☀︎ Hotei - Fire(d) Dragon - Form - New Teacher - Tags: Kaze ☀︎Hotei didn’t have to see Kaze to know that she was staring at him, and continued to keep his eyes perfectly busy from looking into hers. He did feel his teeth getting sharper in his mouth though, which was a quick sign of his uncontrolled change to his dragon form, though of course the timing was horrible. He huffed a cough of embers into his hand, hoping to stall the shift.
At Kaze’s eventual words, the red-head finally met her eyes, the slitted pupils gradually returning to normal from the calm tone she used. Was that a power of hers? Hotei took the hand from his mouth, giving a grateful nod. “Thank you... I suppose I could say the same, experience-wise anyway.” He calmed down a bit as she brought up a joke, though pink still dusted his face. “Old? No, though how old can you be? Ah, wait, that was very rude...” The dragon questioned and then realised what he had said mere seconds after. He himself was rather old, though he never counted the actual number of centuries. Was she just as old, or even more ancient?
Hotei blinked at her final compliment towards him, honestly a bit surprised by it. Comments on his colour-shifting eyes and hair were certainly not unheard of, but hearing the other teacher compliment him made him feel fuzzy inside. He gave a calm but quiet snort of amusement. “Thank you, I’m flattered... though I guess this interaction has turned out to be quite the conversation.” He got over his quick burst of embarrassment and gave a genuine laugh, his attention drawing back to the door quickly to make sure the two of them were still alone. “Um, and I’m really sorry to ask this, but are you busy at the moment? You seemed to have been in the middle of something before I somewhat awkwardly interrupted...”
☁︎ Rai - weather dragon - form - student - Tags: Akira ☁︎Rai raised a brow at her question about wind, shrugging simply at it. “Well, weather, yeah. Like you know how dragons are supposed to breathe fire and all that?” He made a motion with his hand in front of his mouth to gesture ‘breathing fire’. “It’s more like summoning stuff really, and most of us only get one element. My twin sister and I can control weather while other guys like Hotei can summon fire. I’m shaming whoever came up with the idea of us spitting fire- that’s gross.” He stuck out his tongue as if to prove his point.
“But you can use magic too, right? Being a fairy and all? Surely some elements come into play there?” He wondered, both of his eyebrows raised now. The boy gave a distracted shrug at the mention of the game of tag, indicating that he didn’t know himself. “Well, I’m not sure if it was technically tag, but I never heard him say no. And uh... I guess a couple of centuries, give or take a few? Anyway as long as I still don’t get tagged.”
Rai noted the gorl’s thoughtful expression. Was she trying to piece something together, like how old he really was? Of course, the topic had been on Hotei, so maybe she was trying to connect the two of them. Feeling that was a reasonable consideration, the elemental figured that he would save her the trouble. “It was all in good fun. I’m his younger brother, sort of. He doesn’t know that though.”
Dropping the topic at hand to avoid the risk of further confusion, a cat-like grin spread across the dragon’s face. “Well, it’s more like providing strange occurrences when they need it. I can only recall one exact occurrence that spurred my existence, which was creating rain to take out a very big fire stated by a certain somebody. Real big one too- it took a long time. Now, though, I’ve just been helping get rid of droughts from time to time.”
When he started getting scolded, the boy’s confident demeanour shifted to one that was less certain. “Well... yeah, you have a point, but it’s not like I’ve been eating a lot of it! Plus what are a couple of calories to a dragon like me? Ya know, bigger creatures have bigger appetites! I should be glad that I’m only eating four human-sized things.” He started spouting crap in his defence, actually taking a step back when Akira stepped closer to him. Thinking about her next question, Rai visibly relaxed a little and brought a hand thoughtfully to his lips. “Well, I did eat a tree recently. It was a dare, really, but it’s a plant, so it’s gotta count for something, right?” He appeared to get nervous again once stealing was mentioned and wondered if he should have ended his last phrase with it. “I’m flat broke! No one pays clouds you know! But, uh, I don’t know if that’s completely necessary...” the dragon started to trail off a bit more quietly at the end, his face a blushing mess when he was handed the bread. “O-oh, thanks...”
The dragon’s blush was obvious with his pale complexion, and knowing this, he attempted to steer with conversation into a different direction. Offering a goofy grin, he shifted himself to sit down cross-legged in the grass. Rai perched his arm on his leg and leaned so that his cheek was resting on his hand. “You know I could just bother Hotei for it, right? But um, the lunch period is only so long, if you’d like to eat with me?”
☂Fuji - weather dragon - form - student - tags: Quinn ☂Fuji gave an amused exhale at the comment. “History? Well, that’s good I guess. And I figure nothing really got done in it today either.” She guessed, knowing full well how most first-days of school went. The dragon’s eyes were glued to the other girl’s arm as it changed, her own electric eyes sparking with interest at the strange power. “Watching that may take a bit of time to get used to.” She noted with a small chuckle, plucking up a blueberry with her thumb and index finger.
At the mention of another sibling, Fuji smiled. “Aw, really? That’s nice. I’ve heard some more unfortunate cases with shifters, but that certainly isn’t one of them. Anyway, it’s always nice to have someone that’s forced to hang out with you when you need it.” She laughed. “My brother is... quite the opposite of that, though he does tend to seek out the quieter people to befriend. Or, well, everyone, heh. His name’s Rai if you met him, plus he looks like the guy version of myself.” The elemental dragon ate a few more mouthfuls of fruit before leaning back in her seat, her arms now crossed over her chest casually. She made no move to tell more about her family life or past, at least at this exact moment.
Fuji gave a small shrug at the curiosity of her being a dragon. “Seeing as your family is full of em I’m not that surprised. Similar people think alike after all, right? But... I do have a feeling that you’ll meet many different people here. I’d show you my dragon form but this-“ she glanced around the low ceiling of the room- “is hardly the place.
The white-haired shifter turned her head to look around just as Quinn was doing so, curious to see if anyone else had befriended everyone. Not to her surprise, there were still a lot of loners. “I bet they’re just not used to it- many of us are ridiculed you know, at least the ones with visible attributes. Or they just decided to move about the school to eat, which seems like a better bet. Would You like to explore with me in a bit?” Fuji offered, her demeanour growing quieter at first but then brightening up again.
