The young teen immediately straightened the furniture behind him, his heart racing but trying hard to not let it show in his breath. That was one of the survival techniques he was taught to use against predators... Except it seemed now that he was the only threat to himself at the moment. The blue-haired boy drew his fingers through his hair to avoid eye contact with the other student who's attention would have surely been drawn to the noise. "I'm very sorry..." He murmured quietly, stiffening again when he took away his hand and saw how close the girl had moved to help him. "I'm-I'm fine, thank you." Jay's voice was surprisingly robotic for his flushed face. He had heard once from a book that first appearances mattered, and this introduction only made him seem foolish. The boy dipped his head to the other hybrid respectfully. "I'm terribly sorry to have interrupted your... Meal?" He guessed, his eyes scanning over the cafeteria in order to once again avoid eye contact. It truly was a meal place, he discovered. It was not like the system he had been fed with, where you were given an amount of food and then completed various tasks in order to receive treats. Jay shook his head abruptly before looking back up to Mina. Her smile was meant to be reassuring, Jay knew, but perhaps it was one of pity. "Ex six-" he began to say automatically, though he stumbled over the ending and coughed to correct himself. "I am Jay Reeves, and once again I am sorry for my actions. It was truly my own fault. If I may know, are you called something as well?" The half-bird's face grew hot at his own introduction. It had not been what he expected, but perhaps he could get some help? The girl seemed friendly enough...

X There was a sparkle of admiration in her eye at the water and its flowing shape; the draft of chlorine caught his nose and the reflection the water emitted. He could see that shimmer in her eye. She must have really liked water. He could see inspiration flow within her dark blue irises. The blonde girl seemed almost to play with it, and he caught the little comment she had made just before entering. "Much.. cleaner than the water through the forest.. Hm. Is it from the forest? Why does it smell.. good!?" She was new to the whole 'human' thing as well, eh? That would take even more time getting used to. But as he had come into the picture, she gave a loud outburst and fell back in her shock. He was left to grin and laugh at the scene in a humored way. This is what he lived for, to scare people. Alistair rubbed the back of his neck and was swift to listen to what she had to say. But he was really tempted to chime in. "O-Oh.. Sorry about that.. I uh, didn't know you were there.." His eyes trailed her as she lifted on her feet. "Darn, you take one look at me and you freak out." He teased and acted like he was brushing a tear aside. "I'm so offended." There was a long smirk that fell from his lips after that, as he studied her reaction and laughed. And he fixed his jacket collar and stepped from the edge of the pool. "Yep! I'm ready!" At least they were making some progress. He nodded his head briefly, still with a warmth to him. And he couldn't help himself but ask her real quick, "how long have you been human?" Alistair seemed quite curious by the response. Then he began to lead the way out of the pool room to head to her dorm; making sure she would take lead.
As they arrived, he spotted the baggage out in front of the door and he gave her a smug look. "Seems okay," he smiled. "I'll help you bring it in if you want." X

Jay, was his name. Now she knew that. He seemed to be acting automatically, saying things as if he had been trained to say them. It struck her as odd, but she didn't let it bother her. He kept apologizing, but he hadn't needed to.
"It's alright, there's nothing to interrupt,"She smiled again. Just like she had with Merdock, she didn't want to make people feel uncomfortable. He was blushing profusely now.
"My name is Mina. Hello Jay,"
She gave a slight nod. She was glad to know that he was okay. She turned to look at the second half of the grilled cheese she hadn't eaten yet.
"Are you hungry? I have a piece of sandwhich you can have."
She offered it to him because by the way he was acting, she wasn't so sure that he could order anything on his own. To her knowledge, everything must have seemed foreign to him.By now she could tell that he too must have been new. A part of her was hoping that he would say yes, so he wouldn't suffer in silence if he was hungry.

As they began walking, she finally had dedicated enough confidence to answer. She looked around making sure no one was there to hear. "Well.. I turned last week. I loved living out in the forest as a wolf.. I was forced to shapeshift back when I was accepted into the academy.. I still am really confused about it.." Pandora's eyes shifted to the bag in front of the door. "Oh! Here we are! I can't wait to get unpacked." She motioned towards it and lifted it into her arms. Pandora grinned at him and opened the door. It was her very own living space. Besides the dorm, she had quite the amount of privacy. Didn't seem like any of the dorm-mates were in it as well. Wow! I'm used to a den in the wilderness. Humans get this!? Wow! That's cool! Pandora had never expected this, she absentmindedly expected the home-spaces similar to what she previously had as a wolf. She threw her bag onto the bed and jumped onto the bed, sprawled. It reminded her of when she was a young wolf, she would jump into the soft, fresh flowers beds. Only it wasn't outside, and there weren't petals that flew up in the air afterwards. Being a wolf was fun, but she knew she'd need to explore the human world. "I honestly wasn't expecting this! I mean, it's so big and spacious!" She admitted, along with a small side-comment. She'd looked around later, as of now she'd get unpacking. She was sure she brought everything that was required. Her foster parents had packed all of her things for her, which Pandora thought was really nice. She then decided to share her other thought a few minutes before with him, thinking he'd understand. "Heh, i'm totally used to a den out in the wild, where most wolves call home.." She grinned and looked at him, sitting up straight and scooting to the edge of the bed. "Let's get started. shall we?" Pandora asked, her eyes twinkling with excitement and curiosity.

