"please try to understand, jim", Jennifer whispered. "after 9/11...i couldn't put the whole world in such a danger. i...i never..." she closed her eyes. "i wish there had been another way, darling..." a tear ran down her cheek and she hid her face in her hands. "d-do you...do you think you can ever forgive me...?", she whispered.

Mac smirked widely. "of course, that's the only eatable thing here. hey Noah, stay beside me, okay?" he slowly let go of his son's hand and took a tabled, putting a coffee, a frappee and a small bowl of cheese soup on it. "wuite...difficult...with one hand..."

Athena and Lilly looked at eachother, raising one eyebrow exactly the same.
"...mommy?"
"yup?"
"is he asleep?"
Athena smirked slightly. "umm...kinda." she took off her jacket and put itvaround Lilly's shoulders. "we'll just wait for him to wake up again." she waved as the woman and the man drove off again
"mommy?"
"mhm?"
"why did they drive away without me?"
Athena smiled softly. "Because you are going to finally stay with me." Lilly's eyes widened and she hugged her tightly, laughing happily.

Jim stood up, feeling how his heart was breaking again. Now that he had finally thought to having made peace with the past - his mom tells him she wanted to die. She wanted to leave.
"Why does everybody keep thinking that dying is a way to protect others?!", he growled, having enough of people leaving him just to protect him. "Die to protect me? Yeah right. You just made it worse!" His soul 'went' back into his body, and he stood up, shifting into his wolf form, disappearing into the forest behind the house.

Hunter took the tablet out of Macon's hand and walked over to an empty table. "Smells delicious!", she said, smelling the soup. She sighed happily, smiling softly, watching her boys.

Steve was awake again...but he didn't open his eyes.
>>Oh my god. A daughter. She has a daughter. SHE HAS A DAUGHTER AND DIDN'T TELL ME!!<< He had the urge to open his eyes, but couldn't. No, he couldn't.

Rachel looked up and frowned.
"you told him?"
"yeah..."
she sighed, turned into the phoenix and flew after him. there he was!
She softly landed behind him. "Darling?"

"it is delicious!", Mac grinned, taking Noah's hand again. the little boy carefully touched the place where his left arm was ending, with big eyes. "daddy?"
he smiled softly. "don't worry, my little storm, daddy's fine. really." he softly picked him up and kissed his forehead. "come, let's join mommy at that table."

Lilly carefully tspped against steve's forehead.
"mommy?" she turned to Athena again. "is he my new daddy?"
Athena sighed deeply. "i don't know, Lilly. i hope so... but only he can decide that..."
"and where is daddy?"
closing her eyes, Athena took a shuddering breath. "oh my little one, why do you grow up so fast...daddy is..." she sighed. "daddy had to leave to a far away place, because he did something really bad."
"me."
"don't you call yourself like that!", she gasped. "no, my little one, no matter how it hapoened, you aren't something bad. you are my little sunshine!"

Jim sighed. "No...I can't believe it...no...she...she just left me.", he mumbled, a tear rolling down his cheek. "If she hadn't...I...I wouldn't have...he would never have..."

Hunter smiled. She was so proud of her boys.
But actually mad at Macon.
He should've told her about his cancer! She could've worried even more then!
"Huuuurry! I'm starving."

Steve had to fight not to open his eyes.
He wasn't good with kids.
And this kid...it knew that Steve wasn't her dad and...

Rachel softly hugged him and kissed his cheek.
"if she hadn't left, she would have destroyed the whole world soomer later. the demon inside her would have taken het over and done even more horrible things than the demon inside james. and...we would have probably never met...", she whispered. "i'd be dead by now, no jack, no marriage, no raven and angel..." she softly kissed his neck. "take a deep breath, my love...i'm right here for you."

"mommy wants the express!", mac laughed, picked up nosh and sat him down on his shoulders.
"aaaand we're there! wow, Noah, you are so fast!"

Athena sighed sadly, holding Lilly's hand.
"mom? is it okay to shift here?"
"yeah, cutie."
Lilly quickly turned into a snowwhite ermine and curled up on Athena's lap, who was softly stroking Steve's hand. "s-steve...?", Athena whispered terrified.

Jim felt how the tears were coming, but he held them back. He was a grown-up man who had lost his mother 21 years ago. And grown-up men didn't cry anymore about the loss of their mother - which had ocurred 21 years ago. What would Rachel think of him?

He took a short, exhausted breath, and looked down on the floor. He was sick of people leaving him to protect him. He was sick of his life turning out to be nothing but a lie. The only one he was still able to trust was Rachel. Right?
"Did you know?", he asked, sounding extremely depressed and angry at the same time. He was probably one of the only people on earth who could sound sad and angry at the same time. Right?

Hunter's eyes widened. "Oh my god! Noah you're so fast!", she exclaimed, giggling slightly. "You really deserve your milk now!"

Steve sighed, opened his eyes, and sat up.
"Athena Davis.", he said, no emotions in his voice nor his eyes. "We need to talk."

Rachel softlx stroked over his head.
"she told me that there is something she would have to tell you one day, but she didn't tell me what it is.", she numbled, softly stroking his cheek.
"i'm so sorry for you darling...i wish i could just end the pain..." she closed her eyes, a small tear running down her cheek. quickly wiping it away, she frowned over herself. "i'm here my lone wolf...i'm right here for you."

Noah giggled happily, clapped his hands and suddenly turned into a storm. a small one, luckily. mac's eyes widened. "that's the first time since his birth he shifted. wow! my little storm!"

