Cal kept his grip on his sling for his katana tight, his ears trained to pick up the slightest movements in the forest. He felt on edge-something seemed off. They hadn't seen a single walker since they left, and that was a good two hours or more ago. Either this area was cleared of walkers or something was drawing them away, and that was never good. Upon hearing a rustling to his left Cal swung his hand out to stop Sam from walking any further and drew his Katana out, adjusting a one-handed grip as the other stayed on Sam's chest. The forest on the side of the road certainly was thick so it was hard to tell what it was-animal, walker, person? Cal hoped for the first, the other two were real problems. Especially humans, they're much worse than walkers. They could take Sam from him and hurt him. But that wasn't going to happen because a walker came stumbling out of the forest tripping over a thick branch and landing on the asphalt. Cal moved both his hands to the handle of his Katana and walked over towards the walker, whispering something to himself before burying the katana in the things head. Silencing it. Cal turned back to Sam before he heard the faint noise of something else in the forest. The sound was rather faint, signaling it was either farther away or quieter and closer. Cal motioned for Sam to stay put and dove into the forest, keeping his katana up and ready. He narrowed his eyes as he parted the thick branches and came across a clearing. Nothing, but the noise was still present, this time ever so slightly louder. It was chewing. Cal knew that sound from when Sam ate since he ate so loudly. "Hello?" Cal whispered, he knew it was a risk but he wasn't about to have someone following them. If this person was here they were a threat and needed to be stopped or at least deterred from their route to the town.

Since Sam was always so bored when it came to walking he always carried something to at least ease the blow, and int his case it was a tennis ball. Sam would throw the ball in the air and catch it, making sure not to drop it or go near Cal. If he dropped the ball Cal would most likely take it away from him and that would leave him back at square one. Bored. Sam nearly ran into Cal's arm when it swung out and he blinked in surprise, putting two hands on the tennis ball in case something jumped out from them. Sam felt fear creep it's way up his back in anticipation until a zombie fell out of the forest. Sam let out a soft sigh and went back to his tennis ball, watching as Cal went ahead to silence the monster. Sam was curious about the walkers. He didn't know much about them if he was being honest, he never paid attention to anything Cal had to say really. Cal always dove deeper than necessary, saying it was something about becoming the monster we truly are. Weird. Sam glanced back to see where Cal was and upon seeing him missing Sam felt pure fear stab him. Where'd he go? Did he continue down the road? Did he go into the forest? Was he going to die standing here? Sam did a three-sixty to check his surroundings and saw Cal nowhere to be seen. Sam felt his mouth run dry as he dropped his tennis ball and took his hockey stick out, fixing the carabiner so it didn't fall off. He gulped before lifting his hockey stick in the air and slowly moving towards the center of the road. At least he'd have a chance if he saw them first, as long as he kept focused...

Lance//Male//Golf Club//Tag:

Lance was resting on a branch while his ears listened for any signs of growling or footsteps. It's been a day after his so-called friends left him to survive alone. Lance wasn't too worried about fighting these zombies, even though these alive-dead corpses couldn't be killed by normal weapons, he worried is about getting supplies. "I mean. Even though I played soccer last four years ago, I can feel my legs betrayed me." He said with disappointment. Maybe if mankind found some cures and the apocalypse stops, he can play some football instead.

The neighborhood was always foggy for some reason. Maybe it's the pollution, but it smells like water to him, and his body had not yet gone through transformation. Lance would rather be a human than be these rots. He wants to achieve at least something before dying. "Not gonna be famous this time." The scene would rather be weird if he stand in front of those zombies and shouted, "I'm the king!" Yeah. They will see him as a snack. Alright, he can dreamed all he want, but Lance should continue to focus on how cold the fog is. He forgot his jacket at the last stop, which is about four blocks from here, but those two undeads blocked the way. "I would rather be freeze to death than getting into a frenzy." He said before unhooking his legs.

Carefully, Lance slides down without making much noises. However, that didn't work out as barks were getting scraps off like some kind of potato chips. Since the neighborhood was foggy, He needs to figure out which directions they're approaching. The most iconic answer is, they're everywhere! He quickly jumped off from the bottom trunk and grabs his weapon inside the bush. "I feel like I'm playing another zombie fighting game, and now I know why it's not so exciting!" He continue to run all his might while his ears act like a recorder. He hit and jumped over a zombie that is quite close to him. "No kisses!" After brutally hitting five zombies, Lance finally crawls out of that hole. He panted for some air before entering the next town.

The undead don't talk. That's all the information Blaire needs to know that another human is approaching him. He relaxes a little at that, while humans are just as much dangerous, they're not quite as rabid. He holds in a sigh, wondering if he could climb the tree and hope that whoever it is passes. Then dismisses the idea, if he accidentally brought someone into the area, they might not leave until they find something.

Exhaling heavily, he says "It's alright, I'm not a walker."

Blaire frowns as he shoves his apple in the small sack he'd taken to collect food with. He gets his shovel ready should the stranger attack.