Jay slowly exhaled at the gradual calming of the situation. Hearing Mina's words comforted him a bit, though if it was true or only said to make him feel better he did not know. "H-hello, Mina..?" His voice rose an octave higher in question as he considered the pronunciation. When she moved to look behind her he did as well. "... If you will not eat it, then I s-suppose I could finish it off..." The boy agreed, his blush lessening a great deal though it wasn't as obvious with his fair skin. He had been unintentionally eyeing the sandwich ever since it came into view, and he was surprised but pleased at Mina's offer. The smell of the grilled cheese seemed to overtake his senses unlike any of the food he had had in the lab, but he still waited for Mina to give it to him. Was he really that obvious? His eyes moved to see the line of already prepared food that was being offered and considered going over to get something himself, though his body wouldn't let him take a step with how complicated the whole procedure was. Turning back to Mina, Jay questioned, "This is an academy, correct?" Though he tried to keep a straight face an unsure expression had make its way onto it.

X They made their way to the door, the sounds of their footsteps echoed off the walls and back into their ears. He took a quick glance at the area. It was nice, though looked just like the boy's dorm. Were boys not allowed here? He wondered this. 'Well, it's not like I'm doing anything wrong. I'm just helping her out.' Plus, no one else was here, it should be fine. He looked up from the luggage and listened to her speak. "Well.. I turned last week. I loved living out in the forest as a wolf.. I was forced to shapeshift back when I was accepted into the academy.. I still am really confused about it.." Ah. This explained a lot. He sent her a reassuring smile and he nodded his head warmly. "Man, that is really fast. This all must be so overwhelming for you then." Slade was rather calm about this whole event, and sweet to her as she went into her dorm to examine it. Every ounce of the place seemed to be taken in, there was such wonder, such amazement. Alistair laughed and picked up one of her bags and set it down inside, beside the wall; she continued to peek around and lie sprawled over her bed. "I honestly wasn't expecting this! I mean, it's so big and spacious!" He nodded his head. "That's human life or you! It's got some perks." Brushing his hands together, his eyes flicked back outside the room; he picked up on her comment about the wild. "Heh, i'm totally used to a den out in the wild, where most wolves call home.." "I get ya! I was the same way, believe me. Having the fresh air! The rain! The annoying and pesky wildlife." Knowing what is what like, he smiled back and nodded to her next comment and looked to the other bags. "How about I bring the stuff in and you pack. What's your name anyway?" X

Pandora felt honored to be here. Like, special! She didn't know why.. but deep in her perspective she took this whole Accepted into this random academy thing personally, like it was a big privilege. Then again it was probably just her. Pandora wondered if he felt the same, all until he began to talk as well. She grinned at him after he talked. "Yeah, it really is. But i've learned to get used to it, ya know?" She cocked her head and fixed her gaze onto one of her bags. She continued to lay on her back and look at the ceiling, then turn her head to face him. She felt silly on her back, but that was who she was, a childish girl. Pandora gazed out of her window, it held a nice view. Her faith for the human world and excitement increased when he'd said something about perks and a human life. "Y-yeah! I'm excited! If i've seen well.. all of this, who knows what else awaits me, hah!" Pandora grinned and took a moment to stretch, making her even more sprawled. Pandora's spirit rose through the roof as he had related to what she'd said previously. "R-Really?! That's great! I mean, I didn't think anyone would think that but you do! T-Thanks for understanding! Also yeah, totally can relate! Pesky bears and foxes.. stealing my dens all the time!" Pandora added, teasingly. "Yeah! That could work." Pandora replied to his ending question. Only until her face stiffened and a hue of red appeared faintly on her cheeks. She didn't expect him to ask her name that quickly, but she wanted him to know anyways. W-Will he make fun of it? Will he like it? Is it normal!? Pandora looked around and finally gathered enough courage to speak. "I-It's.. Pandora." She was eager for a response of what he thought of it. After this, she was more than curious for his.. but she didn't want to ask yet, maybe in a response he'd naturally say it. Instead, she just waited on the bed while looking on him, with a grin.

She saw Jay eyeing up the other food that was being prepared. She thought that maybe he would enjoy the fresh meals better.
"You certainly don't have to. If you'd like to sit with me and eat, you are welcome to."
Since he seemed to be all alone, she thought the offer would. e a kind gesture, since being new wasn't always an easy thing. But she'd keep her guard up with him. Though he seemed timid as she was, she didn't know him, and couldn't let everyone in to her life. Down the road perhaps they'd be friends. She chimed up though when he kept the conversation going.
"Yes it is! As far as I know. Today is my first day here,"
Her smile beamed. She wanted to appear as friendly as she could for the newcomer. She knew that she was indeed a goody two shoes and the nice girl, but she had been walked on too many times. Still, her motto always was to be kind until crossed.She had only been crossed once in her life, but it didn't end pretty. This Jay looked as though he was a timid soul such as herself, so she would play nice until it was time for her to go.This time she wouldn't ask too many questions and let him do the speaking.

He sighed before thinking a little
"I bet I could take you boz on wiz boze 'ands tied behind my back in ze pool."
And seemingly grinned while admiring his nails
"But I do not wish to ah.. drown.. anyone today."
He glanced up at the other two before loosing the smile and frowning again

He grinned, then finished his bagle. He didnt call him sunshine to annoy him.
"So my weakness is tour strength and you can take us in the pool... sounds like your strength lies in the water."
He crossed his arms, grinning.
"So is mine."
He kept his eyes on Aristide. He wasnt that bad. First impressions often were wrong. Did tgis guy have a lot of anger tucked away inside?
The guy didnt look odd. He was curious if he was a mutant too. And if so, what would his mutation be?
