"okay, then let's go to bed", Rachel said softly and kissed his forehead. she took his hand and softly dragged him with her, back into the bedroom. "tomorrow will be an easier day", she said smiling and hugged him tightly. "you will see."

Mac laughed, picking up hunter and carrying her into the house and into the bedroom. "welcome to our bedroom, hun."
the bed was....hovering?
"like sleeping on clouds", mac said smirking and dropped down on the bed.

Jim hugged her back, as tight as possible. He sighed. Would she understand?
"Hun...can we talk?"

Hunter's eyes widened. "The bed is hovering!", she said, letting herself drop on the bed beside him. "I am already excited to sleep!", she called.

a cold chill raced down her back.
"okay, you're scaring me." she looked up into his eyes with big, fearful eyes. "what's it?"
she prepared herself to be left. he had thought about it several times, thinking he was too dangerous. she knew that. and now he would really leave? she could hardly breathe. "are you leaving?", she whispered with tears in her eyes. "you are not too dangerous! you won't harm anyone of us! you don''t have to protect us from yourself!"

Mac giggled silently, got rid of his jeans and shirt again and sighed happily. "ahhhhh......best day ever, best wife ever, best son ever, best bed ever....my life is freakin perfect!"

Jim smiled softly and pulled Rachel as close as possible. "Don't worry...I promised you I won't leave you.", he said, running his hand through her hair. "Of course I still believe I am too dangerous and aren't able to protect you from myself, but what husband am I when I leave, which ends in my wife...probably killing herself."

Hunter got rid of her dress and cuddled up against Macon. She sighed happily, drawing a heart on Macon's chest with her finger. "I just love you so much!"

rachel hid her face at his chest, her racing heart slowly, verly slowly calming down. had she ever felt such fear as right a minute ago? probably not. she took some breathes, trying to calm down, the fingers of her one hand dug into his leather jacket, and of her other hand clinging to the rubber band around her left wrist.
"what do you want to talk about then?", she whispered, forcing back some tears, while feeling as if her legs were far too weak to carry the weight on her shoulders.

"i love you even more", mac said winking and closed his eyes with a happy sigh. "everything is still so hard to believe...it's like thebest dream ever."

Jim pulled her even closer, trying to comfort her. "Don't be afraid. I'll never leave you.", he whispered, noticing that her legs were shaking. He sat down on the bed, softly pulling her with him. "Listen to my heartbeat. Calm down, honey, calm down.", he said, feeling that his heart was beating slowly. "First you calm down, we can also talk tomorrow, hun."

Hunter nodded. "It's like...heaven! Like paradise!", she said, closing her eyes, falling asleep after a few seconds.

rachel took a deep breath, listening to his calming heartbeat. after a while she sighed and cuddled against his chest tightly, keeping her eyes shut tightly. this was how her latest nightmares all started. 'can we talk...i'm off. see you. or rather not'.
"i can't sleep anyway", she mumbled weakly. "so what do you want to talk about?"

Mac smirked, watching her sleep for a while and finally fell asleep, too, dreaming of hunter and noah.

Jim took off his leather jacket and put it around Rachel's shoulders, kissing her forehead. "I will never leave you.", he said, stroking over her soft cheek with his finger before kissing her for a long time. >>I didn't mean to hurt her...<<
He sighed. "I actually wanted to talk to you about the future.", he said, a soft smile on his face. "I mean...as long as HACK ist still down, we can live a normal life... with a job and everything." Nervously scratching his neck, he continued, "And well...I don't know if I am capable of living a normal life. You know, without...having to fight every day."

rachel sighed relieved, her heartbeat finally going back to normal. this actually was a good topic...wait, hadn't there been something like that a few days ago? she had wanted to talk to him about it, but forgot it. she slapped her forehead! "holy moly!" she rushed out of the bedroom and into what should be an office one day, seeking for a letter. there!
she ran back to jim, waving the letter in the air.
"i actually wanted to talk about that, too, but forgot it!", she explained. "i have been offered a job. heck i didn't even know people get OFFERED jobs, but hey, seems like they want me."
she held up the letter and read out
"Dear Mrs Davis,
bla bla bla
offering you a job as a Journalist for our magazine...
and now be prepared!
NEW! YORK! TIMES!"

Jim smirked, hugging Rachel tightly. "WHAT?! I am so proud of you! Wow, oh my god, that's just...wait.", his expression went sad again. "That means...you'll have to leave for NYC?"
And again, he felt this sudden weakness. Emptiness inside. Would they have to move to New York? Leave everything behind? He couldn't come with her...not to New York. That would be impossible for him to live there.
