Cert rushed over to her, worried. "You didn't get bit, did you?" He couldn't help but think of Ray as he asked. He really hoped that she hadn't. He examined her quickly, but he couldn't really tell under the walker blood."We just need to make sure that we stay quiet. The smell of walker blood on us should keep them from attacking us if we don't make to much noise." He had gathered up as much medication as he could. "To answer your question, most of the people here were old and possibly sick, so they would have died and then turned the caregivers. It's possible that no one had been able to leave the retirement home before it got chaotic." He picked up a few more things and then looked around. "We need to head down to the basement after we're done up here. If it's similar to where Malia worked, the kitchen and food storage will be down there. It doesn't seem like anyone's been here, so it's probably packed."
Storm slumped against the ground, his eyes closed. He was so exhausted, and he felt weak and faint. He didn't move from his awkward position, looking rather dead.
Malia stayed with Jared, even though she was out of her mind worried about Storm. She hoped that he was safe, but that wasn't likely since he wasn't where he was supposed to be. She had her spear out in front of her, keeping guard, facing the door.
