will was sleeping soundly, until he was awoken from his precious slumber by a rather loud knocking at his bedroom door that was followed by a familiar voice. kimiko. well, that would explain why he was being woken up at this hour. she of all people knew that the he enjoyed his sleep, so of course she would be pestering him now. groaning, the black-haired man pulled his blankets from his towering figure, only wearing a pair of his boxers and a white shirt that looked much too big for his lean frame. what? just because he was a prince did not mean he had to sleep in 'prince' sleepwear.

opening the door, will pushed his messy hair from his face and offered a smirk to the maid. " kitty. " he paused. 'kitty' is what he enjoyed calling her. " it's far too early for this, you royal pain in the arse, " he said, poking fun at her just as she did to him. but like kimi, he did not mean what he was saying. the two found fun in teasing each other until one of them pulled their hair out.

kairoshearing that his thoughts were confirmed that river was busy with training to be a warrior similar to blythe, another of his dear siblings, kairos chuckled lightly and patted the girl's head the same way he had done for years. despite the fact that she was growing up, already at the rebellious age of fifteen, she was still precious little river in his mind. kairos allowed the girl to lead him towards the stables, keeping her hand clasped firmly in his larger, rougher one. "i managed to sneak a bite while the servants weren't looking. fussing over my diet won't do them or me any good honestly. have you? you need to eat well to have the energy to do all that you do. also, are you taking care of you academics, too? being educated is a luxury and helps you in every field," kairos asked with a cock of his eyebrow.

kairosentering the stables, kairos noted a familiar tall being taking care of the horses. with his free hand, kairos waved at the younger male and said, "morning, maddox. i see you're taking good care of the horses as usual. i appreciate your help. would you mind helping with our horses? river first, please." the prince absentmindedly wandered from river's side to go to his grey dapple named swan. he stroked her muzzle lightly and muttered a few words to her, causing the mare to flick her ears in response.

kimikoknowing just how much william could sleep if undisturbed, the petite girl prepared to knock again when his door suddenly opened. she opened her mouth to say something but stopped short once his attire registered in her mind. she couldn't say that she adored his nickname for her, but she never objected to it. though, she hoped he wouldn't dare call her "kitty" in front of others, for she didn't exactly want to lose her job. she already risked it enough by acting so casually with the prince. that and sneaking sweets for him. the cook still hadn't managed to figure out where all the prepared cakes and such from previous nights vanished to. "honestly, will!" she chastised with a click of her tongue. "didn't they teach you any manners in your fancy shmancy lessons? no," she shook her head and held her fingers to her temple as if the boy was causing her great distress, "you shouldn't even need lessons to know that you should at least try to look presentable before a lady!"

kimikoindignantly pushing past william, she surveyed his room with a trained eye. "really, will, i swear, what would you do without me?" she sighed as she took note of his bed, the blue and gold sheets unkempt since the young man had just awoken. the pink-haired girl shot him a smug smile and narrowed her strawberry pink eyes at him, "really though, can you do anything without me? maybe i should be a princess in your stead, and you can serve me! i'd make you fetch me sweets all day long. ew, i think you drooled on your pillow!" she exclaimed while tidying up his bed. she hadn't really, but of course, she had to think of something to poke fun at him for. "anyway, you royal lazy bum, as a maid, i'm asking you to get ready and go down and eat breakfast. i'll wait for you outside, 'kay?" she offered him a bright smile, patting the last pillow back into place and skipping out of the room. kimi quite enjoyed spending time with william, but she'd never admit it. in the past, she defiantly explained that her waiting for him outside practically every morning was because she suspected he'd go back to bed, which, in a way, wasn't a complete lie.

kimikomiss dictatorial. that was a new one. the nickname caused a small smirk to appear on kimi's lips as she exited the prince's room to give him some time to tidy up. at this point, he didn't need her help with selecting out clothing, or at least, she hoped he didn't. that would prove to be a bit troublesome otherwise, though, it would mean she got to spend more time with the prince. well, it wasn't like she wasn't going to admit that to herself either. besides, he probably had other things to be doing like actually trying to be king (if he wasn't being too lazy)instead of hanging out with some lowly maid like herself. even though they were friendly with one another, belonging to the servant class would remain as a barrier.

