Daniel found himself frowning once again as he listened to the small girl talking about her life. She had it rough. And it seemed like she didn't even know just how rough she had it. One thing that stood out from her story was her mention of eating and drinking, though. "How did you survive like that?" he asked, confused. Daniel knew it wasn't possible for a baby to survive without food and water. Samantha also seemed to notice that one little detail, as well.

Oh man... of course Carmen had to go and ask something like that. "Oh gosh... I'm so sorry..." She sat there in silence for a few moments, trying to think of a way to recover. It probably wasn't a great idea to ask any more personal questions, but she wanted to keep the conversation going. "You said before that you're into drawing... Y'know, photography isn't much different. They have a bunch of the same general ideas; composition, contrast, all that junk. You'd probably be a pretty decent photographer if you tried your hand at it."

"How did I survive without food or drink? I just.. did. I kind of thought it was normal..." At this she started to worry. She was worried she wasn't a normal person. Her brow furrowed and tears formed at the bottom of her eyes.
"D-does this m-mean I'm not no-normal? Am I okay?" She sniffed. She was scared and overwhelmed. Her whole life had been proven wrong in the past hour. A very overwhelmed and scared expression formed on her face, and she curled into a ball, whimpering.

Samantha frowned when the girl began to cry. She could recall the terror she felt when she first found out about her power, and she couldn't help but feel bad for the orphan. She walked over and knelt down, placing her hand on the girl's shoulder. "It's okay; it isn't normal, but you're not a freak. You'll be fine. And we won't tell anyone. Right, guys?" She glanced over her shoulder at Daniel, a challenging glare daring him to say otherwise.

Daniel felt immense guilt when the girl started tearing up. 'I just made a little girl cry...' Rubbing his arm awkwardly, he watched as Samantha comforted the little girl. The girl seemed to be cracking at her tough exterior. "Oh, nah, we won't," he quickly assured Samantha, then paused for a moment."Just to clarify... what exactly is it that we're not telling anyone?" Maybe there was just something he wasn't getting.

Samantha relaxed when Daniel confirmed that he wouldn't say anything, although she tried to not show it. Good, she wouldn't have to hurt him. "She's obviously one of those hybrids. We can't mention it to anybody," she explained, her voice was hoarse, as if there was a lump in her throat. She was not going to cry over this. She cleared her throat before continuing. "The government will find out then haul her off, and who knows what they'll do to her." Her voice was brief and cool, although her fingernails were digging into her palms.

"Oh.." She snorted. "God no. Trust me, I've tried." She wrapped her hands around her waiste, unable to contain the fit of laughter that soon followed. "I think drawing is more my thing." She calmed down, slowly, looking at Carmen. Giving her a slight smile, unable to give her the full thing. She hasn't been able to smile, for real, in a long time. Some would say it's sad, she says it's normal. It's just a fact she's had to live with for a long time. "So.. What else do you like to do for fun?"

"H-hybrid? What's that?" She shivered. She then felt a wave of exhaustion pass over her due to the day's event. She yawned and, though fighting it, fell asleep on the garage floor with Samantha comfortingly looming over her.

Samantha's attention was broken when the girl asked her a question. She looked back at the girl to answer, only to see she was fast asleep. At least she wasn't panicking anymore. She took off her jacket and wrapped it around the kid. She couldn't leave the orphan, but she couldn't stay. Before she could figure out what to do, she had to make sure Daniel understood that he had to be quiet. "Daniel, I'm serious. They will take her away," she paused, looking back at him. Panicking won't help. "Let's just figure out what we should do. She's exhausted and needs help, regardless of her power."

Sebastian didn't say anything during most of the conversation. He felt really sorry for the girl. Seb always wandered what is so wrong about being a hybrid... being more powerful, more advanced? This caused normal people to fear us, and because of them some hybrids can't even have a normal life. "I mean, what's the point of telling anyone" He mumbled under his breath. " We could take her to one of our homes or wait for her to wake up and think about it then" He said, he wouldn't be surprised if they didn't want to take her home... after all she's still a hybrid. He just barely noticed Samantha's fingernails were digging into her palms, he knew better than to ask and so he patted her shoulder whispering " If you don't stop you may start to bleed"
