Rachel had heared Jim's father. now she was screaming inside. "NO JIM! NO!!" >>move! move! move you darn crappy fingers move!" her little finger was twitching. at least she thougt it was. >>JIM! I AM HERE!!<<

Jim looked into his father's eyes.
It's true. It was his fault. Everything was his fault.
He bit his lip and looked at Rachel.
"Only if you promise that you won't use her as some labrat."

His father thought about it.
He needed the Phoenix's powers, but he also needed a good shooter / fighter, and a new Head Hunter since Saskia died.

Rachel slowly gained control of her little twitching finger. She let it twitch against Jim's leg. >>DON'T YOU DARE JOINING HACK AGAIN!!<< >>I! AM! HERE!<<
she just hoped he would notice her twitching finger.

Jim looked to the ground. He noticed something pushing against his leg. He looked at his leg and saw a finger. A hand. A arm. Rachel.
Rachel?

"Alright. We won't use her as a labrat."

Jim looked at his father and then at Rachel again.
"Ehm..."

"Well, what?"

"I ..." he was thinking of a good excuse. But the HACK medics would probably find out that she was alive sooner or later. But, if he'd join HACK, it was sure that either dead or alive, Rachel wouldn't get hurt.

Okay, this had been her last choice. with all the power she had she bumped her finger into the wound in his leg.
"if...I...kill...you!" he voice was so silent that only jim would hear her. >>I WANT CONTROL OF MY BODY BACK!!<<

He shrugged. That hurt!
He gave an angry look at Rachel, but since her eyes were still closed, she didn't see it.
"I have decided that it isn't necessary, and a very bad idea, for me to join HACK since my girlfriend would kill me if I did."

His father frowned. "You know that you're 'girlfriend' is dead? Like mother."
"Sir.", one of the medics said. "She's moving her finger. She wasn't dead, just unconscious with a very low heartbeat."

Major Davis shook his head. He couldn't kill her now. She's still alive, so now he could try to get her powers.
"Well, that's nice."

Jim ran his finger through her hair. "You have no idea how happy I am to see you alive...", he whispered.

Rachel moved her hand. then her feet. and slowly opened her eyes. she was still knocked down, but at least she could move again.
"you cried...", she whispered. "...hardly... you're so pale. I'm here. I'll never leave you alone." a tear ran down her face." I'm so sorry Jim, i had to shoot, i would've killed you. please don't become one of them again, no matter if i'm dead or alive."

Jim looked to the floor. "When you shot yourself, you killed me.", he whispered and kissed her cheek.

The Major rolled his eyes.
