"We don't lie to each other," Malia told her. "He'd want to know the truth anyways. He's not a weak person who needs to be protected from the truth. He's one of the strongest people I know. I won't mention it unless it comes up or I feel like I need to, though." She started to walk back to the building Cert and Storm were in, glancing back to make sure Rose was following her.

Rose didn’t reply nor follow. She was upset Malia had gotten her to stay, despite how strongly she felt she had to go. These people are... weird! After a few moments and rubbing her temples, she walked back inside and picked up her gun, sitting in the back of the room. She thought hard about her situation.

Cert had greeted Malia with a nod, and did the same to Rose when she came in. He was glad that she took her gun back. It had been making him uneasy. Malia was sitting beside Storm, combing his hair with her fingers absentmindedly. Cert got up and told her that he was going to check with Ray if Jared was nearly back yet.
He went up to Ray and greeted him with a 'hey'. "Do you know if Jared is almost back yet? When the building crashed, it made a lot of noise, so I'm concerned that we will be swarmed by walkers."

Ray shook his head no. “No, unfortunately... but Ellis and Brady went to find stuff in those apartments.” He pointed to the row of buildings the duo had gone toward, then pulled out his pistol once he checked Malia wasn’t around to react to it. “I really hope they find some ammunition for this thing... it makes me feel uneasy all I have to fight with is a worn machete. Maybe we could-“

Rose exited the building too, entering their conversation. “I wouldn’t go anywhere; if you really are afraid of an attack, you wouldn’t want to let too many more people leave the area.” She pursed her lips, thinking she may have said it too abruptly. “I used to give a lot of orders to my own people before they staffed me as a doctor... they’re so desperate they put a former vet as their doctor.” She smiled, the mere thought ridiculous. The truth was Rose hated being the primary medical professional to her much larger group; she was much more interested in more hands-on things, hence her temporary departure from their settlement.

I looked up at her hand for a moment before I held onto it getting back up onto my feet. I looked at her and then glanced over to Brady and the two women. "I'm tryin' to make our group bigger, maybe we can find a place to stay and make it a permanement home." I looked down and said quietly, "and id like ya ta be apart of that."

Ellis
I looked around the apartment with Brady. "I never liked apartments much." I walked over to Brady and looked down at the pillows and shrugged. "better than nothin' right?"

Cert nodded his head. "Right. The sooner they get back, the faster we can get out of here, though." He was a bit uneasy when Ray took out his gun, Malia's reactions rubbing off on him. He tried not to show it, though. He didn't want anyone thinking he was weak---not that Malia was.

“Not a fan myself, but they’re cheap, y’know?” Brady stated, reminiscing a little, “Well, now they’re free, I guess.” He gave a thumbs up, pleased with himself that they found pillows. “Let me know when you wanna hit the next one. I’ve got a good feeling about it!” He grinned, having created a new game for himself.

Rose tensed, realizing she’d have to stay with these people until Storm came to. “Yeah, we should probably get going before it starts pouring.” She looked to the overcast sky, foreshadowing heavy rain.

Ray shrugged. “I just want some time to catch up, that’s all. It wasn’t that long when the group got separated by that horde, but I haven’t really gotten to talk to Brady all day. He’s been busy with... that girl.”

Cert laughed a bit. "He'll come around eventually. Hey, where you guys from? In the beginning, I mean."

Rose hesitated, unsure if she wanted to divulge too much information. “Arizona.” She didn’t want to come off as cryptic, but getting too buddy-buddy was a worry for her. She couldn’t let any attachments arise.

Ray, smiled, happy to be having normal conversation. “Brady and I came from California; kind of around the capital, Sacramento. We used to joke about how nothing happens there until... something did.” He laughed a little, although he was describing a grim situation. “Then again, that happened everywhere. What about yourself?”
