I finished my side of the deer and statted to cut the meat from it and setting it down on the metal table I had near us. I laughed a bit at his comment. "Try skinning a moose, worse that this is."

Jared
I looked into the room and saw the man. "We need make sure the brain is destroyed." I took out a knife and walked over stopped beside the man on the bed.

Brady shuddered. “No thanks.” He laughed, continuing on to cut the meat. Well, maybe it’s not so bad... He was actually starting to have a bit of fun, which was odd to him but also quite a relief.

Jennifer(River)
I smiled and zet the knife down on the table. "Now we just gotta package it and elave someone for us to make." I got out Ziploc bags and started to put the meat into them seprated by which parts they were. I set aside the steaks and cut them in half putting one of them away. I went into the room on the side of the barn putting the mest into the freezer box we had hooked up to solar panels and grabbed the 3 steaks. "At least we have actual food now."

*Azaray sighed, a sad mocking sigh,she pulled out her knife and walked back in, she shoved in front of Jared, she looked away from the man and stabbed him right in the head. She thought to her self 'that could be him, that could him.' she continued to think 'but it isn't, no, it's not him.' she sighed. She pulled out her knife and stuck it back in her belt. She stayed looking at the wall her hand stayed on the belt and knife. She couldn't bare the thought of losing her father.*

I, think we should get back out there to the animals now...

*her hand clutched the knife and she removed her hand from the belt walking out the room then out the house. She stayed neared the door leaning against the house, she sighed*

Brady began packaging the meat, inviting Ray to come. He took off his beige jacket and approached the two, placing the meat in the bags carefully and with ease. “This deer was a good catch,” Ray said, a bit impressed with Ellis, “Pretty lucky, if you ask me.”

“Forget the hunting chatter, I’m ready for steak,” Brady interrupted, putting on a ravenous expression, “I haven’t had fresh, cooked meat in... forever!” He looked to Ray for affirmation; he nodded, pleased as well.

I watched Azarays actions and looked down at the man for a second before grabbed ahold of the bla ket on the bed and covering him with it. I walked out to the room and down the stairs. I looked aroudn for a moment more before I walked out of the house and over to her. "Are ya 'lright?" I paused for a second looking at the floor then looked up toward the car to see the pig she had put in there staring at us through the window. "I think yer pig needs ya." I chuckled a bit and then looked over to her.

I got out a small tray and put the steaks on them and walked over to the fire pit. "Sorry but we dont really keep seasonings around." I laughed and started to make the fire. I took out a lighter and lit a piece of wood on fire before sticking it in the middle of the fire pit. I sat down beside the fire on a log that we had cut in half. "So...whats yalls story?" I paused for a minute before adding. "Ya know before everything went ta the dead."

“We’ll take what we can get,” Brady replied, grateful just to have fresh food rather than granola bars and bottles of water in a whole day. “Hm... well, we were roommates before everything happened. We came from the city, in California.”

“Needless to say it was crowded,” Ray added, shaking his head with pity for those who didn’t make it out, “We were just traveling aimlessly, trying to find somewhere to stay permanently, because, well... we were never doing well, y’know? We’ve had a couple days where we just couldn’t eat.”

“Anyway, pretty ordinary as far as I can tell. It’s just been the two of us the whole time up until now.” Brady smiled, reminiscing. “How about you guys? Have you been here the entire time?”

Jennifer(River)
I started to cook the steaks. "Yeah my dad used ta be here but after me and Ellis got out of the marines he just left all of us here incharge of the shop and the house." I paused for a moment. Think I g back on everything that had happened during the apocalypse.

"Back when everything started our little community tried to stay together...but obviously that didn't work and everyone ended up leaving cause they had family elsewhere." I looked over at them for a moment before looking back to the fire. "We saved Alli one of our newer horses from a few of our neighbors thst didnt make it out, including her own owner, I'm sure she knows he wasnt right and didnt get too close sothat was good." I pet Nashville who was know sitting nect to me laying his head on my leg. Tennessee was laying by the fire belly up and his tongue hanging out.

Ray avoided eye contact with River, his eyes revealing a slightly sullen feeling. “I wonder where my family is...” He winced, fighting tears. “I can’t believe things turned out like this.” He shook his head slowly, resenting the cruelty of reality. “Be right back.” He rose from his seat, hiding his face. He headed into the house.

Brady watched him leave, sharing his feelings. “Odd. He’s not normally a crier.” He shrugged it off, his eyes still reflecting peaceful state of mind. “That reminds me... back when we first met, did you hear our conversation? When I said I didn’t want this whole thing to change us?” He paused, not expecting her to remember. “Well, I meant it. Maybe it’s still me clinging on to the past but I can’t help it. When we move away soon I don’t know if Ray will be able to handle it. He’s been bottling something up; hiding it, actually. I just want everyone to be happy again...” He clenched his teeth, angry at fate. “Ah, sorry. That was a mouthful.” Weirdly, he trusted River in being able to confide to.

I watched Ray get up and walk away a little worried for him. "Did I hit a rough spot?" I looked over to Brady sadly. I didnt mean to make Ray upset and I certisnly didnt want to.

"No I guess I was too worried about hidin' from yall instead of listening ta what y'all were saying." I laughed a little bit and looked down to Nashville. I rubbed one of his ears gently.
