☀︎ Hotei - Fire(d) Dragon - Form - New Teacher - Tags: Kaze ☀︎Hotei’s eyes seemed to shine with a new fire, and bowing his head slightly, he said, “thank you. I hope it will not get too heated.” A small grin came to his face at the pun. He caught onto Kaze’s gesture quickly and briskly walked down to the arena not far behind her. He’d just be testing out his fire powers, unless his dragon form decided that it could be summoned, for once in Hotei’s life, though he wasn’t sure if he wanted that to happen.
He cracked his neck and stood sturdily at the far end of the platform, eventually strugging off his jacket and tossing it gently to the first row of steps. The dragon then extended his arm, and with a snap of his fingers, the entire limb lit up with blue flames. “Hey, you wanna work on dodging first, or you want us both to go all out?” The red-head shouted, curious as to how his powers would work after such a long time of not using them.
☁︎ Rai - weather dragon - form - student - Tags: Akira ☁︎Rai’s eyes sparkled with amusement at the comment about fire-breathing dragons. “Suit yourself, though I guess rain dragons like myself end up looking like we’re just spitting. Guess that’s one downside do the element.” His electric blue eyes stuck to Akira’s face, observin*her curiously. “They’re cool powers, but that could also be because you haven’t experienced them. Light seems like a pretty darn cool element to me.” He added with a wink.
Rai couldn’t stop the cheeky smile rising to his face at the next part. “You could
technically tell him, but he would beat me up if he knew who I was. You don’t want to see this beautiful face get ruined, do you? But I’m sure the whole brother thing would still surprise him. He knew his fire was stopped by someone, but I don’t think he’d expect that it was some random kid. And uh, we don’t look alike because we aren’t actually alive. Well, we are, we just...” he leaned on his back and flung an arm in the air a bit. “We’re elements given life, yeah? I was technically a cloud at some point. He was fire, etc, etc.”
At her next line of questioning the light-haired boy shrugged, his smile fading. “It’s... well, that’s a more positive onlook of it, but I don’t think it’s really that simple. It’s like you were made for a reason and you fix whatever you were meant to at the beginning of your existence- is there really a point to living after that, even when you’re meant to do nothing for all eternity?” Rai quickly realised what he said and tried to awkwardly laugh it off. “Anyway, junk food is g-o-o-d, and isn’t there a thing where younger kids eat things like broccoli and pretend that they are tiny trees? It’s the same thing! I’m sure trees can be organic too?”
At that the boy sat up again and popped open the bread he was gifted, roughly ripping off a part of it with his teeth and shaking it around a bit just for show. It was not unlike how a dog might play with a toy. With the bite of bread still sticking out of his mouth, Rai looked up at Akira. “Pretty sure I ate the squirrel too.” He joked, though his tone was made to sound questionable. It seemed that the younger dragon also had a bit of a dry sense of humour.
He ate the bread finally, giving a delighted (and maybe exaggerated) hum. “I could always pickpocket him too you know- ah, wait, does that count as stealing still? Anyway, no teacher could just let a student
starve, sooo...” His previously carefree and jokin attitude somewhat left at Akira’s acceptance, to which he gave a warm beam. In fact, the sun had practically just reappeared from some amount of cloud cover right as he did so- though even Rai himself didn’t know if it was his doing. “Thanks! Er, is that what you’re supposed to say?” The elemental got over his intitial response with a quick shake of his head before listening to what the fairy had to say.
The idea came as a surprise to Rai too, enough so that he had to cock his head to the side as he chewed to think about it. A few moments after his consideration, he made a “hmm” sound with his mouth. “Well, for one us dragons are kind of seen as a generic beast in all of history. The gods kind of took our thunder, if that makes sense? The thunder part is only literally in my case. It was also some time ago, before humans came up with scientific theories. I’m not disproving their ‘science’, it’s just that the few lost technology-items that were sent into clouds are not the easiest for me to find. Plus they don’t taste good or cause any harm.” The white-haired student gave a sniff of amusement at the thought that he had actually eaten some expensive piece of scientific equipment, though his attention drew back to Akira quickly after. “Plus there have been some dragons that have given us the whole evil princess-kidnapping and castle-destroying vibe, which has likely made the “guardian” career invisible. Isn’t it the same thing with most of us here, though? That we’ve just been dismissed as legends? I’m sure fairies are pretty popular in this current world right?” He pointed out, finishing off the snack. Instead of starting to dig into another food item, Rai sunk down to lay on his side with an arm propping up his head.
☂Fuji - weather dragon - form - student - tags: Quinn ☂Fuji gave an amused exhale at the comment. “History? Well, that’s good I guess. And I figure nothing really got done in it today either.” She guessed, knowing full well how most first-days of school went. The dragon’s eyes were glued to the other girl’s arm as it changed, her own electric eyes sparking with interest at the strange power. “Watching that may take a bit of time to get used to.” She noted with a small chuckle, plucking up a blueberry with her thumb and index finger.
At the mention of another sibling, Fuji smiled. “Aw, really? That’s nice. I’ve heard some more unfortunate cases with shifters, but that certainly isn’t one of them. Anyway, it’s always nice to have someone that’s forced to hang out with you when you need it.” She laughed. “My brother is... quite the opposite of that, though he does tend to seek out the quieter people to befriend. Or, well, everyone, heh. His name’s Rai if you met him, plus he looks like the guy version of myself.” The elemental dragon ate a few more mouthfuls of fruit before leaning back in her seat, her arms now crossed over her chest casually. She made no move to tell more about her family life or past, at least at this exact moment.
Fuji gave a small shrug at the curiosity of her being a dragon. “Seeing as your family is full of em I’m not that surprised. Similar people think alike after all, right? But... I do have a feeling that you’ll meet many different people here. I’d show you my dragon form but this-“ she glanced around the low ceiling of the room- “is hardly the place.
The white-haired shifter turned her head to look around just as Quinn was doing so, curious to see if anyone else had befriended everyone. Not to her surprise, there were still a lot of loners. “I bet they’re just not used to it- many of us are ridiculed you know, at least the ones with visible attributes. Or they just decided to move about the school to eat, which seems like a better bet. Would You like to explore with me in a bit?” Fuji offered, her demeanour growing quieter at first but then brightening up again.
