David lifted his head upon hearing the approach of another. His face went to normal, he held no emotion and he actually looked quite content with himself. He turned and looked towards Cinder and Mavis and offered them a gentle smile, as if his presence in the hall had no unhappy vibe whatsoever.
"Oh please.. don't be so formal with me. We're mutual, you can call me David. Just David, please." he said aloud to Cinder, pushing himself off the wall and sticking his hands into his front pockets to slowly walk towards the two and stand idly in front of them. He was happy to be talking with his fellow lost kids again. His eyes flicked to Mavis and he grinned at her, waving a hello to her before looking back towards the adult.
His mind clicked, then slowly began to process as he watched Cinder. He wasn't sure what the child meant about 'the wolf' but he was, in time, sure to find out.
"What can I do for you two? Anything the matter? Jazmine's resting right now so how about.. we take this matter somewhere else?" he asked and tried to direct the two down the hall or down the stairs.
It was up for Cinder to decide the direction

Mishka smiled at her reaction to him wanting her bed made and room cleaned. It was amusing how much kids hated making their room clean. He was always taught that if he didn't make his bed in the morning he would not fall asleep at night because a messy room lead to a messy mind, and would keep him up. He still, somewhat, believed that to this day. The man had time to walk upstairs to his room and change, only coming back downstairs for his shoes. While he sat on a chair in the dining room, hunched over his own foot, Leelah came back down and asked about the forest.
He looked up at her from tying his shoe and blinked a few times
"The forest?" he replied, making a face and sitting over what she had said. It didn't seem at all safe, considering what had happened just earlier. Perhaps now that he was in his human form he'd be able to stop anything from happening, before it happened.
"I guess so. A simple hike would not hurt. You make sure you are warm enough, okay? Is nice out but still chilly sometimes."
He raised an eyebrow at her, as if it wasn't a suggestion for her to grab a jacket just in case. He was going to grab one too.
He leaned back over his leg and began to tie his other shoe on.

Kristian nodded and began to think of the things he could bring to this mission. A few of his guns, handcuffs, he had only encountered a few lost kids so perhaps he should bring his 'a game'.
The man began to walk again, and gestured for Riley to join him as he began to slowly, walk down the sidewalk. With each step a more sophisticated air came about him. He liked being a peacekeeper and sometimes just knowing he had the power to control so many things went to his head.
He was smiling to himself as Riley asked him about his 'list'
Honestly he didn't have one but if he did, the grey haired guy would be first on it. He got away with the small child weeks earlier. He had yet to see him resurface in the crowds.
"I'm sort of just.. valking around town. As I see it, coverage is key. I vant to make sure I get around town to make myself known. Besides your run in vis zhe leader ze ozzer day, zhere have been no ozzer reports of violence. I need to make sure nobody else can get hurt."
He sighed and looked to the horizon, stuffing his hands in his pockets with a light shrug
"But I'm not focusing on finding anybody specific. Maybe von person, but I doubt I'm going to see him again. Perhaps.. I may see him vhen ve go after zhe lost kids at night. Vhich.. reminds me, I'll have to contact zhe ozzer keepers to see if zhey vant in on zis action." he chuckled to himself

Leelah nodded. "Yeah, be right back." She rushed upstairs and rummaged through her dresser, grabbed her bright blue jacket, then ran back downstairs. She looked at Mishka, then went out the back door without waiting for him. Leelah turned and walked backwards while grinning at Mishka. "Race ya into the woods!"

Nathan took the city bus to the popular coffee shop downtown. He grabbed a chai latte and a bagel, then sat down at a booth to eat his breakfast. He started work here as a barista in half an hour, but the only bus that took him here left early in the morning, too early for breakfast. Nathan ate slowly, taking his time, and surveyed his surroundings and the city waking up.

