Welcome To Wolf Mountain
This mountain has been protected by one pack since the dawn of time. A responsibility passed down from Alpha to Alpha. The mountain belongs to the pack or rather the pack belongs to the mountain. Most were born here though some have come from other lands. The mountain can be treacherous if you do not know the terrain. There are many hidden dangers within the forests and caves. One could easily get lost. For generations, the wolves and humans in the village of the clearing have co-existed. Humans never venturing too far into the mountains, just far enough to hunt a deer or rabbit or catch some fish. The wolves, in turn, do not venture into the village, well not as wolves anyway. They do go into the village as humans, some even have shops in the small town.
The mountain could be in danger with the humans now wanting to move farther into the pack territory. There are humans coming in from the cities that want to build resorts and theme parks. This of cores would bring disaster to the werewolves who live in these mountains. There are some humans who are on the wolves side. However, that might not be enough to stop disaster from falling on both the wolves and villagers alike. With the corporate businesses in the cities have sent hunter in to eliminate the problem, as far as the animals go. The villagers do not know who they can completely trust.
The romantic interaction between wolves and humans has always been forbidden. Interaction of most kind for that matter, aside from what is necessary to not draw too much attention to the pack. What will be the fate of Wolf Mountain? What part will you play?
-The Territory -
The mountain range that the pack controls is vast. It is not limited to only one side of the town but all around it. The village was built is what was once a clearing. There is one road both in and out of the town. There are some tourists who come and go in the summer and those who live there year round. The wolves stay out of town unless in human form.
There are catacombs within the mountains used for more than just the burial of the dead, but right of passage ceremonies as well. Far beneath the lush forest and mountain, inside the earth are chambers that were formed long ago by generations past. A network of tunnels and carved out rooms. It is referred to as the labyrinth. For if you do not know your way through it you will be forever lost, that is unless those of the pack who know the way take pity on you and bring you back. This labyrinth runs from the mountains and far beneath the town. The pack knows the labyrinth well enough to not get lost. It is where those who can not control their shift are kept during a full moon or where the pack as a whole stays on a blue moon. Within the labyrinth is a wall of cells, called 'The Keep'. It is where those who dare trespass in the pack's territory are kept until their fate is decided. [both wolf and human alike] The Keep is having enough cells to hold an entire pack of wolves if it had too.

Most would seek to capture them and put them in labs. The wolves have been in these mountains forever. They live and die here. They protect the mountains from the destruction that humans have brought the rest of the world. There are many homes in the mountains in which the wolves live. There are also many caves and tunnels leading through the mountains that can be used to evade capture or being found by humans. Many wolves work down in the village to keep suspicions low. Though most of the young wolves are homeschooled some do go to school with humans as well. Though when it comes to the pack the youth are those who are not old enough for ranks so they more or less shadow/understudy other pack members.
Most wolves range in size from four to seven feet in height when in their wolf form. Though being larger does not always mean being better. The larger the wolf the harder it can be to conceal one's self. Most are able to control their shift between the ages of fifteen and twenty. Some learn early while others learn late. It depends on the level of discipline they possess. Not all werewolves are forced to shift on a full moon but a great deal of them are. However, all end up shifting if there are two full moons in the same month or a 'Blue Moon'. It is when the wolves are under the control of the moon that they are the most dangerous. Therefore on the full moon, most all who fall prey to the moon are hidden away in the Labyrinth, and all are concealed on a Blue moon. Or else they risk exposure due to the overpowering urge to kill. They would likely venture into the town and expose themselves while killing humans.
A wolf's bite can turn a human into a werewolf. However, a great number of purebloods' consider 'bitten' wolves to be abominations and parasites. Bodies that are already dead. If is very rare for a bitten to gain control as a werewolf. Most will go mad with bloodlust and become consumed by the beast and are no longer able to change back to humans. It is the responsibility of anyone who bites a human to 'put them down'.
