a man who adheres to a strict set of morals, lee knows [in part] the truth of behind the scenes. his work in the doctoring profession has forced his life to brush with the facts more than once in his twenty one years of living, and since then he has never been the same. on the outside, he's the model citizen; performing his job as instructed. heck, his small facility is even licensed as a blood-drawing one. beneath the surface, however, he is just the opposite. known on the streets as a 'back alley' doctor, willing to excise his talent no matter the nature of the wound, however strange it may seem. regardless, he refuses to join the growing force of rebels. lee sees an coup as hopeless, and it is this pessimistic part of him that has him backed in the corner. he helps those who need his help, willing to commit grievous actions against the hand that rules, while simultaneously accepting that this condition will unlikely changed. in essence, he's a man on a suicidal path.
▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬

history| while he may not have been born in hashino, lee's collection of the outside world is dim indeed. he was eleven when he moved into hashino city with his parents, on the cusp of teenagerhood. the son of japanese immigrant fuse juzo, and england native, maria dawson-juzo, lee was born in manchester, england, two or so years after his parents married.

fuse, who was studying creative writing abroad met miss marie at the university of warwick in his second year of university, whereas she was studying for her postgraduate masters in the medicinal field. the two began to date shortly after this first meeting, and continued to see each other even after that first graduation. afterwards, the couple shared a flat in birmingham together, remaining in england for four years more whilst marie went on to gain her master's degree. during this time fuse worked where he could, as a blogger, article writer, and even went out to get a permit for teaching so that he could substitute. after roughly six years of dating, the two married when marie was thirty and fuse, twenty-six. she was a licensed physician by then, and they uprooted their belongings and moved to manchester, with marie searching for work. two years later, along came lee, and the new family moved from their cramped flat, to a slightly roomier flat with six rooms instead of four. from there, lee spent his first eleven years as any other boy would, romping about the streets with friends, attending primary school, and just generally reveling in the innocence of childhood.

when lee was eleven, his father was determined to find a new start for his family. the city of manchester, however profitable, didn't suit him anymore. and so he made the decision to move his beloved wife and son to a 'new' city, who had just cropped up on the horizon. with little debate, the family moved at the end of lee's school year. in the new community, fuse worked as an english teacher while his wife found a job as a nurse at the local clinics. while the enclave's laws seemed odd, fanatic, almost, they adapted. on the downside, this move was the end of lee's blissful childhood. the child's parents disagreed heartily on hashino's city mysterious beginnings and foundation, and after a particularly nasty spat decided that it would be best to separate. lee was fifteen. choiced with living with his opinionated mother, or overbearing father, he chose the former. in the months that followed, the divorce between the once-happy maria and fuse was finalized. maria and lee moved out, taking up residence in the medicinal district in a small flat. from his mother, lee juzo learned to appreciate the field in which she devoted herself too, and became interested in following in her footsteps. assuming that her son was going to be a doctor, maria would bring her child with her to work on the days when school wasn't in session, and from there guided him through the process of handling deceased corpses, and the tools associated with her trade.

despite the fickle hashino rules, lee achieved the maximum years of schooling offered. rather than become a doctor, lee expressed the fact that he wished to nurture animals instead. [in part, this was his mother's fault. he grew accustomed to handling human bodies, even somewhat-comfortable with, but there was something about staring into those twin pits of blank intelligence that throughly unnerved him. animals were much easier. on the plus side, he got over this later.] at the insistence of his mother, he became an apprentice of the local aging vet at seventeen years old, and would spend his after-hours at her office when school was out. this woman, andy crane, helped hone his skills, crafting the man into the fellow he is today. she retired when he was nineteen years old, and from there he took over her practice as the local veterinarian. for a year he lived as a loyal grown civilian, unaware of the monstrosities committed by the upper structure. he was twenty when he got the license to draw blood from the community, and so began to make bi-weekly shipments to the local hospitals to deliver his crimson collections.

shortly after his twentieth birthday, lee juzo was awaken in the middle of the night by a ferocious pounding at his back door. stumbling down the stairs dressed sparsely in boxers and a tee-shirt, he opened the flimsy wooden door to reveal the sickly face of the familiar caliber. it was jon, a former classmate [and somewhat close friend] of his from his education years. the man was pale and gaunt, eyes bloodshot. there was sticky blood staining his clothes, throwing through the wound on his left side. the wound in the shape of teeth that were so eerily human. freaked out by the sight, lee closed the doors on the half-dead human, despite the pleas being hurled at him through the other side. jon was shouting, yelling that 'they' were chasing him, and were going to kill him. petrified, the young vet retreated to his upstairs bedroom, where sat shivering for about ten minutes more. that was about the time the screaming started. horrified, he feebly crawled over to his open window, where he watched with eyes as a humanoid figure pounced on the cowering figure, long, canine-like fangs dripping with blood. twice more the cackling vampire-thing struck the bleeding human, before fashioning it's teeth to jon's neck to suckle out what blood remained. it was about that time lee blacked out, his mind too grossed out to function.

awakening the next morning with the firm belief that it had all been a dream, lee hesitantly crept outside into the alleyway and looked around. before breathing a sigh of relief. the blood that had been spilled, the crimson staining the ground.. it wasn't there. turning around, the brunette was about to march back inside when a scrap snagged against a stray piece of trash caught his attention. the sliver of fabric was small, barely the width of lee's hand. it was also covered in drying blood. overtaken by guilt his inability to react, or even help in some form, lee set to work at learning more about the experience. what he witnessed was eye-opening to the teenager, and as he took more care to notice his surroundings he learned more of what was amiss. trivial details, that had slipped through the cracks before suddenly made lee suspicious. gradually, he learned a bit about the disappearances, and tentatively attempted to connect his work to that of those running the show. whatever research he had was pretty faulty, however, the male was convinced that something was afoot.

the loss of his optimism and hope, lee gradually fell into a more pessimistic stare. during the nighttime hours, his veterinarian operation opened up as another sort of business. essentially, back-alley doctoring for wounds of a different kind. plus it's cheaper and there's no paperwork. believing firmly that he could of saved jon [he couldn't], if similar cases following that first were any indication, lee juzo has since worked feverishly to atone for his sin as a bystander. he's been stained by the gruesome death, and while he believes that outward rebelling against a bloodthirsty government is a waste of time, is willing to assist those who are injured and wish to go under the radar. nowadays, the only thing that can give the lad peace of mind is when he plays the antique piano nestled within his flat.

[ shigemi, masanori, hanako, & lee are all accepted!
@ sensei. : generally, the vampires live in kokuei, since they only see humans as
their personal livestock. are both of your characters going to be blending in with the
        humans? ]