Cinder awkwardly smiled at the co-leader. “Of course. Sorry si-.. I mean David.” She tripped over her words and looked away for a moment. At times, her people skills were garbage. Cinder held Mavis close and stepped away from Jazmine’s door, “Is everything okay with Jazmine? It doesn’t seem normal for her to be asleep this late.” She walked down the hall and turned around to face David. “I thought I’d inform you about a potential threat in the forest that we encountered last night.” She gestured to her wrapped arm. “Mavis got out into the forest last night and was attacked by some sort of wolf. It was attacking Mishka as well and then attacked me. It was different from normal animals though. I would know as I listen to them daily. It wasn’t just protecting itself. It kept coming after us and trying to kill us. Eventually, I got it to retreat but was unable to pursue it since I needed to get Mavis to safety. Now that my energy has somewhat returned, I was planning on tracking the creature today to ensure it doesn’t hurt anyone else. I thought you would want to know so that you could ensure no one else goes into the forest until it is confirmed to be safe.” She shifted Mavis on her hip as she finished speaking.

.: Riley Novak ~ 16 ~ Peacekeeper ~ (Bloomedish) Humanoid ~ Tags: Kristian:.
She sighed for a moment watching as he waved her to follow. She hated being told what to do. She had other things on her mind then listening to him talk. But she forced herself to listen to him talk about catching the kids. But if they were kids couldn't they learn to control it. Shouldnt it be r as ther simple to use them as an advantage rather then treat them like a threat. Riley had to think about that all things considering she was looking to be more and more like them. She didn't like that. She moved her feet and walked besides him now. "I don't think they will move any time soon. Not with the leader down for the count. They will need time to gather back together. And this is the prefect time to find them." She said simply raising her arms slightly as she spoke. She watched his behavior. She never spent much time with Kristian, but she could see a few red flags catching up with her. She heard his talk about getting more peacekeepers involved. She coughed softly clearing her throat. "I think we should see if we can find anything first, before adding more people. Itll just mucky things up." She spoke quickly glancing around to be on guard they were in the middle of the city but that doesnt mean they won't attack. Riley knew her day was coming. She attacked the Leader and her days could very well be very numbered.

Jude happily walked around the city. She had gotten use to hiding and moving to stay undetected. She had been lost in the city for so long. She had been moving through the streets when she found a 5 dollars lying on the ground. She moved to pick it up and smiled. She knew what she wanted to do with it. She wanted hot chocolate. Shes heard of it but never had the chance to experience it. So she went to the coffee shop she passed all the time downtown. Walking in there was a little more people there then she would gave liked but she took a deep breath and walked to the counter trying to get the barista to look at her instead of the taller people behind her.

Mavis listened quietly to the two. She didnt know David, so she didnt really say anything. She was too scared to. She didnt want to make those in front of her annoyed. Then decided to speak regardless of the fear. "Who'll mind me when you're gone Cinder?" She asked. She git a little nervous. "Mishka and I arent friends anymore. " She added. It was a mistake. She didnt mean to, but it happened. She put her head against Cinder frowning

David moved down the hall, following Cinder and stood away from Jazmine's door. He had forgotten that not everybody knew of what happened to her. Perhaps that was the best way to get two birds with one stone.
He sat there and listened about the threat in the forest, being a wolf that had attacked innocent children. He was concerned, but curious at the same time.
He lifted his head, beginning his turn to speak
"When you go out there, I don't want you to go alone. Take somebody with you who will help you survive this second encounter. If the wolf comes back to attack you, I wouldn't want you to get hurt." he explained
"It does sound like a hostile shifter.."
His train of thought was derailed by Mavis who had spoken up, and he turned to listen to her with a tilted head. He didn't understand what.. she had said, or why, but turned back to Cinder
"Jazmine also got hurt. She is badly wounded by an attack with a peacekeeper and will be resting. I've been appointed leader." he said aloud
"But please be careful when you go out. Please come back to me telling me if everything is safe and I will make sure to keep everyone inside from now on."

Mishka was done tying his other boot on by the time Leelah came downstairs with her jacket. He smiled, happy to see that she listened to him. He stood up and walked over to the door to grab his jacket and shrug it on. It only took a second, she was out the door and smiling at him outside. It looked like such a nice day out, he narrowed his eyes at her and grinned before following suit, shutting the door closed behind him. He gave her a head start, but then began to run after her. He wasn't built for running long distances, rather shorter ones at great bursts of speed. He looked like a freight train coming at you full steam, barreling towards you without breaks. He was smiling though, racing Leelah through the woods.
Amazing how such a large man could pull off running, even with a very very damaged leg.
He'd do anything for children. Even if it meant being in pain just to make them smile.

