Echo - 16 - Heterosexual - Female - Single - Power: Hexes - Location: Forest - Tags: Artemis, Tommy

Echo smiled back at Tommy and nodded her head when he turned to look at her. She noticed how Artemis seemed to be assessing her and internally wanted to crawl into a hole. Yet another peacekeeper was trying to turn her in and she was in an incredibly vulnerable spot. Only this time, she was in the middle of the city. Not in the forest where it is easy to disappear. No, this place was infested with humans and peacekeepers that could easily overtake her. She lacked stamina and could only use her ability for so long without draining all of her energy. Without her ability, she was just a small 16 almost 17 year old. Tommy. We need to get out of here. Or at least I need to get out of here. Echo took her eye off of Artemis in an attempt to come across as less threatening and instead focused on Tommy and then to the end of her hoodie. She began fidgeting with the seam, listening carefully to Tommy and Artemis talk. When the topic switched back over to peacekeepers, Echo seized the opportunity."You peacekeepers and your peacekeeper business. I'm not peacekeepers and I've never been that interested in being one. I should probably head out anyways. I'll let you two discuss all that stuff." and she began walking past Artemis to get out of the apartment and hopefully run for it.

Joey Fletcher/ 17 / Male /
Form: Human Location: Shoe store Tags: Rio

Joey noticed Rio slipping out the backdoor, and took that as his cue to escape. He darted towards the front door, which someone was holding open to allow the other patrons to flee. The tiny dog dashed out onto the sidewalk and across the street.

He ran into the park, slowing as he approached the obscure meeting spot. Joey shifted back, grinning at his own antics. Now he just had to wait for Rio.

Malour

Holding out the necklace, Malour glanced at the stone. "It's pretty." She commented, admiring the beautiful colors. "Where did you find it?"

Jackie

Jackie smiled as Jane took her hand, glad that he seemed perkier again. "What kind of snack should we get?" She asked, keeping up with his pace the entire way.

xxxxxrio ran a hand through his short hair, eyes darting around. he half jogged towards the meeting place, pairs of shoes bumping his left hip with each stride. the loss of adrenaline was making him feel worn out. cursing, he glanced around and quickly sped up. was it safe to shift? his fingers came up to touch his tattoo automatically. it still wasn't safe. anyone could be watching. finally, he saw a flash of tan in the park. "joey!" he called as quietly as he could, uncertain if the other humanoid had heard him. he probably looked suspicious with shoes hanging from his clenched fists by the shoelaces. Catching sight of Joey again, he realized the younger had shifted back. after what seemed like ages (to rio), the older humanoid placed his free hand on joey's shoulder. "joey, you got out okay?"

“I know it’s also your job, and I don’t know anyone who would put themselves in danger...” Artemis noticed that Echo looked nervous, and how she said Peacekeeper probably one too many times.
So when she found a way out, she decided to kinda follow.
(Sorry it’s kinda short, I’m busy rn but I’ll try to type something longer later)

He reached the base of the trunk quickly and met the girl face to face.

“T-thanks...I actually found it by a river nearby...honesty it was probably something someone lost a long time ago. I just kept it...”

He hoped he didn’t say too much, or ask why he was kinda farther out into the forest: today or when he was by the river.

Tommy nervously watched Echo, and how she spoke about peacekeepers, especially how she wasn't interested in being one. He knew Artemis definitely found this suspicious if even Tommy felt uneasy about it. He watched as Echo started to leave, looking nervously from Artemis to her. "Wait- I'll walk you home." He offered with a smile, catching up to her. He would just let her leave if he didn't catch the suspicion in Artemis' gaze. Artemis could easily turn Echo in, especially if he wasn't there. Tommy was extremely nervous, and doing a pretty good job of hiding it despite everything. "You'll have to remind me where you're staying though." He said to Echo, looking down at her. He then looked at Artemis and cast her a smile. "Thanks for checking on us, but I think we're okay."

Artemis stopped as Tommy offered to walk Echo home. Even though she had her suspicions, she knew she had to trust Tommy. He was a peacekeeper too. Surely he wouldn’t harbor a humanoid, right?

But she swore that if he was, he definitely would regret it.

“Yea, no problem. If you see anything of the sorts, try to get in touch with me, alright?”

Echo froze when Tommy offered to walk her home. The heck Tommy. No, no, no. If he's smart, he'll wanna drop all associations with me as soon as possible. "Tommy that's really not needed. You should stay and catch up with Artemis. We've been together all day. I'm completely capable of going myself. The hotel I'm staying at isn't that far off anyways." She prayed that there was a nearby hotel. Otherwise, that would be a dead giveaway. "Anyways, I should really get going. See you guys later." Echo waved and quickly brushed past Artemis. She stiffened as she bumped her injured shoulder accidentally on the peacekeeper. Pain seared through her arm and Echo clenched her hands, doing her best to not show any pain. "Sorry about that." she managed to say before slipping out the door and walking briskly for the exit to the apartment. She opened the door and ducked outside, squinting her eyes as the sun greeted her. Almost to the forest. Almost to the forest.

Joey instinctively jerked back from the other's touch. He seemed to realize what he did a second later, and his cheeks reddened a little. He knew it was incredibly rude, but he couldn't help it. He took a while to trust people, and he didn't like being touched by people he didn't entirely trust.

"Uh, yeah, I made it fine," He said, seeming a bit deflated now. "What'd we get?"

Tommy stopped and hesitated, but nodded slowly as Echo spoke. While he wanted to protect her, he seemed to forget she was a humanoid who was very capable of handling and protecting herself. He watched her go, a little sad that their pleasant conversation had to end so abruptly. He turned to Artemis and smiled at her, still a little nervous. "So uhhh.. have you.. found anything interesting lately? Any humanoids?" He asked, shutting his apartment door. He figured he'd talk with Artemis for a little bit, maybe distract her and make her forget about Echo. Not only for Echo's safety, but his own. If anyone found out he had a humanoid in his apartment, there'd be an absolute witch hunt, especially since he was a peacekeeper.
