"Mm?" She looked over at him when he spoke again. "B-But it is hard! I don't understand this.. or that.. or that.." she pointed at numerous problems involving variables and numbers. "I hate algebra." She mumbled, drawing random hearts at the side of her paper along with (terrible-looking) doodles.

He glanced at Ayano and then down at the page again as she pointed. "You just have to work out the missing number" he tried to explain. "For example. 5+N=9. N would be 4 because 5+4=9" Riku said as he watched her doodle. "If you have a letter next to a number then you times it" he added.

Ayano nodded at his words. "But then what do you do if there's a fraction involved? N over nine plus four equals...?" She wrote down the formula he gave her but stopped when she asked the question. "Inverse operation, right? So multiplication..."
