As he took in the man, Asher determinated that he was for sure a humaniod. And the way he talked. It almost seemed like it wasn’t...well human at all.

Asher kept his guard up as he looked around for anyone too close to them. Hoping the coast was clear, he shifted back into his human form and allowed himself to slide down the roof and land on on the ground safely. He took the feather he was holding and put it in his pocket instead of his hood like usual, just in case he needed a quick escape.

Jackie read all the rules tacked onto Jazz's door, and nodded at each one. "Yeah, these rules all make sense!" She considered Jazz's other words for a moment, and said, "Do the Caretakers take care of the younger ones? I can do that, I love little kids! Mainly 'cause I'm like one myself......." Jackie giggled sheepishly, then added, "Um.........I don't know who I wanna bunk with yet. I think I'll meet a few people around here first!" She turned back to Jane, who seemed to be shouting suddenly. Her face adopted a look of confusion, and she called out, "Jane? Are you OK? Hey, Jane!?" She tapped his shoulder, wondering what was wrong and why he was shouting.

Tommy, upon wandering the park for several minutes and not finding anything of substance, decided it may be better to look in a less busy area. He assumed that humanoids were still intelligent, and wouldn't just be in plain sight, especially if something about their appearance was off. He started walking in a general direction, eyes still peeled as they often always were. While it was a nice day weather-wise, constant walking and little to no breeze left him feeling warmer. As a result he tucked the few pieces of hair in his face right behind his ears, and silently wished he had a hairband. Though, he didn't mind the walk. It was actually incredibly nice to get out and explore the small parts of the city he hadn't seen before. It didn't take too long for him to emerge out from the concrete jungle, and into a luscious and woodsy forest. He stopped just beyond the trees, looking them up and down, and pondering on whether it was a good idea to explore such a maze of trees. Tommy looked back behind him at the city, and compared the enormous skyscrapers to the giant trees whose roots entangled at his feet. It really was such a contrast. He came to the conclusion that he already walked all this way, and this seemed interesting to say the least, he might as well just go in. Just... remember which way you came from. He told himself before extending a foot and entering the area. It was beautiful, and green, and perfectly lit by the sun. Even if he didn't get anything out of this, he was at least grateful for experiencing such a beautiful place. Though he tried not to stay distracted, and as he went deeper, he kept a keen eye out for anyone or anything that may be of interest.

xxxxxrio let out a short, cut off caw as panic as he spread his wings and shot up, loosing sight of echo as he scanned for whatever could have made the noise. had someone seen her? still slightly cautious, he finally settled near the trunk on a decently thick tree branch, letting himself relax and shift back. the colorful feather tattoo on the side of his neck prickled and he winced as he laid his palm against it. his body felt heavier in his human form and the cool metal of his tongue piercing clicked against the insides of his teeth as his chest heaved, the fear still not so shaken off. his neck stretched in an effort to catch a glimpse of the girl, but he did not see even a hair on her head. slumping against the tree, rio ran a hand down his face. he was careful to leap from the tree and begin to walk along slowly, echo's occasional footprint in a patch of mud or flattened grass getting further and further apart as he followed. at this rate, she was going to bump into someone else, someone who would care more than rio as to why she was alone in the forest..

Echo - 16 - Heterosexual - Female - Single - Power: Hexes - Location: Forest - Tags: Rio, Tommy

Echo raced along the forest floor, keeping her right arm extended to ensure she didn't crash into anything on her blind side. She heard the noise again, someone was definitely moving through the forest and Echo had no interest in finding out who it was. Unfortunately, those kids weren't the only people that had intruded her space. Another figure was slowly moving through the forest that Echo hadn't noticed yet. At least, not until she crashed straight into him. Echo let out a startled yelp when she slammed right into the body of a larger man. He appeared to only be a few years older than her. The girl lost her footing and fell to the side, scraping up her right arm on a sharp piece of bark in the process. The breath had been knocked out of her and she slowly got up, trying to catch her breath. There before her, stood yet another person. Her cover was blown and Echo was desperately trying to look at her options. Blood dripped down her arm from the cut and she kept it more behind her body. As always, she kept her head turned more to the left to ensure she could see him fully. If it wasn't necessary, she wouldn't use her ability to fear that she would get turned in. Instead, she'd have to use her knife. Echo looked the guy up and down. He's larger than me. Probably stronger physically too. Perfect. Where's that macaw when you need a distraction... Slowly, Echo began to back away in the hopes that no confrontation would take place. However, the thought seemed unlikely.

