Curtis poked his head into Cory's room and smiled at him. "Hey! Need any help?" He asked the guy as he peered around the room. The sound of everyone chattering happily in the hall leaked into the small room and infected Curtis with joy. He smiled happily at the guy, watching him pull his things out of his bag. "Im Curtis by the way." He added on quickly, remebering his manners.

Cory turned in response to Curtis' voice, seeing who had walked into his open door. He gave a quick smile before turning back to his bags. "I uh, probably don't need too much help unpacking but... you can stay if you like?" he tried his best to be friendly - not his strong suit - to the introduction. "Cory! By the way. That's my name. Are you also an exchange student?" he suggests, trying to find a talking point between the two. Although he was nervous, he tried to be open to the obviously excited guy in his room.

Dakota took a deep breath in finally finding her room. The correct one that is..apparently she wasn’t the only Dakota here. She smiled a bit before reaching for the golden doorknob only to stop in her tracks as a smooth as silk voice met her ears. She glanced next to her only to take a small step back to put some space between her and the stranger. Kota looked him up and down. ’he’s kinda cute...’She thought only to furrow her brow at his attempt at flirting. Wait..was he flirting? Is that how guys flirt? How would she know? Guys never flirt with her. What does she do? Flirt back? Dakota realized she had stayed silent for longer than deemed necessary. “Oh! Yeah, yeah I am. And youre...a resident...that means..” she went silent for a few seconds before her eyes practically lit up. “You have some sort of power or something right?” She said taking a small step forward. “That’s so cool! That is, if you have any. I mean, you could of been an exchange student from a previous year, oh, but they didn’t start accepting exchange until this year so that..” she stopped herself realizing she was talking way too much. “Sorry..I’m rambling..let me start over,” she said letting out a breath of air. “I’m Dakota, I came here from England,” she said holding her hang out for him to shake giving him a small smile.

Philip walked down the hallway a grin on his face as he examined all the new exchange students. Of course he was in the exchange building, he wanted to scope out the new meat. He could help but admire how..normal? They looked. Well, maybe that wasn’t he right word to use but they were definitely different. A lot of them were attractive he had to admit. Specifically a charming younger looking boy. “Hm,” he said running a hand over his hair and adjusting his jacket. “Time to make some friends,” he said walking over to the boy. “Hello,” he said trying his best to act cool only to stumble over himself leaning against a wall he thought was there, but clearly wasn’t. “Ah,” he let out catching himself last minute. “Whew..” he let out glancing at the boy before giving a small wave. “Hi,” he said letting out a small nervous laugh. ’idiot, idiot, idiot,’he thought.

Riley snorted. "Sure you aren't," she said, "that's why you're trying to affect subatomic changes on a macro scale by pouring funny smelling liquids into each other. I suppose everyone has to start somewhere, though." The Sophomore inspected the array of reagents laid out before her with a rather bemused look. "At least you've taken some steps in the right direction," she observed. "The illegal stuff is always the most fun. Word of advice, don't bother with the modern stuff. Nowadays everyone's trying to attach meaning to things they have no right to. Newton, Alzhared, Ibn-Isil, there were some people that knew their place in the world. Of course, all their best work is dismissed as maniacal ravings nowadays, but there's progress for you."

Erik nodded as she spoke even though she didn't sound thrilled to be here. A feeling the two smokers shared. "Yeah, parents love this place. Just make sure you go to class and show up for the beginning of assemblies at least." Erik said as he fished a cigarette from his pack. He fumbled a bit, excited for the chance to smoke for the first time since he left his parent's home that morning. He took a long drag before he spoke again, exhaling as he did so, "But don't worry about making friends, you'll meet a ton of people." He flicked a bit of ash off and shrugged, "But it's also like that song, 'high school never ends.' I don't even want to think about the drama those exchange students will cause." However, he did have to admit that he did have a very humanoid form save for the full moon and the mandatory shift that brought. He did not expect too many awkward encounters with the exchange students.