kimikokimi dutifully stood outside william's door, her hands folded behind her back, and she rocked lightly on her heels, remembering for the umpteenth time just how uncomfortable the standard maid shoes could get. while waiting for a certain royal pain to finish getting ready, her thoughts drifted towards her duties for that day. she conveniently couldn't recall having anything absurdly laborious to do that day, so she thought it would be another day of pestering will (if he didn't have more important things to attend to) and bringing him a couple treats now and then to lighten his mood. poor clueless kimiko didn't hear or even sense william's presence for that matter. a sudden husky voice in her ear, the pink-haired girl jumped nearly a foot in the air (which made her feel tall for once), mimicking a frightened cat. whirling around, kimi shook her fists up at the male, puffing out her cheeks. "y-you!" she squeaked, her cheeks a noticeable shade of red. "that wasn't nice! at all! i hope nobody roots for you to be king!" she stubbornly added, smacking him once, twice, thrice on the arm before grasping it and attempting to drag him to the private dining hall. the petite girl was stronger than she appeared to be, but still, she struggled with pulling the boy along.

a bright smile pryed at will's lips, a chuckle rumbling deep in his chest. " oh, kitty.. you're too easy. you know, for a second there you jumped so high you were nearly as tall as me. " he smirked at the not-so-subtle red tint to her cheeks. when she said, " i hope nobody roots for you to be king, " he was shocked, to say the least. did she really mean it? because damn, that stung. his bottom lip was slightly pouted as he said, " kitty.. i didn't mean to upset you, i was only trying to play with you.. " he surely called her 'kitty' a lot. for some reason, he had a strange attachment to the nickname. he was really beginning to feel bad for sneaking up on her, but most of the pity subsided when she began to hit him in the arm. the prince certainly did not like to be hit. he rose his hand, placing it gently under kimi's chin and tilting her head up to look him straight in the eye. he leaned in, perhaps a bit too close, examining her face with an intense stare. he lingered like this for several moments before drawing his hand away from her face and dusting himself off.

Mounting the horse, River Lee adjusted herself so she sat both legs over the horse, and tightened her sword into it's sheath. "Your turn." She chimed, glancing over to Kairos. "Actually...I haven't eaten yet..." She murmured, hoping he didn't hear.

kairos"thank you very much, maddox," kairos dipped his head at the stable hand as he helped both he and his sister with their horses. pulling himself onto swan's saddle, he squeezed her sides lightly with his heels to urge her forward. he sat there beside river, giving her one of his big brother glares. he reached over and ruffled her hair and chastised, "don't think i didn't hear that. naught you. we'll grab you something to eat when we get back then. where do you want to go today? lead the way." it had been some time since kairos ventured out of his room, having been absorbed with taking care of a few local issues. the reasons for his activity in the kingdom was not for support for the throne but simply from the fact that he saw it at his duty. plus, he enjoyed helping others. it would be nice to get a relaxing day with his younger sister, riding their horses through their lands.

kimiko"oh, please! you're the one who went into full stealth mode! i have every right to complain, and don't bring my height into this!" she squabbled, still fuming over william's mischief. after the initial shock of having him sneak up on her, she found that his actions were rather amusing and reconfirmed their friendship. still, she couldn't just let him get away with it. about to resort to name calling and conjure up other taunts for him, the young woman was cut of as will's hand somehow ended up cupping her chin and directing her to look up at him. blinking in surprise, it took the pink-haired girl a moment to process what had just happened as william brought his face very close to her own. flinching once before going limp in his hold, the maid failed to think of any comprehensible words to say to him. instead, her entire face seemed to acquire that reddish hue, signifying some sort of emotion that definitely wasn't anger. she was too stunned. after all, she could see every little detail of his expression, every one of his eyelashes, and definitely all of the intensity of his gaze.

kimikowhen he finally pulled away, which seemed like ten thousand years later for poor kimiko, she flustered, "t-that was no very proper of you as a prince! t-that... ergh! never mind. i don't even know how i deal with you sometimes! one day i'll just let you lay in bed all day, and you'll have miss having me around to pamper you!" kimi exclaimed dramatically. she was simply doing her best to hide the embarrassment she felt. having will that close had caused her heartbeat to quicken. if she thought about it... no, that couldn't be true. he was a prince, and she was just a mischievous little maid. stiffly gesturing down the halls, she mustered, "c-can we go now, you royal pain? you shouldn't be fooling around, and with a maid of all people, if you want to be king." she added the last bit in a softer tone as if to make up for her previous statement, wishing that nobody would root for him.

