Oscar continued to twist the bracelet on his wrist repeatedly until they touched down at last. Flying was never a pleasant experience and flying into the face of certain death, even less so. Still, there was nobody he would trust more to fly them there than Magnolia and even through the plane's speakers her voice was soothing. Her voice, and the book sitting on his lap, had been the only things stopping him thinking about all the possible ways the villains could slaughter them. Ripped in half, burnt by fire or toxic gas, electrocuted, swept away in a tornado and what about Chronophantasma? She could just stop time and stab him and be gone before anyone even knew she was there. These were not great, morale-boosting things to be thinking about. Diesel seemed to also be thinking about these terrible things as he began suggesting the just flew straight back home again. Truth be told it
did sound nice - sitting round the table with his parents and the Jins, enjoying a home-cooked meal, but it could never be the same. Not without Myrtle.
Oscar steeled himself as he stood up and tugged a small rucksack out of the overhead compartment and tucked his book inside. Then he made his way to the exit and hopped off the plane to join Magnolia and the others. He smiled a little as Amarae's arm stretched it's way over to Diesel holding an orange lollipop before listening to Magnolia's words. Of course, she offered them all a choice. They could fight, and probably die, or they could choose not to ,and let the world fall apart. He ran over the reasons why he was here in his head. It was mainly Myrtle truly, and all those like him. He had been innocent, hadn't posed a threat to anyone yet he had gone down with the city they were destroying without any reason and he was hardly the only one. Plus, he'd probably be mad if Oscar didn't have Magnolia's back in this. No one else seemed to be prepared to stop them and
"If they're not stopped the fate of this whole world is one worse than death." He murmured aloud, brave words from a terrified chameleon,
"So, of course my heart tells me to fight. You're not going anywhere without me."Magnolia was their leader but Oscar was her second hand and he wore that badge with pride. Once he had agreed to go with her there was no longer any turning back for him, no matter how many choices she gave.
