.: Pᴀsᴛ ɪs Rᴇᴄᴏᴍᴍᴇɴᴅᴇᴅ :. "Aya Nightwing. My name was given to me by a man who claimed to be my savior... To be honest, I have no idea who my actual parents are... or were, I don't have any memory of what home was. I've grown up knowing only the human ways of life, their cruel nature, I'm not the only one this "Savior" has taken from their cradle either. I had two other "siblings", their minds are corrupt, twisted like his and they followed his every word... My so called sister, he would dote on her especially. The only one that I felt I could open up to was my companion, Hesterien, the albino Lion who's said to have been by my side since birth. He's the only one who stands and protects me from their angry out bursts. But, not even Hesterien could protect me from the corruption, I could see it spreading... all of my so called family was slowly being consumed by the vial corruption this "Savior" kept slipping into our evening meals... Savior... Don't make me gag, what kind of father keeps his children locked behind iron bars, poisoning them each chance he gets, then sending them on vial quests, quests that an elf would never embark on. Then again, what do I know about the elven people?
My first hunt, I remember it like the back of my bruised and bleeding hands. Back then, Alinar and Svona were not so corrupt and twisted. We were told to hunt something unimaginable to young hunters. A dragon... It was a set up, the Savior knew that there was something lingering in that dragons blood, he wanted it. Alinar and Svona didn't hesitate, they attacked the poor creature before a logical thought could be spoken. At the time it wasn't just Alinar, Svona, and my self there were many others.. this quest made our families numbers dwindle quickly. This dragon, his eyes... I can remember them like it was yesterday. His stone cold expression, I can't remove it from my mind. He had a family, they were no where insight though. I remember Alinar and Svona yelling my name, their bodies were covered head to toe in a blackened blood. Their hysterical laughter showered the forest, I can still hear it even now. They were insane, I knew it had to do with that dragons blood. They kept beckoning me to come and bath myself in the dragons life liquid, I couldn't bring myself to take part in such a thing. I remember the Savior coming to us as the deed was now done, the dragons heart was beating no more. He went to the dragons side, I was hiding in the darkness of the forest, he hadn't yet cage us. I watched him collect vials of the tacky blackened blood. He wore a grin that glistened in the nights light. That night those who hadn't died from the dragons weak attacks, died from the blackened blood. I could hear their cries as they slowly lost the fight against the corruption. The next morning I watched from my cell, body after body was being packed out of the dungeon, their skin was pale, scratches were visible on their necks. The only ones I never seen packed out were Alinar and Svona, the strongest of us all. The look in their eyes was not the ones that belonged to Alinar or Svona... they were gone.
The savior took great pride in Alinar and Svona, but he showed greater care to Svona. Why? I didn't know. All I knew is from that point on I had to find a way out of this place... I knew I didn't belong here, I knew that I'd be turned just as corrupted and twisted as them if I didn't escape. Many nights had passed, years had passed before I was ever allowed out of my cell again. The Savior knew I wasn't corrupted and I didn't seem to be affected the way the others were. I tried to act as if I was corrupted, so the Savior's eyes would not linger on my skin for more then needed. My efforts were fruitless, he knew every lying move of my body, the corrupted had a specific body language I couldn't seem to mimic. One night after our evening meal, the Savior dragged me from my cell and threw me in the arena... There I was to fight both Alinar and Svona... I was beaten to an inch of my life. Since I lived, the Savior continued to use me as a training dumby for both Svona and Alinar. Hesterien was chained and confined in a iron cage hanging above the arena. I could hear his pain filled cries echoing across the arena's stone walls. "I'm fine Hesterian." I would call to him.
Finally, my chance came. The Savior had a visitor, this visitor was to barrow Alinar and Svona. He needed their skill, their corrupted skill. For what I wasn't sure but at the time this didn't matter to me. As the Savior's attention was taken, I snuck the key from his belt loop, the key that would release Hesterian. It only took me minutes to rush to the chains that held him in the air. Pulling the lever I watched as Hesterian dropped to the middle of the arena in his iron cage. The sound of the cage hitting the center of the arena rang through out the palace, debris flew into the air, and I raced to Hesterian's side. I jabbed the key into the key hole on the top of his cage. I could hear the Savior's angered roars filling the cavern. Hearing the click of the key unlocking his cage. I quickly backed up as Hesterian leaped from his cage and took me upon his back. "Hurry Hesterian!!" I remember screaming as he leaped on top of the Savior, the sound of Hesterian's huge claws puncturing the Saviors stomach is another sound I will never forget. How I got to where I am now only Hesterian knows, where we go we don't linger for long. Hesterian and I both know Alinar and Svona are tracking us.
During my freedom, I've learned many new things. I've obtained an herbalist book, and I've taught myself how to read the human language. I've learned about many plants and I've been able to see many different creatures. Hesterian has taught me what to eat and what not to eat during our travel. And if it wasn't for him I'd be dead by now. One morning I traveled some distance away from Hesterian, I could hear the sound of tricking water. I was thirsty and perused it. As I reached the waters edge, there stood a man, and elven man with darkened skin and long snow white hair. I was speechless, backing away I kept quite and hid behind a near by bush and like a creep I watched him for sometime. His teal eyes were astonishing, a color I had never seen before. Before I left the waters edge, I made a childish prayer we'd meet some day. Though, I know that prayer will never come to be, Hesterian and I have many miles to travel before Svona and Alinar will ever stop perusing us, miles that that man will likely never cross.