River Lee giggled sheepishly, and fixed her messed up hair. "Let's go around the lake." She stated, taking the reins, and squeezed the gaits, taking off for the lake. "C'mon!" She chimed, looking over her shoulder and smiled brightly at Kairos. "Catch me if you can!" River Lee called, starting to laugh a little. She faced forwards again, sighing and closing her eyes. The wind felt great upon her face, and she opened her eyes again, she took a turn and headed towards the lake.

a small smirk took it's form on will's lips at her reposte to his actions. the redness in her cheeks was something no one could miss, but he decided not to call her out on it as he did not wish to embarrass his friend. sure, they would tease each other until the other wanted to rip their hair out, but she was still a very dear friend to him and he did not wish to upset her more than he already had. now that he thought about it.. the man was able to admit to himself he had feelings for kimiko-- beyond being 'just friends.' but he was trying to convince himself it was only a small crush.. but that was certainly not the case and he knew it wasn't the case. " kit-- kimiko.. i.. " he paused for a second, thinking over what he was about to say. with a sigh, he realized that he was not yet ready to share with the maid how he felt. " nevermind.. i'll bring it up on a later date. now is not the time. " he looked rather distraught now, why couldn't he just say it? man up, you woose. for now, he would steer away from the subject as much as he possibly could. at the question of " can we go now? " the prince was already two steps ahead of her, walking in the direction of the private dining hall. he gathered himself together from nearly admitting to kimi how he felt, returning to his usual self. he turned his head to the side so she could only see half of his face as she was standing behind him and whispering gently, " but you don't have to act like you didn't enjoy it in the slightest bit, kimi. i won't judge. " he snickered, moving his head to face forward once again.

kairoskairos nodded in agreement at river's decision for the pair of them to head around the lake. it was a perfect time to stop by, too, since deer occasionally stopped by the body of water during the mornings for a drink. though, they may dash away at the sound of horse hooves. "sounds good to me, river. don't let my little sister beat me, swan," kairos encouraged his mare and sent her into a canter after river. the prince held on tightly to her reigns and leaned his body forward as swan ran after river. "don't underestimate your older brother," kai shouted to the girl as swan pulled ahead. the young man turned to grin at his sister form older his shoulder. "ah, look there's the lake, or are you too far behind to see?"

kimikohearing william say her full first name instead of "kitty" caused the pink-haired girl to blink up at him curiously. though she was obviously more accustomed to being called kimiko or kimi, her name in his voice sounded different. not a bad different for sure, but different. she cocked her head slightly, wondering what could possibly be on the prince's mind to have him hesitating in such an uncharacteristic manner. "cat, or rather "kitty", got your tongue, willie boy?" kimiko asked, clicking her tongue. an amused glint appeared in her strawberry pink eyes, but she merely shrugged and held out her hands, saying, "well, if you feel like telling me, i'm all ears. that, and i guess i don't have a choice, mr. prince," she added with a small laugh. seeing that will was already well on his way to the dining room, she nearly had to jog to catch up to his long strides. her short legs could only cover so much difference in one step. the maid scoffed, "enjoy it? puh-lease. maybe some other maiden in the town, but not I!" kimi announced, placing a hand over heart and holding an arm out like an actress.

kimiko"hey, slow down a bit!" kimi squeaked, realizing that she was getting a bit behind will. unfortunately, her valiant attempts to keep pace with the dark-haired prince ended up in her tripping over her own feet. a sharp yelp escaped the petite woman as she flailed her arms to keep her balance. though, her efforts were in vain.
