing used to the blistering heat inside her mind, and his anger no longer phased her as much as it did when she was a younger child.
'They are nothing to joke about, you imbecile... If you ignore the gentle spirit, she sends her wolves after you. After they chase you down, they rip your soul apart. Imagine the pain you feel on Earth, in your physical body. Your physical body blocks some of the pain... But if your soul is shredded? It's worse than any pain you could possibly imagine.' Immediately tears sprung to her eyes, remembering exactly how Kayn showed her to reap her Mother's soul from the lifeless corpse and destroy it.
'There there, little dove.' Kayn attempted to soothe her, and it only partially comforted her. Despite him having forced her to kill her family, she still cared for the voice inside her head. He was the only friend she had, despicable as he was. '...Part of me does regret making you do such a thing so early, but the first kill has to happen early for a demon. Since you're half angel... I'm not quite sure how to deal with you.'
"What do you mean..?" She whispered, unsure of whether or not she wanted to hear the answer.
'What I mean is that demons live off of the souls they kill. Instead of deriving sustenance from flesh, they absorb the souls of the fallen. If the soul is intact, it goes to paradise. If not, it vanishes. Since my soul is bound to yours for now, I will not need any sustenance other than you.'
She blushed momentarily before catching herself, shaking her head to clear the mental image.
'As an Angel's soul created half of you, I presume you don't need to feed off of the dead just yet, but eventually you will have to. Don't think I didn't notice how weak you felt. You will have to reap very soon, little dove. It will kill you if you don't, or cause you to lose control.'
"Guess I'll die trying." She shrugged, ramming Kayn's soul out of control of her body. She continued walking down the pathway, hoping that Kayn had led her in the right direction for the dorms.
Of course, that would be too easy for someone with a sadistic and apparently parasitic demon living inside them, so naturally she wound up lost.
With a shriek of irritation she threw herself down on a bench and prayed someone would come to her rescue.