Cal felt tense when a voice called out saying he wasn't a walker. Cal scoffed at that-of course he wasn't a walker. Walker's don't talk in the first place, why bother saying so? Cal ignored his train of thought and lowered his katana, keeping both hands on it but in a more relaxed position. Cal thought this through for a minute-this said person was clearly hiding and could pose a threat to him and Sam, but without being able to see him Cal couldn't size the man up. Cal let his eyes dart from tree to tree, bush to bush, anywhere someone could hide. "Hiding for a reason?" He hissed, keep his voice low in case more walkers decided to shamble by. It was better to be safe than sorry. Cal could feel himself growing worried-not about himself but about Sam. He left him out on the road by himself and who knows. Maybe this was a trap and they had Sam captured already? Cal let out a silent curse before bring his katana up and sliding it back into the sheath on his back. "I'm not here to play games, why don't you just come out and we'll go from there. I won't hurt you if you won't hurt me." Cal knew the approach was direct and a risky move but Cal just wanted to get this over with and head back to Sam to make sure he was okay. He was out in the open-a perfect target for about anything.

Sam stopped his slowly spinning and realized he didn't know exactly where he was originally standing, so any sigh of figuring out where Cal went were gone. Sam cursed himself before thinking back to some lessons Cal had given him when this crazy mess started. The first rule Cal always gave him was if they got separated was to find a safe place and stay put. Sam took a look around, seeing only trees. Maybe he could climb a tree and stay up high where the walkers couldn't get him? Sam took it as his only bet and made his way towards the side of the road, unknown to him the opposite side where Cal was. He took a look at the branches and stumps before hoisting himself up a good amount. There's no way a walker would be able to reach up and grab him and if he needed to escape it was an easy jump and roll down. Sam smiled at himself, deeming himself clever, and let himself rest against the tree trunk. He kept his hockey stick in his hands across his lap in case something did arise but he felt confident that he was okay. Well, okay for now.

_____________________________________________________________________

Blaire presumes he hadn't been supposed to here that quick, harsh whisper, but his hearing has been better than his eyesight ever since he was blinded in his right one. He rolls his eye.

"No, I'm not hiding," He says, getting irritated, "you just haven't- just come out of the brush." He stands up from where he'd been sitting at the base of the tree, leaning on his shovel. The stranger seemed straight forward enough, so Blaire settles down from his earlier defensive position. "There. Is that better?" He frowns deeply.

"Anyways, I'd rather you come to me." He responds, warily. Blaire rather liked having a wall, or in this case, a tree, behind him. He worries less about being attacked from his blind spot that way. It leaves him more likely to be cornered, but Blaire feels more confidant about fighting his way out of that mess rather than being pinned in between an attack from both sides.

Oliver // Post #2

Postby ToxicEND15 » Wed Aug 08, 2018 10:53 am

[18-Years-Old] [Heterosexual Male] [Survivor]

Roleplay Information
Location: Town; side street
lined with houses.
Emotion: Cautious.
Tags: Open.
The street infront of him was quiet, silent actually. It was unerving on some level yet just another thing that had become oddly normal to Oliver. Staying low in the over grown grass -that likely had once been a lawn- he slinked forward. A movement to his left would have startled him if he hadn't know the source was simply Bandit; a blue merle border collie. Glancing over at the dog Oliver was quick to notice how at ease the canine was, a good sign, but not always perfect. None the less Oliver stood and stepped carefully onto the street.

On his left the road continued for several houses before coming to an abrupt stop at a trail head parking lot. To his right the side road connected to the main street of the town; perhaps even a highway. From his memory Oliver could recall spotting an few shops, restaurants, and a singular gas station. With luck he may be able to find some supplies and food. Even dog food would be good enough for him, although he'd prefer there was something more.

Pulling his backpack higher onto his shoulders Oliver looked down at Bandit speaking quietly. "Alright Bandit... We'll go further into town, look around a bit, then get out of this dreaded place." The dogs ears perked at his masters words but that was all thw acknowledgment Oliver needed. Turning right Oliver walked along the side of the road, doing his best to remain aware of all potential threats. Having Bandit by his side also helped as an early warning system fir the undead... However the canine was sometime slow to react to the recently turned or humans.

Olivia // Post #2

Roleplay Information
Location: Forest; moving

Too many undead. The sounds of grunting and groans only seemed to be increasing and it was beginning to cause the green cheek conure on Olivia's shoulder to shiver. Liv wanted to comfort the bird but she knew better than to make any sounds. Slowly and carefully Liv began making her way away from the mob of undead. Her focus was so centered on where she was stepping that she didn't see the walking corpse approaching on her left. However she did smell it.

At the scent of rot Liv froze and listened carefully. All she heard was a low growl before she looked in the direction of the undead woman. They hadn't spotted her yet but if they continued moving it wouldn't be much longer until they did. It took everything she could not to let out a pathetic whimper as she slowly backed away from the creature. That's when her back collided rather sharply with a tree.

A shriek slipped past her lips before she could catch herself then a whimper as the undead's head snapped in her direction. It looked her up and down slowly before lowering it's body and letting out a primal shriek of it's own. So loud that it practically echoed off the nearby trees. The sound of crashing in the underbrush confirmed some of her worst fears. Everything for at least a mile had heard that... Everything.

That's when the undead woman charged and for once Olivia did the right thing. She bolted.
