Maria smiled as he spoke of Jessica. “Well I’m glad to see she is in good care. I would had told her about herself but she looked too much like her mother and it didn’t sit well in my heart to see her life in more danger than needed. I suppose that is my fault still. Any how, that would be quite terrible for those poor souls to fall victim to a bite. I’m assuming your pack kills those bitten.” The older woman crossed her arms as she didn’t care much for killing turned humans because they still had a life before the wolf, however just unfortunately luck.
Jessica had laid down slowly, taking the pain from her paw, as another wolf showed up. She assumed it was another one of the pack and didn’t say anything as she heard triko starting his story. Her eyes were like a pups and her tail swayed back and forth as she listened. The young wolf didn’t care for her bloodline as much but rather what her parents were like. Did Maria even know what she was? What if she knew her parents before their death? Even though she was always told there’s no sense in being up the dead, she couldn’t help but wonder what had happened the night of the crash. The night of the crash. Her face twisted in a confused expression she saw a flash of headlights heading for her. She jumped up as if it were real, having a repressed flashback. Her mother was reading a story from the front seat. Her father was listening to some sports talk on the radio. It must had been night time because the world outside the window was dark. They were driving down the road and in the distance, there was a car heading towards them on the opposite side. As it grew closer, it swerved into their lane and caused the car to roll off the side of the road. Jessica could see the blood dripping on to the ground and looked around disoriented. Her father was unconscious in the front seat and her mother’s hand had deep cuts from the glass. She was reaching out for her fathers hand but it fell short, ending her flash back. Jessica just looked stunned for the time being, staring at a tree across the river. Was it real? Did it really happen? Why was she having this now, after so long? What happened afterwards? How did she end up with Maria? So many questions filtered through her mind, she was giving herself a headache. She needed to ask Maria when she would see her and would try her best to forget about the memory till then.