As Tommy ventured deeper and deeper into the forest, he began hearing things. His brows furrowed as he tried to listen harder. He wasn't too worried, as this was the forest, and many creatures and animals lived here. It could be a deer, rabbits, anything really. Tommy came to the conclusion that it was nothing other than wildlife, although as soon as that conclusion was reached, a mass way larger than any rabbit he'd witnessed clambered into him. His breath hitched and he froze in place, not moving much though, as he was larger than whatever had crossed his path. Blinking sporadically for a second, his gaze fell to the woman in front of him who, in the midst of it all, had fallen and scraped her arm something fierce on a sharp piece of bark. "O-oh god, I'm-" He paused to study her arm, not even considering that she may be a humanoid, but instead just worried about her well-being. "I'm sorry, if you follow me back to the city I'm sure I can help you fix that up." he offered. That was when he realized.. what was she doing in the middle of the forest alone? Suspicions rose, but he'd stay silent just for now. She already seemed scared enough, he didn't want to throw accusations in her face.

xxxxxrio paused when he heard the soft, muffled sound of voices not to far off. was it that girl? did she have a friend? was she a threat after all? he took care to lurk threw some underbrush until he could see two people. noticing that neither were at least looking his way, his arms shot up and he quickly heaved himself onto the safety of a high branch veiled with leaves. a tangy, almost copper smell smacked him in the face and he realized the girl had blood on her still. remembering she had wiped the rabbit blood in the stream, he felt himself stiffen. had that man caused her to bleed so badly? rio scraped him mind to match his face to one he knew, although he couldn't. was he even a humanoid as well? he stretched as far as he could without falling and waited for the girl's response to the last part of the man's sentence, which he had to strain to hear. okay, maybe he wasn't a threat.. but something about him was off. it gave rio the chills.

Echo - 16 - Heterosexual - Female - Single - Power: Hexes - Location: Forest - Tags: Rio, Tommy

Echo watched the stranger warily, sizing him up the entire time. Various ways on how she could escape or at least gain some type of upper hand played through her head. Her options were slim though unless she used her ability. The more she thought about it though, the more Echo realized that running was more suspicious than actually talking. Composing herself, Echo sucked in her breath. "It's fine. I can take care of it myself." the girl spoke softly, wincing internally at how awful and raspy her voice still sounded. Hopefully it would just pass as a cold or something like that. Now she was scrambling for something that could make her being out here alone less suspicious. Maybe she could avoid the subject altogether. Although, there was no doubt he was questioning what she was doing out here alone. "What are you doing out here alone. It's dangerous to be out here alone if you don't know your way around." Echo began. A few different possibilities on what he might ask her in return ran through her mind and she managed to come up with a plausible answer for each one. My parents live on the edge of the city. I was taught to hunt in these woods at a young age which is why I know my way around. Was out trying to grab some game for dinner. Was running in pursuit of a deer that I had seen. At least now, she was somewhat prepared. Echo winced and shook out her injured arm in an attempt to alleviate the pain that was now starting to set in. The fact that her heart was about to pound out of her chest did not help the throbbing sensation. Turning her attention back to the stranger, Echo maintained her poker face. Any other sign of fear might also give her away.

Tommy furrowed his brows as he listened to her, studying her frame. She seemed a little small to be out here alone, then again, he shouldn't be making such accusations. He nodded slightly and crossed his arms. Her next question elicited a laugh from him "Well, I'm a peacekeeper, and this is a part of my job. I have to find humanoids and bring them back to the city." He told her, watching for any sign of a change in her face or stature. He was definitely suspicious, but careful about how he approached this. "So, I'll ask you the same question. Why are you out here alone?" He asked, cocking his head in question. Not only did he have to play his cards right not to scare her away, but also, if she were a humanoid, what kind of "magic" could she do on him? He could get seriously hurt in this situation, but it was all apart of his job. He tried to stand tall, and seem assertive, but also un-aggressive.

xxxxxrio's head shot up, hitting the branch above him harshly. he scrambled to collect his thoughts as he watched the girl converse with the man. peacekeeper. she has to keep her cool. sucking his bottom lip into his mouth, he furrowed his eyebrows. he had a plan, a stupid plan, that would only work if he played his cards right and this girl played along. he kind of felt like it was his own fault that she met a peacekeeper. if he could just slip down from his tree and casually walk over, maybe claim to be her older brother... except, the vibrantly colored tattoo on the side of his neck would make him seem suspicious. they didn't really even look related. adopted. a better plan, if the man even asked. but he was uncertain of how the girl would react to the other man, so he slipped from the tree and took a few paces forward, his lean frame barely hidden. one move and he was done for. for now, he'd just keep watching.
