{ once again, I'm sooooo sorry!
Here's some of Asami's background to make up for it! }
He was... sleeping? Asami sighed - what'd a weird place to fall asleep! She could help but chuckle - still, she did so quietly, so as to not wake him. He looked rather innocent when asleep. It was... cute. Blushing once more and looking away, she decided to set the clothes down at his feet, before she grabbed a blanket off of one of the beds, bringing it over only to drape it over his sleeping form. She hesitated only for moment, as her eyes landed on the crow. How did that get in here? She couldn't be too sure, but since Taiga and the crow had fallen asleep with his hand on top of it, she decided not to question in. The brunette covered them both with the blanket before going to the bathroom. Her shower had been cold - but she had expected that. She was most likely last, and the hotel didn't seem to have the most sound water-heating system. That was okay - the brunette was used to odd situations such as this by now. After stepping out, Asami finally realized how late it was, letting it sink in as she looked to their window before she partially closed the blinds. Despite her sfomach's grumble in protest, she decided to skip yet another meal - she didn't really feel up to going downstairs and getting food, as her eyes were already threatening to close on her while she stood. Slipping into bed, she sighed, welcoming sleep with open arms - although, she might not have done so if she had known what she would relive through her dreams.
It was late, and she didn't know why she was up. Asami's father had woken her up, his voice barely above a whisper as he shook her awake, her mother keeping a watch at the door to her room. Her tired eyes blinked open as she looked to him in confusion. "Daddy?" a young Asami whispered, the dreariness in her voice showing the lateness of the hour. "What's going on?"
"Shh... Keep your voice down, honey - I want you to know that Mommy and Daddy love you very much." he whispered, helping her out of bed. If Asami had looked harder at his face that night, she would have seen the tears falling from his face. "We love you so much - but we might be going away - away to a place where you can't follow. We don't want to go, but we love you." He continued talking while he brought her to her closet, pushing her inside. She started whimpering - she didn't understand what was going on, but she didn't like it.
"Daddy - I'm scared." she cried, tears building at the corners of her eyes as she looked up at him. He kissed her forehead, and it was then that she could actually feel the tears fall onto her head as they dropped off of his cheek.
"I know, baby girl. Be brave." he said softly, before he closed the door. Asami couldn't hear much of anything after that. But there was shouting, and two shots - those shots burned into her memory, burning through her brain like a fire as she let out a soft cry. Heavy footsteps sounded outside her door, and the door was flung open wide to reveal a rather buff-looking man on the other side, big and imposing as he held a large assault rifle.
"Sir - I found the brat." he said, effortlessly dragging her out of the closet. "Shall I dispose of her?"
"No, I don't think that will be necessary." another man said, walking forward. Asami didn't get a clear look at his face - it was dark because they had closed her blinds, and her eyes were too blurred by tears anyway. "She's too young to be much of a threat. I don't care if she grows up to hold a grudge - I'd relish the challenge." He stepped away, walking to the door of her room. "Still - I think it's time she went to sleep. It's past her bedtime."
All Asami saw was a blurred fist, before...
Bolting upright in bed, the brunette gasped, holding her heart as her breath can out in ragged heaps. Again - that would mark the beginning of the second week in a row that she had dreamt that memory... no, that nightmare of a reality. Asami had thought that she had put that all behind her, but apparently her brain had decided that her dreams were not full of enough torment. Closing her eyes, she sighed heavily. She had gotten a full night's rest this time (the sun and the singing birds were confirmation enough) but it still felt like she had just barely closed her eyes. 'It was too real.'
