The Luxens are depending on you. Their rivalry against the Mørklox is anything but a secret within Chrysolitus. After a war for territory and power, the entire Luxen royal army was wiped out, alongside a majority of the royal family. The ones left were the king and queen, along with some of their children: Ryker, Evren, Naevys and Andromeda Xyrcan. The youngest five died fighting and the king and queen were fatally wounded. Their final request was for their children to kill them and use their remaining magickal essence to bring as many soldiers as they could back to life where they will train to overthrow the Mørklox and retake Chrysolitus.

The Xyrcans had no choice but to obey. Thus, Aphaeleon and Aurora Xyrcan were killed. Their magickal energy was distributed among twenty-two handpicked soldiers. Through the powers of the fallen king and queen, these soldiers developed two abilities. One of which being either enhanced strength, enhanced speed, or enhanced endurance. The other followed no pattern. The second power ranged from shapeshifting to x-ray vision.

The Mørklox have allowed the Luxens to live as beings of the lowest class. They used to be the top of the hierarchy, and now, are heavily discriminated against. The remaining Luxens have moved to a remote village away from the Mørklox to train in secrecy because if they were to be discovered... They'd be executed for treason.

chrysolitus belongs to a planet that is split up by its prime meridian. while chrysolitus itself is the western hemisphere, vidreterra, the land of the nyban, is on the eastern side. chysolitus contains lush green forests and running rivers and streams, clear of pollution. most villages are small, and the only large city is the one that contains the castle which the mørklox have currently taken control of. the luxens usually have their powers fully developed by the time they are seven years old, though there are some anomalies or "late bloomers". the royal family tends to have light-based power, but regular citizens or soldiers develop either enhanced strength, enhanced endurance, or enhanced speed. due to the king and queen's energy, the revived soldiers were able to gain a second random power. the princes originally had their "random power" but developed enhancements after exposure to the power of their parents. ryker was an anomaly and developed two enhancements. evren is the only one with photokinesis.

the nyban are hybrids between the luxen and wyverns. they have the ability to cover themselves in crystal as a defense mechanism, and are usually born with scales, tails, ivory hair, and violet eyes. vidreterra is covered in cave systems containing crystalline stalactites and stalagmites, along with streams that run through these caves. vegetation is unknown to them.

“They should be rising soon.”

“Yes. With newfound powers… They have emerged from within us… and as mother and father have said, they should be emerging from the Chosen as well.”

“Y’know, guys. I find it unfair that I only got to choose two people to revive.”

“Evren, the only reason you were able to choose anyone at all is because you didn’t try to push your luck this time.”

“Naevys, I hate you with all my heart.”

“You can’t hate Naevys… He saved your life in battle…” Andromeda finally butted into the conversation. Though they were quiet, there was a confident air to their voice. Perhaps Andre was the one who changed the most after the deaths of the king and queen.

“We’ve all saved one another at some point,” Ryker noted. “I just wish we could have saved more people. Some of the villagers are rioting against us… They wanna know why we didn’t save their children or… Mothers… Or… Fathers…”

Naevys placed a hand on his older brother’s shoulder. “We chose the elite, I suppose. Those with skills, loyalty, determination and so on.”

“We should have just stuck with the physically strong ones.”

“Evren, this is why you only got to choose two people to revive.”

“Acacia Jin was definitely worth it.”

“Then there was a reason to revive Runt as well.”

“Naevys, I’m not arguing with you about this!”

“Ren, you’re raising your voice.”

“There’s a reason we skipped the second in line to be king and went straight to the third…”

“I’ll take Evren outside.” Ryker guided his brother away from Naevys and Andromeda, promptly exiting the hut. The second Xyrcan boy didn’t fight. He couldn’t. He knew that his brothers were right. There was no way Evren could have the throne. He was the second born, but he wasn’t emotionally mature enough.

The hut containing the Chosen and the royals was set in the centre of the village, nestled safely among other buildings. At the moment, the evenly paved cobblestone outside was littered with debris and splattered with blood, both red and black. It was disastrous. Bodies were shoved to the sides of the streets to pave a way for others to get places. Andromeda had been nauseous at the sight. Evren and Naevys weren’t so bad but Ryker nearly broke down every time his eyes met the slaughter.

As soon as the Chosen began to awaken, Naevys coughed into his fist. Andromeda backed up to the doorway but remained as his older brother began to speak.

“Hello. The battle is over. You have all experienced death… and have returned from it. In the case none of you remember, I am Naevys Luxen Xyrcan of the royal family. Yes, my family… My father, Aphaeleon Xyrcan, my mother, Aurora Xyrcan, and my siblings, Ryker, Evren, Andromeda, Sybil, Zadkiel, Zenaida, Galaxa, and Bellaluna have entrusted the throne to me after the deaths of the King, the Queen, and the youngest five.” Naevys stopped to take a breath. “They bravely fought and commanded the royal army but everyone perished.

"With their words dying on their lips, my father requested that we use his remaining life energy, alongside my mother’s, to bring back as many lives as we could. There are twenty-two of you… Merely a segment of the army that has not reached even a single percent of our original numbers. However, you have all grown in strength. That is for certain. The city has been taken over by the Mørklox and we have been left alive only to become a new form of vermin. I reject this oppression, as do my siblings. So, I hope you will all cooperate with my remaining siblings and I… follow us so we may retake what once was ours.”

“Of course,” says Andromeda after a few solid seconds of silence. “This is not a requirement. Merely a plea. I would hate to be impolite...”
