"no, no it won't kill me to starve on nightmares. I starved on them for eh...six years straight. it just weakens the monster." Rachel's voice was soft as she was trying to comfort jim. "don't you worry, darling. that's nothing, really. i'm used to it."

Jim softly ran his fingers down her neck and smiled sadly. "I just don't want you to suffer...", he said and sighed. It was already really dark now. >>And I don't want you to stay awake all night because of your nightmares...<<

"i'm not suffering, darling", rachel said softly. >>I'm just dying inside.<< "It's nothing. half as bad." she kissed his cheek and slowly stood up, slightlyshivering. "okay...let's go home...we're close, so...mind a little walk?"

Jim wrapped his arms around her, shifting his wings back onto his back. "I'll carry you, you're shivering...", he mumbled, slowly taking off into the sky. >>You're suffering...I can feel it...<<

"no, wait...", rachel said softly and jumped out of his arms and onto the ground. "i really need a little walk. to get my head free, you know?" she shifted into the white doe she nearly never shifted into and softly touched his hand with her nose. "don't worry for me. I'll be at the house in half an hour." she softly smiled at him, which was rather complicated, since she was a doe rigt now. "see you soon, darling."
she turned around and disappeared into the forest, heading for a very special sea. as she arrived, the sea was glowing silver in the moonlight, dipping everything around into a soft, silver light. she lay down in front of it and tilted her head upward, facing the moon with closed eyes, listening to the sounds of the forest for a while.
she finally touched the water surface with her nose and suddenly the sea was showing a film of memories. all the moments of jim, starting back then in high school, ending at what had just happened. she smiled softly, as far as a doe could smile.

"hey darling...", mac whispered, softly stroking Hunter's cheek. "we're together for almost a year now, right? tomorrow it's a year. err, today...in case it's after midnight already...however." he shook his head to clear his thoughts. "we never celebrated your birthday. heck i don't even know when it is. but we all must have missed it, because, one year, right?"

Jim sighed, turned on his back again and slowly started flying back home. The stars were shining bright, the moon glowing softly, just as in that night where Jim had proposed to Rachel. But somehow, he couldn't find pleasure in the beauty of the nightsky. He felt a strange emptiness inside of him. Not sure if that all had to do with his worries about Rachel, or just the fact that he was extremely hungry - and Rachel actually had eaten their meat for the barbecue.
Arriving at the meadow, he landed, shifting his wings away. Frowning slightly, he noticed something one the floor. >>A phone?<< Picking it up, he looked up, noticing the treehouse again - and hearing voices talk. >>Seriously? He didn't pick up his phone because he was busy with Hunter?<<

Hunter smiled akwardly. "Well...that's because I never remembered my birthday.", she said, running her hand through his hair. "Buuut since I remember everything again, I also remember my birthday."

after some time, rachel fially felt better. she slowly stood up and ran through the forest. it was kinda fun, running on all fours. or was it just her? a beautiful stag soon followed her, running right beside her. she could imagine why.
as she stopped running, the stag stopped as well, looking at her. rachel rolled her eyes, smirked, and slowly made her way back home.

"when is it? and, well, belated happy birthday then", mac said smirking and pulled an USB stick out of the ocket of his jeans.
"thought you might....ehm..." he awkwardly scratched his neck. "when i was still an android, all my thoughts and feelings and so on, you know what i mean, were saved on an extern storage and eh yeah...my innermost on the outside, for you."

Jim had went inside the house to grab his guitar, and now he was sitting in the meadow, against a tree, playing it.

Hunter smiled softly. "October 28th.", she said, and then looked at the USB stick. "So...all your feelings and thoughts of when you were an android are saved on that stick? And you want me to see it?"

Rachel heared a beautiful song playing. Jim? she walked out of the forest, her white fur glowing silver in the moonlight, and lay down beside him, still in doe form. she closed her eyes peacefully, lay her headdown on her forelegs and listened.
as the song ended, she looked up at him, a warm sparkling in her eyes. she didn't feel like talking right now, so she just lay her head down on his legs and enjoyed his closeness.

Mac looked at the picture of the person falling out of the darkness and smiled softly.
"everything is on there. though it's mostly the part since the day i found you in the desert that's interesting. i told you words can't describe how much i love you. well, this can."

Jim lay his guitar next to him and put his hand on Rachel's back, and closed his eyes, enjoying her being there with him, and so close. He still felt so strange. And it was not his hunger, he knew that now. Probably all his worries. About his demon, about HACK, about the future, about his brother, about Jack, about Rachel, and now there was even more to worry about: Rachel starving on nightmares. >>I don't know what to do anymore...<<

Hunter looked up at him, her eyes sparkling. "Wow....", she mumbled, cuddling her head against his chest, running her fingers over it. "That's just so....wow...I'm speechless."