Kristian glanced over at her as she spoke. She had a point, and he wondered if he should at least listen. She spoke with such confidence, and it sort of scared him a little bit. Normally conversations like this did not end very well. He had a history of attacking people at this time.
"Correct me if I'm wrong.." he said with a short laugh, stopping his walking to look over at the girl with wide eyes. He looked upset, but not angry
"But it sounds like you know somezhing I don't."
He watched her as his smile slowly turned to a frown, his eyes narrowed just a little bit. It sounded to him, Riley was leading him into a trap.
"I'm going to add more people. I'm going to bring more peacekeepers vhis me. Ze lost kids are everyvhere, ve vill need all ze help ve can get."

"I met a peacekeeper too! Her name was Riley. She tried take me. I just ran away, Mishka knows about it, he said not to bother you too. But Riley had powers too; and I have her cuffs! I threw them in the bin though. I could probably find them if you want." She wanted to tell them after she heard about Jazmine getting hurt. "Can I keep her company when Im getting better too? I met her when I first came here, and she wont be as busy now cause youre leader." Mavis realized maybe it was time to shut up because she'd probably annoy the leader

Cinder nodded. “I’ll try to find someone to go with. Unfortunately, a lot of the defenders are busy right now. Besides, it’s already bit me once. It won’t happen again.” Cinder looked down at her injured arm for a moment. Mavis began speaking and Cinder listened carefully to ensure that she didn’t say something she wasn’t supposed to. Upon hearing the news of Jasmine, Cinder paled. “What? How serious is it? Is she stable? How did this happen? I can set out immediately to try to secure the threat if you need me to.” Her head whirled with questions and the thought of what could have done such a thing to their leader. To be so bad that David had to step in. Eventually, she managed to calm her head and turned to Mavis. “Mavis, Jasmine needs to rest by herself for now. You being there may prevent her from getting proper rest which is what she needs to heal right now.” She looked back up to David. “I’m sorry. I know that you and her work closely together. Please let me know if there is anything I can do to help.”

David shook his head while listening to her. Of course all the defenders were busy. He wasn't busy, if he wasn't leader he would have gone with her. He sat there and calmly listened to Mavis speak up about almost being taken by a peacekeeper with.. powers. It was surprising to say the least. Mavis had need not to worry about him being annoyed since it was actually impossible to annoy him.
But he turned back to Cinder to explain what he could
"Cinder I want you to take someone with you," he began "You can't just go out without thinking. Take a hunter with you if you need it, or one of the stronger caretakers. Just take.. somebody with you."
He sighed and rubbed his chin, trying to take this all in. They very clearly weren't safe.. they needed to secure the threat in the forest and come back, so that he could make some sort of announcement to everyone. He couldn't have people running around and getting into trouble anymore..
"Jazmine will be fine by herself.. for now make sure the children are safe and go out to secure the threat. It would be best if you let me know when you get back."

Cinder nodded. “Yes sir. I’ll try to find someone.” In her head, she really didn’t want to. She didn’t want anyone else to risk getting hurt. Plus, she hated relying on other people. Right now, there were a lot of threats in the forest and it greatly worried her. “I’ll set out as soon as I can and will try to find the shifter.” She looked to Mavis. “I’ll see if I can find a caretaker that can stay with you until I get back. Since taking you with me is absolutely out of the question.” Cinder yawned once, dog tired from the previous night. Dark circles sat below her eyes and she hadn’t had an opportunity to change her clothing since getting back from the forest. “Is there anything else you need me to do before I set out?” She asked David. “I’ll try to see if I can reason with the humanoid. Hopefully they were only scared. You know I don’t like killing loners if I don’t have to. Maybe I can convince them to join us. If there really is a peacekeeper with an ability out there, we could use all the help we can get.” The thought of possibly running into those peacekeepers while in the forest occurred to her. However, she’d have to cross that bridge when she got there.
