Damien just gave a slight nod. "Yes. I tried to kill him but he got away. He is still out there, probably trying to make the device again. But the witch who designed it is now dead, that is where I get my medicine from."

Selena nodded and stood up. She wiped her cheeks with her sweater sleeve and walks over to Damien, hugging him tightly. "I'm so sorry." she said softly, tears streaming down her face.

Damien hugged her back, nuzzling into her neck and closing his eyes and he held her close, going completely silent now.

"I'm so sorry you had to go through that." Selena said, sobbing into Damien's shirt. "That's just horrible." she choked out between sobs.
