He followed the conversation again silently, once again surprised at how Kuki's powerful statement could sound so flat and monotone. What she was trying to point out was true though. Stars couldn't just go around blurting out what they were to anyone who cared enough to listen. Humans seemed to fear beings that were different from them, so if their secret were to be exposed, there was no telling what would happen to them. When Opal announced that she only wanted someone to talk to, he jumped in. "And it's perfectly acceptable to make friends, so long as you keep quiet about what you are; or rather what we are." That was the closest he'd come to admitting he was a fallen star, so perhaps she'd drop that topic for the time being. His eyes narrowed slightly, and his ears twitched from under his hat. "I'd rather not die either... but you running your mouth could easily get us all killed!" His voice had dropped into a low whisper, a sound close to a hiss.
Hikari
The girl finished up the last of her math problems, so she slid her notebook into her bag and stretched as best she could while balancing on a tree branch. She took a moment to examine her surroundings, and when she did, her fiery red gaze landed on another girl who seemed to be looking at her from a nearby tree. Rather than feeling weirded out, Hikari raised her hand with a bright smile, and gave the stranger a friendly wave.
