➢ ”Hm,” was my only answer, acknowledging the new information she’d given me. “That explains your...” I paused, grasping briefly for a word. “... colour palette.” I gestured loosely at all of her with my free hand. “It would be more likely from an area like that, natural advantage and the like.” I nodded in agreement with myself as I walked, and added as a statement rather than a question - “And your townspeople didn’t particularly take to the wolves.” Pausing momentarily I switched my phone to my left hand and pulled the other headphone from my ear, deciding this conversation was intriguing enough as I easily disconnected and wrapped my headphone cable around my other hand with a practiced efficiency, then placed the bundle in my pocket. I’d never met an Alaskan.
“What’s growing up there like? Tell me about life there.”
{{wow, sorry for the mess that was my last post! I was debating whether to stay in the first-person and wanted to make sure I got everything in the post. I was so focused on that I entirely forgot to proofread. Good grief haha

➢ Zion stiffened in surprise, suddenly staring back at a wide-awake, human-formed Basil; the girl squinted momentarily as her eyes readjusted to the light, and she watched, bewildered as the boy leaped into action, berating her with questions. At his last question realization dawned on her and a small mischievous smile appeared on her face despite her best efforts. She searched his face slightly as he relaxed and continued speaking, and replied in a happy but slightly apologetic tone, “Sorry, I didn’t think of that, and I had no idea you’d be sleeping…” He’s so sweet, Zion thought to herself, feeling a bit warm inside from the care he’d just displayed and blushing lightly in spite of herself. Quirking up an eyebrow, Zion closed her eyes and stretched languidly, down to her toes as she internally inspected the state of her body after her first pack hunt. Letting herself down from standing on her toes, the girl opened her eyes again and hummed contentedly, saying, “Yeah, I’m pretty sure I’m good.” She grinned lightly, adding, “Mind you, I know my muscles are going to ache in the morning. I typically don’t get this much exercise, and this flab isn’t going to go away on its own.” She lightly grabbed a bit of her stomach fat just above her hip as she mentioned it, then let go and readjusted her shirt in a mildly self-conscious manner. The girl chuckled, mentally shrugging off her previous comment and said, “So, what do you want to start with? I’ve got books, music, and many other wonders.” Plopping down onto his bed, Zion grinned in anticipation. "Maybe we should just get to know each other better. It's day one of our friendship - I gotta know the important stuff about you, like your favourite colour and season." She smiled jokingly at the statement. "So, which first - music, movies, the equivalent of 20 questions?"

➢ Very much at home in a coat of fur, Chester took off running at the sound of Anya’s hunting howl, gleefully feeling the forest-scented air coursing through his fur and filling up his lungs. It had been a while since he spent time in a forest. Eventually he slowed and stopped; inhaling deeply, the obscenely tall wolf took note of the details in the darkened forest, and searched for signs of prey nearby; he couldn’t possibly scare away the entire forest, could he? Chuckling mentally Chester looked around, and was interrupted by Ezra’s call for support… he sounded close by. Picking his steps carefully, the deep ginger wolf glided over the forest floor until he was just steps behind his adoptive brother. Using the mental-link, he part whispered, not wanting to potentially startle Ezra. “Hey man, whatcha find?” he questioned lightly.
