Soren stood patiently, shifting his feet a bit and changing his stance so he could better balance himself. He held Basil's hand as she entered the water, sticking close to the edge to give a bit of support. He opened his wings, flapping them a few times to shake out some more water. He was curious, glancing over to Donatello and Alex. Don seemed difficult to move, and he wondered silently if Basil's outburst even meant anything to him. He sighed softly, looking back at the forest after a few moments of his attention lingering on the others. He raised up his free hand to his neck, using a small surge of his power to help his throat recover, figuring it'd be better not to lose his voice. His gaze turned up, smoke not very visible against the dark sky. "Alright... let's get going," he spoke up, fixing his scarf a bit so it covered his mouth again. He looked back towards Basil, steadying himself to secure his footing so he could help her from the water.

Arkady's paws and sharp nails hit the marble floor with each step as she ran down the hall with Hawthorne. The corners of her mouth turned upwards, her joy clear on her face. "You're fast for a human." The smells of food were left behind and the royals' scent became stronger. Arkady ran up to the main exit of the palace and came to a stop. I can't open the doors... Luckily, Hawthorne was right next to her and he would be able to.

Donnie glanced towards Alexandria, not exactly having expected the question. "What? Stay cool?" He tsked and rubbed his neck, a habit he still wasn't shaking anytime soon, "Lots of practice kid" he muttered and put his hands in his pockets. "Hey Spencer, we could use a nose to warn us if Howlers are nearby" he said, laughing softly at Spencer's long and exaggerated groan. She didn't exactly hate shifting but she wasn't use to the heightened senses that came along with it. Shifting into a clouded leopard, Spencer didn't wait for the Royals and neither did Donnie. Spencer led the way through into hazy forest while Donnie cautiously followed after. "Do try and not to get killed" he called out then added, "Or not"

Basil felt a familiar rise of panic in her throat as she waded mostly into the water. Even though she was holding Soren's hand, she felt unsteady on the slippery rocks. She only waded up to her chest before hurriedly scrambling back to shore. I can't do it The last thing she needed was to break down in panic. Basil quickly took her hand back, crossing her arms over her chest. " Thank you..." Basil murmured quietly to Soren, her voice barely a whisper. She kept her head down ashamedly. All the others had gone into the water fearlessly and here she was nearly having another panic attack. Basil hated feeling like this, like she was the weak one in the group. After all, she wasn't built for doing things like putting out forest fires. She was more at home studying and painting. Basil would have trudged home to Solodin right then if they didn't need her powers. Basil only lifted her head as she noticed Donnie and Spencer leaving. Though, she still didnt say anything or attempt to follow them.

" Thank you, I try" Hawthorne chuckled, not even out of breath yet. He smiled back at the wolf. Clearly, he was enjoying himself as well. Hawthorne's boots made soft, almost inaudible noises as he ran down the hall with her. Almost without breaking stride, he opened the heavy doors to the palace. The captain let Arkady go first, then he followed her out and shut the door behind him silently.

Arkady ran out the doors and looked up at the night sky. The moon shined brightly and stars were scattered around. The scent led her to the forest and she glanced back at Hawthorne before looking ahead again. She didn't want to tell him that they were headed towards the waterfall, but he would know soon enough. Arkady picked up her pace and pine needles and old leaves crunched under her steps. "Hawthorne, you're going to want to be careful. We're going above ground." The sound of rushing water filled her ears and she could see the entrance to the world above.

Soren bit his lip slightly, as Basil seemed to react less than ideally to the water. When she got out and drew her hand away, he gave a small nod. "No problem," he spoke in turn. He was quiet, watching Don and Spencer leave for a moment. "... Don't worry about it. I wouldn't have even gotten in the water if I wasn't forced to." He held a light tone, joking slightly. "At least you did it, and that's good." He was trying to be reassuring in some sense, though he didn't wholly know what to say. "We have to get going." He waved his hand, beckoning Basil to follow as he took a few steps to following the others. But he slowed, hesitating, then spoke something different than his original thought. "... Are you all right? Something's bothering you." However much he wanted to help, though his sister was a bigger concern to him, and he didn't mind falling behind the others. He turned to better face her, head tilted.

Hawthorne followed Arkady easily. Though, as they headed out of Solodin, his good mood faded. What are they doing here? What in the world were they thinking? The captain's frown deepened What if they had been caught by Howlers. Hawthorne's hand went to the sword on his hip. He was on edge, all of his senses alert. " Are we getting any closer to them?" He asked, instinctivly lowering his voice. He knew that Arkady would find them long before he would, even with all of his training.

Arkady nodded and went closer to the opening in the water fall. Her paws slipped against the wet stones as she walked. Her muscles went rigid and she tried to get a better grip before continuing. She made her way over to the entrance and nodded at Hawthorne's question. "We're close. Are you ready?" Her pelt was getting wet from the spraying water and she prepared herself for the cold wall of water she would soon walk through.

Basil mustered up a small smile at his comment about the water. " Yeah..." She said quietly. Basil shivered slightly in the cool night breeze. Though she had been completely soaked, it was still a bit chilly. Basil looked down, realizing her brother had picked up on her unhappiness." I'm alright..." She lied quietly," It..it was just the water... scared me... i guess... ". The princess bit her lip, knowing that he would see through her lie. Basil knew she wasnt fooling anyone. But, she didnt know if she could explain it, or if it were the right time. I just want to go home... She thought unhappily I never should have been out here in the first place. Basil swallowed hard, feeling the tears well up in her eyes. Angrily, she swiped them away before she started to cry. Im eighteen, i dont need to be crying like thisShe thought. Basil crossed her arms over her chest again, " Come on... we... we need to catch up with the others.." She said quietly, once she had regained her composure somewhat.
