There were only two days left until Halloween yet it wasn't just a holiday for one weapon of the scientists. It was also the teenager's birthday and he would turn seventeen in three days, the only thing that he remembered even if he didn't remember his name. Nestled within an armchair the 5'5" teenager was curled up in a blanket like a cocoon, a book in his lap and a cup of hot chocolate with whip cream on a side table though at the moment the teen was staring out the window at the autumn night. His dark brown hair was wet from coming out of the shower, though the gentle patter of rain against the windowpane was soothing to the anti-social teen's ears. Looking close at the book spine were the words The Prince and the Pauper and then Mark Twain written beneath it. It was a new book, one the teen hadn't read yet, which is why he was seated within the armchair, one he had purchased himself with money stolen from a human a night ago.

Strengths: He is good with computers and has an affinity for finding shelter. Nature responds well to him and he is a good swimmer and climber. He likes working with his hands as it keeps him from dwelling on his past and tends to make an odd array of tools. He has sharp claws and teeth. His slim body makes him agile.
Weaknesses: He isn't very fast, only able to run at a maximum of 45 km/h which is the top speed for coywolves. He is afraid of fire and of enclosed spaces. Terrified of thunderstorms. The vast expanse of water bothers him and as a result he tends to stick close to shore when swimming. He likes children and will do what he can for them as he doesn't want them to suffer like he did among the humans. He doesn't do well in hot weather.
Personality: Rio is a generally patient person and a good listener to others' problems though he is no shrink by any mean. He is intelligent and cunning, traits of his hybrid coywolf breed. He deeply misses his parents as Rio has no idea that his mother survived but he has barely any memories of them due to he was very young when his life turned bad. Rio prefers his solitude and doesn't make friends or relationships easily, believing it's best to push people away and then when they get hurt or die, it won't affect him as much. He is wary of the scientists and tries to avoid them at all possible, as well as not speaking of his time in what he terms...that place or Brimstone. Rio feels torn...his wolf side calling to join the pack (i.e. the other hybrids) and his coyote side saying to remain alone. Rio doesn't like confrontations and generally is silent when in a crowd, observing what goes on around him without taking any part in the activities of the community.

Backstory: Rio was born in 2002 to Margaret and Jack Norton. When he was three, he and his parents were in New York visiting his aunt when they were in a car accident. His father was trying to avoid hitting a deer on the country road and lost control of the car, killing himself and his seriously injuring Margaret and Rio. Rio was ejected from the car and landed several feet away from his mother who was rescued. She was taken to the hospital in bad shape but survived...only to be told her son and husband had perished in the crash. But Rio wasn't dead. He had fallen down the side of a hill and lay crumpled at the bottom of the hill, hidden by some bushes. The only thing they found of Rio was a shoe and his teddy bear. He was found by a man and sold to the lab where he was healed and thereafter endured ten years of slavery and torture, believing his parents had both perished.

Other: Has a sweet tooth for anything chocolate and an omnivore. He can shapeshift into his coywolf form which is 4 1/2 feet long & 45 lbs. The experiment gave him bright amber eyes, ears and tail in human form, sharp teeth and sharp brown claws; and the keen senses and predatory instincts of the coyote/wolf.
Ranking: Although he is part of the pack, he is also not a part of it, his two canine sides at war with each other. His wolf says to join while his coyote says to remain solitary. If he is anything within the ranking of a dog or wolf pack, it would be as an omega.

The forest was silent except for the rain falling from the heavens, dark storm clouds overhead. Leaves rustled underfoot as a lanky figure walked over the leaves littering the ground on this autumn night, the leaves still clinging to the trees above but bringing out a ghostly color that was only seen three months of the year. Claws extended out from his fingers, amber eyes glittering in the darkness. The teenager sighed as he relished in the life-giving rains that fell onto the earth, a stick of fish slung over his shoulder, some dead rabbit and pheasant in a basket carried in his arms as he made his way towards the camp of the other experiments, which consisted of only two tents in the entire camp.

Entering the camp, the redhead didn't speak as he walked into the camp, heading past the alpha's tent as he looked for somewhere to put the food, not sure if the pack would be eating what he had hunted or not. Rio didn't tend to hang around the pack much or interact with anybody in the pack, his coyote side being against joining packs while his wolf side said to join for safety so he didn't know many people here despite being part of the pack for a few years.

Clemintine slowly followed Rio, scared to touch him. So, being the airhead and thinks with her body not head, she picks up a rock and throws it at rio's head, Nailing him in the back of the skull(not a big rock XD). "Yes!" she whispered as she waited for Rio to turn around.

Walking through the camp, the omega of the pack came to a stop as he felt something hit him in the back of the head. Turning around, he saw Clemitine, a girl who was a year older than himself staring at him. The only reason he knew her name and appearance was because she tended to be a ditz. Amber eyes looked down to what had hit him, a small rock, and the teen curled his upper lip over his teeth in a slight snarl, more annoyed than angry. "That hurt you know," Rio spoke spoke in his rich Irish baritone brogue. "Do you need something Clem?"

She saw Rio and Clementine, and waling forward curiously. She got a little closer, shifting her wings a bit. She had large wings that came from her back. She had slits cut in her shirt so she could be comfortable. She noticed his amber eyes. Beautiful eyes.she mentally noted.

The faint shifting of feathers, the steps upon the earth took the coywolf's attention now that he wasn't preoccupied with finding somewhere to put the food. Inhaling the rain around him, the rain washed away all scents, even in the camp, but it didn't hinder the teen's hearing. Looking around for the source of the noise, something he was wary of doing even though he'd been part of the pack for a while thanks to his decade with the scientists, the teenager soon spotted another girl, this one half-bird of some sort by her wings, watching him and Clemitine. Rio held back a sigh even though he felt like doing so. "Do you need something as well?" Rio asked the new girl, unable to place who she was as he was keeping one eye on Clemitine and the other on the other girl's wings so he couldn't place her unless she drew closer where he could see her properly.
