“Oh! Yeah, sure,” she said, handing the camera to Jo. “Theyre not great, but hey, it’s a hobby..” She sure hoped she didn’t leave anything embarrassing on there... Jo seemed nice enough, it might be nice to have some friends around the city. “So, uh, Jo... not to pry or anything, but I don’t think I’ve seen you around... do you live in these apartments?..” Might as well try a bit of small talk. Carmen still wasn’t sure about what she saw in the photograph. If there really were other people with powers, she wasn’t even sure if she’d want to know. She thought about asking about the flame in the picture, but ultimately decided against it. For now.

"Well, I mean, yeah, but-" Daniel rubbed the bridge of his nose. "You don't just say that to little kids." This girl seemed pretty unfiltered. Maybe she just didn't care to filter herself. "Well, yeah, I shouldn't have," He paused for a moment. "To be fair though, she did say 'damn it' earlier." Turning his attention away from Samantha, he heard the stranger offer them apples. Daniel turned to the guy. He was gonna answer when the little girl started talking. "Wait, you don't even know for sure how old you are?" She didn't know her name or her age? "Just what kind of life have you been living?"

"Yeah, I'm in a room in one of the top blocks." She sighed, looking through the pictures. They were actually very good, but so far there were no nature pictures. "These are really good! I couldn't possibily do anything like this. But according to an old friend of mine, I could draw these almost perfectly." She thought about Alex. She'd been through a lot, and they'd shared the same power. She'd settled down with a nice girl, although she couldn't remember her name. Maybe it was Wil? She wasn't sure. But she'd gone and got herself killed going to help someone. Or something. She couldn't quite remember.

"I'm Sebastian" he said waving at the girl. He laughed at the two arguing over saying 'damn'. "Wait, does 'damn' count as a curse?" He asked, eyes wide.
Seb looked at the little girl talking about her age. He had no idea what to say, he was happy someone else spoke.
"It must be hard, right?" He asked the girl moments after the other boy spoke up. "Life is pretty hard after all..." He said quietly, smiling gently, he couldn't comprehend how such a young girl could survive in this world like this by herself.

"My life? I think it's been fine. I- I guess. I kind of live alone, steal things from others to stay alive. I'm always running from the cops, but I mean, it's good exercise. In my free time, I make art-" She gestured to the ceiling, walls, and floors, all covered in graffiti, and her arms and legs, tattooed by herself. "I once got my hands on pencil and paper- the rain destroyed the paper, but I had managed to draw some things. Otherwise, I mostly live off of tea- I don't ever really eat or drink out of necessity, because, I mean.. I've never had to. I assume you all don't, either. Food and drink is just a luxury. I've gone a few years without food and drink as a baby, obviously, and it was fine, but-" She cut herself off as she realized she was blabbering, and blushed. "Sorry. I'll let you speak."

Samantha shook her head when the stranger offered an apple. She wasn't going to take help from somebody she just met. She glanced at the girl when she spoke, empathy compelling her to not further mock her. She had no family or friends, and the threat of death was looming over her every day. She didn't even know how old she was. That wasn't a life. Something stood out as she processed what she said. "You don't need to eat or drink?" she asked, her eyes widening.

"Aw, thanks so much! I've always liked photography... " This conversation seemed to be going surprisingly well, considering she had just been caught taking a picture of somebody she had never met before. Jo seemed like an interesting person, and Carmen still couldn't shake the feeling that they had something in common. "I think there's something wrong with my lens, though... There was a weird light in that picture I took of you." That must be it. Something wrong with her lens.

Jo froze, looking to Carme with a smile she hoped would cover her shock. She hadn't gotten a good look at the picture, but from what she could tell, she'd snapped a picture of her creating her flame. She was so relieved she'd had her delete it, especially now. "Must be just that. It used to happen to my friend all the time. Might want to clean that lense, then," she joked, jumping atop the vent. "You can stand up, you know." Swinging her legs, she softly kicked the vent, looking at the mysterious girl.

Carmen sensed a sudden tenseness in Jo, but chose to ignore it. She shifted to a more comfortable position. She never noticed how uncomfortable sitting on this roof was. “Yeah... I’m sure it was just a bit of dust or something.” She’d never seen dust do something like that, but who knows. “So this friend of yours... she seems pretty interesting, does she live around here?”

She had to ask, didn't she? "Well... She did. Before she died." She hoped she didn't ask how, because frankly she couldn't remember for starters. Plus, she just didn't want to talk about Alex. Jo laughed at Carmen's joke. "Yeah, not unless you're up here. But, uh, it's pretty dusty down there sometimes, so be careful." She gave a knowing smile. One day she'd almost been caught because she walked back to her apartment with dust caking the back of her legs. She'd worn black pants. How silly of her. She knew never to do that again.
