"D***, that was close. Who knew they'd have that much fight in them." Rhet said to herself as she clutched her wound. She had been lucky that their knowledge of vampires had been lacking even though their fighting skills had not. What had started as a one on one quickly turned into a one on ten. She had managed to get away, but not before receiving a nasty stab wound to the ribs. She stopped in her tracks when she smelled blood. It wasn't hers. She stumbled through the trees, looking for the source. She wasn't expecting what she found. It was a tree, just like every other in this godforsaken forest, but the soil around the base of it was drenched in blood. Rhet made her way over to the tree and sat back against the trunk. The smell of blood helped to ease her discomfort.
