Triko looked at her and sighed. "It is very much true. That has been the whole point in all of this from the start. It is why you were locked up and why everyone has been so hot-headed. A bite from a wolf, like us can turn a human. Most cannot control it and end up spreading the infection. They almost always have to be put down. Castiel was the rare exception. He has managed to control what he became and even became part of this pack." He was silent for a moment before leaning forward in the chair and resting his arms on the table. "There is a law in this pack and I suggest you listen to it well. Because even if you are not a member of the pack it is our responsibility to enforce it." He looked directly at Jessica. "If a wolf does bit a human we do not give them the chance for their body to reject the bite and drive them mad. If they are bitten they are to be put down. It is the responsibility of the wolf who bites them to kill them. It is a way for that wolf to understand the weight of their actions. So listen well and do your best. It is very rare for Novak to volunteer to teach anyone. Much less so an outsider who lives with a human."

Jessica listened to his explanation, along with the rules but when it came to consequences, she looked away, acting like a younger kid. Leaning back in the chair and her arms folded over each other, she looked towards the ground. “I don’t want Shane to even live with this curse. I won’t go back to him till Novak knows I can control. I don’t want to hurt him or anyone for that matter.” The pressure in her back wore off and she was starting to feel normal as can be, aside from being out of her wolf form. At least she was comfortable enough to be out of it with the guys around her. Normally she felt vulnerable and weak as a human.

Triko nodded. "That's a good start. At least you're thinking with a level head and understanding the consequences of the actions you would be taking." He was glad that she actually understood and was willing to learn without causing trouble about it. They did not need another epidemic on their paws.

Jessica looked up to triko and smirked. “I might act like a priss but I don’t like hurting anyone unless I have to. Pain and blood was never my thing.” She raised an eyebrow and looked up. “That was till this thing with the shifting started happening. The blood part I don’t know why it is so strongly needed.” She frowned, not able to wrap her mind around it yet.

Triko nodded. "Tell me. Have you ever hunted? Not just tracked an animal but went through for the kill?" He asked her. e knew that most young wolves got that craving when they first started to turn. It was the prey drive kicking in full force. It was not a pretty thing for those who did not know what they were.

Jessica shook her head as confusion came across her face. “Uh, I actually never hunted or tracked an animal. Shane hunts but normally I would just accompany him for protection so to say. I didn’t want something to harm him or him get lose or hurt.” She shrugged. It wasn’t something she thought much about.

Triko chuckled a bit. "That is where the taste for blood is coming from then. Most young wolves make their first hunt after they shift. It often helps to settle things a bit and help the transition go smoother." He looked at her with a light smile. "Perhaps one of us should take you out hunting soon." He suggested.

Jessica was uncomfortable with the idea of hunting and it showed. “I don’t like hurting anything.” She suddenly became shy with the idea of going out into the woods and tracking an animal just to kill it. The wolf didn’t like to consider herself a predator unless it was going to harm someone close to her.

Castiel listened quietly, once more confronted with his past, what he once was and how he came to be who he was. He avoided his past as much as possible, even though he knew it was better to confront it. Cass sighed and looked at Jessica. "You'll need to learn how to hunt," he interfered. He saw how uncomfortable she was with that idea. "It's important, it's part of who you are. Wolves hunt and kill to sustain themselves. And it's not pretty, but it's nature. You'll need to learn how to hunt in case you'll find yourself alone and lost some time."

Novak's ear twitched to hearing Brahn's growl. He was awake but remained as he was. Still and with eyes closed, he listened. He heard the name that Brahn spoke. He had heard it on and off throughout their lives but did not know who it was. He had never pried into his past any more than the warrior had pried into his. He knew that he was speaking to him when he heard him asking him not to die. He remained silent for a while before he opened his eyes and looked at Brahn. "I will try to prevent what is to come. The future can always be changed." He told him quietly. "For now. We could both use the sleep."

Brahn waited patiently for Novak's answer. "The future...can change...but not always." he said. He lowered his ears slightly. Sleep was not something that he would have this night. "Yes. We can. Please get some sleep Novak." Brahn stared out into the gorge as he worked on getting his mind together once again. He was not as relaxed as he was just moments ago. The warrior was back on guard, his body and now his mind, back at attention.
