↠ Chandler had already anchored his boat and started to settle on the island, beginning to set up a camp. He hadn’t much, only a tent, a storage box and he was currently working on a campfire. He was located on the very edge on the beach, under the friendly shade of some trees, he didn’t want to set up too far away from his ship in case he needed to return to it in a hurry. As he was searching for wood to fuel his campfire, he had also fashioned some fallen branches into makeshift spears, preparing for a scenario where his gun would not do the job of taking something out. Gathering the spears he had made rather quickly, he stored them in his tent then returned to his, currently unlit, campfire, arranging the wood he had previously collected in the recommended way then taking out a lighter, igniting the campfire.
The reason why he had made the campfire so early was because on his way to the island he managed to net quite a few of the fish that roamed the waters and he was hoping to have a meal before the fish spoiled as he would rather not have to deal with spoiled meat - that would just be a complete waste of his time and effort if he allowed the food to go bad. Sighing softly, he brushed his hair out of his face while he prepared the fish, sat down on a log he had pulled over from nearby.

↠ Dylan's agitation gradually increased as his stamina drained from him, although he later decided that continuing to struggle would only cause more problems for himself, and so he relaxed, cleared his mind and looked around, scanning the waters then noticing a merman approaching. He grunted and moved his head to look away and refused to make eye contact. How embarrassing, he was needing help from somebody else because he couldn't deal with a little bit of seaweed! Uhg. Attempting to salvage what dignity he had left in this moment, the kelpie remained still, only jerking his head downwards to nod in order to give the merperson permission to help him. Dylan was the one who was supposed to help people, not the other way around! With this thoughts, the equine snorted and silently scolded himself for becoming agitated yet again.
Relaxing once more, he sighed softly and finally turned his head to look at the merman, blinking slowly and allowing his eyes to roam over the merperson before him; they appeared rather athletic, some of their muscles were defined although not that defined, they had muscles but it wasn't like they were extremely muscular. Then Dylan's eyes moved down to the, primarily rusty red, tail - there wasn't much to say about it, really. The kelpie nickered softly as he looked at the merman, trying to put a name to the face (he was sure he had seen him around before) only recalling that the name began with a D much like his own.

↠ Anahita was doing her daily rounds of the island (she was actually just exploring, but she liked making it sound like she was doing something incredibly productive and important) and swimming through some of the shipwrecks - they had been picked clean, though, anything valuable that may have been left in them was long gone; this disappointed the nereid, however she didn't let the fact dampen her mood, after all, while she may not have anything new and cool, someone else did. That was good enough in her books, and so she would leave the shipwreck and go onto the next one - there was never a shortage of wrecks to scavenge, unfortunately multiple ships and her crew would perish on their way to the island.
Eventually the excitable sea creature found herself a long ways from the island, barely seeing it on the horizon when she swam upwards and broke the surface of the sea to look around and collect her bearings. She huffed softly and ducked down under the water once more, swimming towards the island; not particularly quickly, though, despite having two tails she lacked the speed that a merperson or siren would have, and her legs would tire quicker. On her way back home, she noticed a ship that was approaching the island as well, immediately sparking her curiosity and giving her a boost of energy and enthusiasm while she began swimming towards that instead.
Soon enough, Anahita arrived at her desired destination: the side of the vessel, swimming alongside it and gently running her hand across the side, giggling quietly to herself before sinking down under the water which allowed her to swim beneath the boat, curiously inspecting the bottom of it before noticing what appeared to be a book in the water. Grabbing at it, the nereid attempted to flick through pages - basically impossible under the water due to the soggy pages, so she gave up on doing that. It must've come from the ship! She realised, looking towards the ship once again and swimming up to break the surface of the water, attempting to see over the side of the ship and locate where the book had come from. A fruitless venture. Frowning thoughtfully, Anahita considered her options: she could keep the book or return it. But how would she return it? After a while of deep thought, the nereid scanned the side of the ship and raised her arm, lobbing the book over the side and back onto the boat, even though that was likely pointless now, the pages seemed to be irrecoverable.
