Welcome to Black Flag, a pirates role-play. This role-play is set in the land of Roannis, a mythical and magical land of fantastical creatures and beings. This world is filled to the teeth with everything from krakens to talking dolphins, water dragons to shape-shifters. In this world, there are two main factions, pirates and privateers. The pirate gangs are known as Black Skull, The Russet Cartel, and Vexelere. The privateers are known as Prince Carrel's Fleet, Queen Hilda's Fleet, and King Edward's Fleet.

The Ebony Arrow {The Arrow}

Fastest Ship

The Ebony Arrow is a long, thin vessel. It is built for speed and to outrun other ships. It has a deep black hull and a figurehead in the shape of a roaring sea dragon. It has tall masts and black sails to match the hull. It flies the flag of Black Skull. This is simply a version of the Jolly Roger with inverted colors and arrows instead of bones behind the skull.

Russet Cartel
The Blood Maiden {The Maiden}

Strongest cannons

The Blood Maiden is a huge ship of war. It is built for siege and attacks. Its hull is a deep red and its figurehead is a mermaid gazing at the sea. It has average sized masts and pristine white sails with red embroidery. It flies the Jolly Roger as well as the flag of the Russet Cartel. The Cartel's sign is a bag of coins with a snake wrapped around the neck of it.

The Western Warrior is a medium sized ship. It isn't built to do anything particularly well, but to perform everything efficiently. Its hull is the color of natural wood and its figurehead is a falcon with spread wings. It has average sized masts and tannish sails. It flies the Jolly Roger.

The Sea Song is a large, brilliantly painted ship. It is built to be used in clever, unexpected ways. Its hull is a deep purple and its figurehead is a leaping dolphin. It has extremely tall masts and deep purple sails. It flies the flag of the king.

The Blue Grazer {Ol' Blue//The Grazer}

The Blue Grazer is a large ship. It is built to be efficient when it comes to battle. Its hull is a royal blue and its figurehead is a siren. This is the oldest of the six flagships, leading to the nickname Ol' Blue. It has average masts and royal blue sails. It flies the flag of the king.

The Pride of El' Maria {Fair Maria}

The Pride of El' Maria is a medium sized ship. It is built mostly for its looks, but is also efficient in combat. Its hull is a dark orange and its figurehead is a woman with extremely long hair with a flower in it. It has a little taller than average masts and white sails. It flies the flag of the king.

Roannis is a world filled with many races. Many of these races are beast-like, but a couple are humanoid. The humanoids include {But are not limited to} Humans, Elves, Dwarves, Faeren, Vampires, and Werewolves.

65-70 years

Humans are a well rounded race that favor the privateers. They have no
powers, but are stubborn and hardy. The royal family of El' Maria have
always been human.

Elves

Adult height range:
5' 2"-6' 6"

Adult weight range:
90 lbs to 270 lbs

Average lifespan:
75-80 years

Elves are a race similar to humans, but they are longer lived and faster.
They have the same strength as humans and tend to side with the
privateers. All elves have pointed ears and fair skin.

Dwarves

Adult height range:
4' 4"-5' 6"

Adult weight range:
170 lbs to 350 lbs

Average lifespan:
110- 120 years

Dwarves are a long-lived and strong race. They are plump, stout, and short,
but loyal and stubborn. Most dwarves side with privateers. All males
have long, possibly braided beards.

Vampires

Adult height range:
5' 3" to 6' 8"

Adult weight range:
70 lbs to 200 lbs

Adult life span:
55-60 years

Vampires are a short-lived race that survive on blood. They are very
lightweight, tall and pale. Vampires tend to side with pirates. All
vampires have red or yellow eyes and fangs as well as slightly pointed ears.

Werewolves

Adult height range:
5' 7"-7' 5"

Adult weight range:
190 lbs to 400 lbs

Average life span:
110-120 years

Werewolves are a heavily built, long lives race. They can transform
into great wolves at will, but all werewolves transform on full
moon. They have a much greater chance of losing control on
full moon, so many spend that day alone or indoors. Werewolves
tend to side with pirates. all werewolves have wolf tails while in
human form.

Faeren

5' 5"-7'

Adult weight range:
80 lbs to 260 lbs

Average lifespan:
110-120 years

Faeren are a tribal race originating on the isle of Fae. They have animal ears
and tails, and can shapeshift into whatever animal they represent. When
they come of age, however, Faeren can chose to trade their shape
shifting for a different power. Faeren that choose this path are
sent off the island and into the world. Sometimes Faeren
choose to leave even if they don't swap powers. They tend
to side with pirates. All Faeren have animal ears and a
tail, even if they swapped powers.

Pathfinder

Pathfinders are ancient creatures that guide ships. Pathfinders are humanoids {may take the form of any race} that turn into intelligent sea creatures when they touch a body of salt water. Pathfinders guide ships through the seas, and take the lead in stormy weather. Pathfinders are considered a high rank.

Captain

Captains are in charge of their ship and the band they are in. Pirate captains answer to nobody, and privateer captains answer to the royal family. Captains are considered a high rank.

First Mate

First mates are in charge when the captain is away. They help keep order within the crew and help give commands. First mates are considered a high rank.

Second Mate

Second mates are just like normal crew members, except for they help keep the peace between crew and captain and serve to deliver the captain and first mate's orders. Second mates are in charge if both captain and first mate are away. Second mates are considered half a high rank.

Healer

Healers help to cook and keep the crew healthy. They take care of any injuries until port can be reached. They are considered half a high rank.

Crew

The average workers on a ship. Not considered a high rank.

Greenhorns

Greenhorns are inexperienced sailors currently learning the ropes of the sailing. Not a high rank.

Maven's thin, muscular arms lay on the wheel as she stared at the sky. It was a marvelous day for sailing. If you weren't like Maven, that is. The sky was clear and a beautiful blue, unmarked by clouds. However, the young captain longed for a dark and forbidding storm on the horizon, or maybe an enraged sea serpent. To the Faeren woman, the only part of adventure that she despised was the part where the Arrow got beat up. It had been said before that Maven was married to her ship and only her ship, the reason she never had relationships with anyone. This was partly true, but not completely. The other half of it was that she simply couldn't find anyone that she didn't think was a complete idiot.
