"We are," Dion reassured her in a soft voice, hoping it would help calm her. He had felt her grip relax some and was glad that she'd eased up but found he was even more glad she was still holding his hand. He walked quickly to get her away from all the excitement but not so fast that his long legs would be dragging her shorter ones. It was several blocks before they got to campus and foot traffic around them really slowed down since few people that were here were summer students like himself and most of the ones that weren't in their door wouldn't be wondering around the campus, they'd be partying or something. He slowed some then saying, "It's almost on the other side of campus, but I doubt we'll see anyone else around now."
Shea gave Charlie a grateful smile as she passed the bottle over then looked at the other girl as she spoke to her again, nodding. "Okay," she said as the Healer pulled up the shirt, keeping pressure till she got the shirt up to the wounds then only lifting up for a second so the shirt could be pushed upward before resuming the pressure. "People like these don't do hospitals," Shea said, looking up at the other woman. She didn't want to say they'd been Hunters 'cause that would only freak everyone else out more. Nodding at the last comment to her she lifted her hands up off the wounds again and stepped back out of the way, giving space but remaining where she could jump back in.

But in the corner, at the cold
hour of dawn, sat the poor girl, with
rosy cheeks and with a smiling mouth,
leaning against the wall--frozen to
death on the last evening of the old
year. Stiff and stark sat the child
there with her matches, of which
one bundle had been burnt.
"She wanted to warm herself,"
people said. No one had the
slightest suspicion of what
beautiful things she had seen;
no one even dreamed of the
splendor in which, with her
grandmother she had entered
on the joys of a new year.
