username;
one-eyed spectre.
name;
Abel Icarus Dechiel
alibi/nickname;
Azrael
gender;
Agender (he/him pronouns)
description;
Azrael is a very tall (6’11, to be exact), lanky figure. His frame is angular and sharp, though thin and defined. His hair long, often tied up in a ponytail and coloured a premature grey- whether this is natural or simply the result of his nervousness is up to debate- and his eyes are a similar colour, usually accompanied by heavy bags, evidence of a severe case of restlessness. His features are sharp and defined- a thin, bony nose, thin lips with skin bitten away here and there, all that sort of thing. His clothes usually consist of things that cover nearly all of him- gloves, overcoats, scarves, usually with a waistcoat and dress shirt underneath. There are slits on the back of these clothes- buttoned up, but still easily visible- apart from the coat, which usually stays unaltered. He has multiple scars and markings all over his body- mostly from battles that he's been in, but one notable marking is the bruise around his neck- resembling that left by rope, as though he had been hanged in the past. On the back of his neck, there's a tattoo of the alchemical symbol for ashes. Under his clothing, usually restrained by bandages or some form of binding, are three pairs of wings- white, feathered things, with eyes scattered around in no discernible pattern. Two pairs are smaller- seemingly for little purpose other than aesthetic, though they can help stabilise flight, with a wingspan of about 5ft. The largest pair has a wingspan of 10ft, and is primarily used for flight. Speaking of eyes, he has multiple "false" scars- these are actually eyes, though closed tightly and unused. Once opened, these extra eyes have no iris- instead, they only have pupils, though the amount of pupils an eye may have varies. This does not detract from the vision or functionality of the eye, as it is purely an aesthetic difference.
powers;
Azrael's main abilities are designed to emulate upon that of a biblical angel's; though mostly in a way designed for combat than support. Due to this, the most notable ability he has is some form of resurrection-based immortality. He can feel pain and receive mortal wounds as a normal human would, but once he has been injured enough, he passes out. While he is unconscious, his body will repair itself at an accelerated rate; the wounds close over and heal, leaving only a scar. Depending on the amount of wounds received and the severity of them, this can take from ten minutes to over an hour. In addition to which, he has functional wings- though he cannot hide them through any magical or natural means- and multiple extra eyes all over his body, which allow him a greater perception of his surroundings.
personality;
Outwardly, he usually attempts to put on an elaborate pantomime of nobility, grace, and level-headedness- a calculating, clear-minded exterior. Inwardly, though, he is an extremely nervous man, easy to overstimulate, but highly motivated to do the right thing, and dangerously intelligent. He’ll eagerly sacrifice himself for the wellbeing of those who deserve it.
how family died/history;
Being orphaned at an age too young for him to be able to recall, Abel grew up in the company of a family of pickpockets- led by a male couple of older pickpockets (yes, they were romantically involved, it was cute, trust me on this) that acted as father figures for him. He was a runt of the litter, one might say- but this only allowed him to be quieter and harder to catch. He educated himself by sneaking into a high-up school on occasion, and when he was caught, he snuck into libraries and read. He was pretty content with pick-pocketing, until one day his fathers had to leave the family- entrusting Abel, who was twelve at the time, to lead in their place. He was a selective mute then, only speaking to those in the family of thieves, though eventually he grew more able to express himself with his words. For a few years afterwards, he led the family of pickpockets, eventually growing into an alarmingly tall young man, until at some point he was taken from his surroundings by governmental officials looking for suitable test subjects and subjected to a somewhat sacrilegious project based upon replicating Angels based upon biblical scriptures for possible use in breeding soldiers- both for physical warfare and spiritual warfare. As the tests went on, he became more and more anxious to escape- leading him to fake his own death in order to get dropped out of the project. This did work- but at a price. As a result of nearly actually hanging himself, he is extremely afraid of choking or strangulation- basically, being unable to breathe. Before he was yet again re-located and forced to go on the run, he worked at a private library, living in an apartment above it provided by the owner. He doesn't know if his "family" is alive or not, but he hopes that he'll be re-united with them at some point.
crushes;
No thank you. (He's Aromantic/Asexual)
weapon;
Oddly enough, the only thing he decided not to leave behind when he left the labs- other than the clothes and armour he took with him- was a sword. Though not really fancy or with any real additions, it does glow a little, and he's used to wielding it.
other;
-He's 25 and a half
-Somewhere on the autistic spectrum.
-Enjoys reading a lot.
-Doesn't use contractions in his speech.