Emily scoffed "true, but 'funny smelling liquids' isn't exactly the most scientific"
she was just about done with this girl, and yet she felt drawn to know more.
Emily also liked reading up on older work, and alchemy - the forbidden chemistry.
Hearing someone else have a even a little knowledge (ha) on this was exciting.
Her collection was almost like her child and having some reconition almost made
up for the offence she felt. "Newton I can understand but Alzhared is from a book
and I haven't ever heard of Ibn-Isil." She spouted, finally entering the room herself
and setting her things in the corner. "How can their works mean anything?"
She paused "Also you were going somewhere before, but is closed. where was that?"
Maybe it was overconfident but Emily felt less tempered now and was just curious

"So ditching is out of the question.. I don't see why they make us attend it. You must've heard it so many times now" Mark said looking over to Cory the man was a vampire so the many years he took here must've been alot. He saw no reason why going to school was a option when you've done it enough times. Mark wouldn't stay that long at a school he knew well enough if given to chance to leave school he'd take it in a heartbeat. "That leaves either sneaking out or sleeping..." He mumbled as he looked at the two. "Who's gonna make a party so quickly during the assembly that only gives like a few hours, and with strangers no less..." Mark added biting the side of his bottom lip. He figured he'd follow along the conversation and actually talk to others this year. All he did last year to get rid of his boredom was playing every sport he could, in doing so he was really good at sports. He didn't do it for the popularity he did it too not spend his days sleeping in, although he couldnt complain about that option.

"They don't teach him anymore?" Riley asked, surprised. "No wonder you lot haven't gotten anywhere. Always learn lessons from the future, not the past, that's the way, isn't it?" The Sophomore checked her watch, flopping down on the girl's bed. "I'm not one for sugarcoating things, so I'll just tell you. This place isn't your average school. You got a taste of it out in the hall, and you'll get more soon. I know your type, you won't shy away no matter how many people warn you, so just try not to make a mess. There's a reason you think Alhazred is just a fictional character, and there's a reason he's from a horror story."

Two minutes. The doorframe would work then. Heaving a dramatic sigh, she stood up, heading for the door. "I'd best be heading out," she said, "Ive got a rather unfortunate walk back. I'm on the second floor of the residency building, room 27- if you can find it, that is. Feel free to drop by if you ever need help. I know more about pretty much everything than pretty much everyone. Ta." With that, she headed out the door. Pulling the chalk once again from her pocket, she quickly marked a set of symbols on the wall, then stepped into the frame, making sure to do so out of the girl's view. Wouldn't do to have her try and follow. She reemerged on the concrete edge of a planter, a short distance away from the library. That was more like it.

Alex already hated the new exchange students. The way they looked at her made her want to rip their throats out with her teeth. But Alex beat down her frustration and stormed through the halls towards the library, hooves making thunderous clicking sounds. Students jumped out of her way; Alex was used to being treated like the plague by people by now, but to see students who sometimes looked just as alarming as her jump out of her way was just irking. An odd scent encroached on Alex's senses, and her head whipped to the side, spotting a strange girl who seemed to appear from out of nowhere. She didn't smell human; she smelled wrong. Her scent reminded Alex of her own when she was possessed by the Wendigo. Biting back a snarl, Alex slunk forwards a little closer, trying to catch a better whiff of this strange creature without being too obvious. But one thing Alex is not is stealthy, her freakishly long arms and large, extravagant antlers drew way too much attention.

Sia could barely contain her nerves as she slithered through the exchange student's corridor. Every time someone neared her glittering green tail she flinched, terrified they'd trip over her, but they never did. Sia usually wasn't so skittish, but she really didn't want to scare anybody on their first day. Sia slipped past an open door, freezing as she saw a girl slip out of the door, draw a symbol on a wall, and walk through it. Sia was so startled she lost her handle on her glamour. Gasps rang out around her and students scattered, staring at her in horror. Sia smiled at them apologetically, but when they saw her fangs they began to panic even more. Shoot shoot shoot. Sia glanced at the slightly ajar door that strange girl walked out of, weighing her options. Impulsively, Sia wrenched open the door and slithered inside, slamming it shut behind her. "Dios mio, that was stressful." Sia sighed to herself, glad to be away from the shocked stares around her. It was then that Sia noticed the other girl in the room, the very, very human girl, with what looked like an alchemy set laid out in front of her. "Oh shoot. I'm sorry, bella, I thought this room was empty." Sia's tail flicked nervously. This was certainly not how she wanted to start at this school.

Blaise blinked rapidly, brain reeling to keep up with Dakota's talking pace. When she got to the part about powers, Blaise grinned. "Ah, yes, I do have 'powers' as you say. Glad you mentioned it, these things cramp up if I tuck them in for too long." Blaise rolled his shoulders, releasing his radiant white wings to splay out around him majestically. "I'm Blaise, your resident angel. Nice to meet you, Dakota." Blaise took her hand and shook it, regarding her through his long lashes. "Most residents aren't too happy to see exchange students, but I've grown up around humans, and, frankly, some of the students here freak me out. Vampires, cannibalistic monsters, snake people, count me out." Blaise suppressed a shudder at the thought of some of the creepier students at this school.