Athena took the ring of her finger and gave it back to steve. "it's okay, steve...it's not the first time i'm being left because i have a daughter..."
she closed her eyes, head down, tears running down her face, while she waa waiting for him to yell and then leave.
"you shall just know i'm sorry. i never meant to hurt you...i just didn't know how to tell you, without getting a fallback because of it. but i understand. i just want you to know that i love you..i love you more than i could ever put in words and i'm thankful for everything we shared...i'm sorry, Steve, i really am. the past has been hard, you know? and i learned to never look back. but now i have to look back and it's scaring me.... and...and i understand if you want to..." she closed her eyes, digging her fingers into her hair. "...i understand if you want to... l-leave and...never see me again..."

Jim sighed, grabbing Rachel's hand, trying not to squeeze it.
"I don't feel pain anymore.", he mumbled frustratedly, still looking down on the ground. "I'm just a numb, weak cissy whose life is nothing but a freaking lie." He sighed angrily, another tear running down his cheek. >>I'm sick of it. I'm sick of it all.<<

Hunter's eyes widened even more. "Oh my god! Noah, I'm so proud!" She giggled happily. "Wow!"

Steve sighed and looked at the ring in his hand. "I'm...not leaving you..." >>Am I?<< "I just want answers. You have a daughter, Athena. Don't you think that was important to tell me? And who's the father? You never told me you were married before! And that's the part I don't understand : you've been a wolf all your life, you only discovered a few months ago that you were human!"

"that's not true", Rachel whispered softly. "you are not a cissy and you are not weak. and your life is ni lie, Jim." she stroked over his back. "hey, how should she have told you? there was no way for her to tell you the truth. And she didn't only leave you to protect you. she left to protect the whole world. you know Rex has trained macon, jamie and me to hunt and kill demons and shadows. the strongest demon i have ever faught was a Class 5 Demon. and that already was nearly impossible to kill. we all nearly died back then, and, well, Atlatis is real, because of that beast. your mother probably was talking about a class 8 or even higher demon. if it had ever managed to escape her Body or take her over, it would have destroyed the whole world. she had no choice Jim." Rachel sighed sadly. "i know it doesn't Change anything. but maybe it helps you to understand her a bit better...."

Mac smirked, turned into snow and created a Little snowstorm together with noah. "hihihih....!"

Athena sighed and took Steve's Hand. "okay. okayokayokay...i'm gonna tell you, but i might start to panick and Forget where i am. it's a onsequence of what...happened." she squeezed his Hand and looked at Lilly. she was sleeping like a corpse. >>okay...<<
closing her eyes, she began to tell...
"I told you i left the pack when i was sixteen. and that i...you know...took and dealed and yeah... one night, i was completely light in the head. i took too much and totally lost it all. it was my eighteenth birthday..." she squeezed his Hand tighter. "when i tumbled back home from the Party, drunk as a Skunk and totally..." she waved her Hand in front of her face. "i overlooked a step and fell. onto my head. that was the first time i shifted human. and of Course i had nothing to wear...and i was too over to notice or care anyway. well, then i was laying there, half blacked out, naked...and there was this man..." squeezing even tighter, she continued with a shivering voice. "i don't remember much, besides waking up in a Hospital three days later, being told that i had been found in a garbage Container, with bruises everywhere...and pregnant. they got him a few weeks later, and he went into prison. life Long. and i... iwas given to choice to give birth to a child of a Monster or kill that innocent kid. i did what was right. but shortly after her birth, i had a fallback. when i woke up again, Lilly crying in her Little bed, me laying on the Couch with a syrige in my arm, i realized that she deserved better. so i asked her godmother to take care of her until i was ready to care for her myself. and then, two or so years later, years of contant fallbacks and trying over and over again...i nearly died from that overdose and when i luckily woke up again, i was in my wolf form again. i told myself that all of that was nothing but a nightmare, just another trip. but two months ago, Angelica called me. she said that lilly had tried to run away to find me...ten times. that was the Moment when it all came back and i finally had the strength to leave it all behind and become someone better." by now she was shivering as hell, and her nose was bleeding. she closed her eyes, squeezing steve's Hand as tight as she could. Pictures flashed into her head. Pictures of that night. "NO!", she screamed. luckily, Lilly didn't wake up.

Jim sighed. "I know. I know it but...you can't understand.", he said, let go of her hand again and put his in the pockets of his jacket. "It's...you know...nobody seems to trust me. They all think they need to leave to protect me. They never tell me things. Look at Macon. He's my brother. He always wants me to tell him all my burdens. But when he has a problem, he wants to solve it on his own. He didn't even tell me...hadn't Hunter called me, I probably would've never known about it." He frustratedly punched a tree to his right, staring at his bleeding knuckles. "And you know what hurts the most?", he asked her, biting his lip, shaking slightly. "My mom was a demon. My dad was a demon. I am a demon...what if I'm...what if the things you saw until now are just the first layers of the demon? What if he actually is much stronger? What if I need to...?"

Hunter watched them, smiling proudly. Others stopped by, frowning, but Hunter just ignored them. "I'm still hungry!", she called to Macon, winked and just started eating her soup.

Steve felt how his whole body was shaking from anger.
"Why didn't you tell me earlier?", he asked, tears in his eyes. He softly took Athena's hand, put the ring around her finger and kissed it. "I promise you: nothing like that will ever happen again. I will make sure nothing will ever happen again."
