She distractedly played with Jax’s hand as he spoke, adverting her gaze in a subconscious attempt to seem less of mess than she was at the moment. A grimace contorted he face when he asked what had caused her violent mood swing since she wasn’t sure how to explain it herself. Any time she thought of her family too long she began to feel as if she were suffocating. For better or for worse, she was saved from having to answer the question by the knock at the door. She felt her heart jump and she looked at Jax, panicked.
”Why did I think this was a good idea?” She asked while skittering towards the door. With a deep breath she found the strength to open the door, revealing the towering figure of The General behind it.
“Um, hi.” Toni said numbly, tucking her hair behind her ears and staring at him rather dumbstruck, as if she had completely forgotten why this man was standing in her doorway and that she should probably invite him in.
Damian
He relaxed slowly as Rachyl informed him that Agness hadn’t appeared to have been seriously injured and that both his children had been escorted home safely. The sense of relief however was fleeting as what she said about Nicks strange behaviour seemed like it was definitely something worth Damian’s concern.
“That is...odd” He responded after some pause. His gaze shifted back to the soldiers escorting Neo ahead of them and realized he’d need to catch up to grant them further clearance to Neo’s cell.
“Thank you for letting me know, Rachyl.” He said with a curt nod of acknowledgement before her realized he was still holding on to her rather desperately. He cleared his throat, feeling oddly embarrassed all of the sudden before letting go.
“Sorry, about that. Um, we should hurry along.” Damian said before starting to walk hurriedly where they had been headed
