Magdalena glared at the woman for a minute. She was asking to work with her, although it was obvious Magdalena loathed her? Magdalena straightened up and sat cross-legged, her huge white wings folded behind her. "the only reason I would work with you is so I could be free again." she answered in a voice that let no room for negotiations.

She suppressed a sigh and lowered her gaze. "I'm sorry, but unless you want some other harpy to take your place, we cannot let you go. That is the one thing can't do..." But off work, in her spare time, she had been brainstorming on ways they could maybe get away with stretching their wings, and not getting away. Bird owners have it down. But for a harpy with human anatomy, some things would need to be changed. She gestured towards the feeding station where Perry was stuffing his face. "Aren't you hungry? I know they say some eat like a bird, but this is sort of ridiculous..."

Perry, now satisfied, waddled off from the feeding station and sat down to preen his feathers.

Anhrefn-dragonborn-female-south-tags open

Anhrefn leapt into the air and circled lazily. She had to keep flapping because of the dead air in the dome. "Maybe we could get a circulator in here," she mused.

Magdalena shook her head. "then I will not work with you. Not willingly anyway." She told the handler firmly. "And I'm not hungry either."

Linnae exhaled in anmoyance, but nodded her head curtly
. "Suit yourself," she said with a shrug. Hopefully Magdalena wijkd take care of herself. She could not free them, and the stubborn harpy refused to believe it. Linnae walked towards Perry and lightly stroked his head. "You need a good trim," she chuckled, moving the bangs from his eyes. "Come on over here where there's more light for me to work with." She led him over towards the door again, unlocking it and opening it enough to grip his scissors.

Perry trilled lowly in his throat at the strokes, grinning crookedly as Linnae swept his bangs from his eyes. Such actions weren't exactly possible with harpies of his build, and he appreciated the gesture immensely. He followed her as she went to retrieve the scissors and hardly moved during the trim. He glanced at Magdalena and ruffled his feathers at her.

Magdalena glared at perry. How could he enjoy that? She wouldn't let that human get that close to her.

"What's your name?" I ask the humanoid. "I'm Adira, a Dragonborn. What about you? Which category are you in?" I question him, intrigued by this new character.

Rushing around, I manage to get a couple of steaks and some potatoes, but no chips. I put them on a tray and and carefully carry the big tray back to the Dragonborn enclosure. "I'm back!" I call.

Once the trimming was done, she patted Perry on the cheek to let him know he was free to move, and she swept up the pieces of hair he'd dropped. "Let me know if either of you need anything. I can't stand here in this padding another minute... I'll be back to check on you later."
When she exited the exhibit, she looked back at them and waved goodbye before going on her way.

He hopped around excitedly once his haircut was complete and immediately went to the mirror within the enclosure to give himself a better look. He looked fine! If only he could flaunt it in front of some other harpy that wasn't such a grouch. But mirror-him was satisfying enough. He flew up to his regular perch and looked down at Magdalena. "You have those human hands, so you could never fully appreciate the feeling of a brand new cut. Or a pet on the face. Not that you could appreciate anything," he added lowly, facing away. "This place is the greatest. I couldn't imagine ever leaving it. So I don't get you." He looked down at her again and ruffled his feathers. "What was it about Outside that you miss so much?"

Magdalena sighed. "I miss the feeling of flying as high as I want, as far as I want. I miss being able to eat whenever I want, whatever I want. I miss the feeling of being able to do whatever I want. Of being free." she answered, staring off into space. She guessed the enclosure here wasn't too bad, but she felt locked up, cramped. Imprisoned.
