Grace looked at Jerome and tilted her head. "You don't care? I thought that all of you hated humans. At least, that's the impression that I got. Although, it is just my second day here, so I could've easily gotten the wrong idea. Please just let me go. I'm not going to hurt anyone and... Wait! Puny little human? I am so not a puny little human!"

Ryu took his hand and pulled himself up, his wings extending to stretch after his small fall. He
nodded "It's completely fine, don't worry about it." Ryu said with a nod, his hair falling into his
face. He flapped his wings for a moment to continue stretching them, then they folded into
his back. He titled his head for a moment "I don't think we've met, I'm Ryu." He held out a hand
and extended his fingers back so his claws didn't cut the other boy.

Hendrix looked at the claws for a moment, before shaking the hand cautiously.
"Hendrix," he replied. "Nice to meet you, Ryu."

Caspar laughed at the girl's reaction to Jerome, but still kept his mouth shut. He wasn't going to intervene too much in this. Humans were risky business, and the less involved with this one the better it would be if she got away and started wreaking havoc. I watched on silently.

Grace looked at Caspar and smiled as she heard him laugh. "I'm glad that you think that it is funny. You seem a lot nicer towards humans than your friend, not that he isn't nice. My name is Grace. What's yours? Who is your...um...nonhuman parent? Is it a demon? You look like the child of a demon."

Caspar raised an eyebrow at her when she said he was 'nice'. Very few people said he was 'nice', and that was including his friends and family. He looked even more surprised when she guessed he was the son of a demon. How the heck could she tell?
"Caspar," he said, a little skeptically. "Caspar Birkhate. And I'm afraid you've got me. My mum's an Alp, or a Nightmare if you're more familiar with Swedish folklore than German."

Grace nodded and pulled out her journal, writing something down in it. "It's very nice to meet you, Caspar. I knew it! I was stuck between son of the werewolf or son of a demon, but you didn't seem very...werewolf-ish. I don't know how to explain it. Well, I'm familiar with almost all folklore. I'm fascinated with nonhumans and, now that I know that they have kids, their kids. I'm working on making a family tree, but it's not going well. I can't just go up to people and ask who their parents are. I would stick out like a sore thumb!" Her eyes seemed to light up as she spoke about her fascination with nonhumans and the family trees that she was making.

Caspar raised his other eyebrow as she rambled on about folklore and a family tree. He was convinced. The girl was insane.
"Well, most people go for ghosts, for the obvious reason," he replied, scratching the back of his neck awkwardly. "But I suppose, if you're into this sort of thing..."

Grace looked at him and smiled. "That does make sense. You probably get called The Friendly Ghost all the time. I'm sure that it gets annoying. To be honest, I was starting to believe that you guys didn't exist. I wasn't finding any proof and nobody else believed me... I'm just really excited to know that I'm not crazy! See, nobody believes that you guys exist anymore. I mean, they've made love stories about vampires and werewolves." She sighed and shook her head. "The movies that they make now are a disgrace to you guys and the amount of power that you have. Speaking of power, what can you do?"

'Know I'm not crazy'. Yeah right....
"My power's a little, well, subtler than others..." he replied, with a shrug. "I can sort of plant ideas in people's minds, manipulate them a little bit. It doesn't always work and it's no where near as powerful as my mum's, but..." I shrugged again, hoping she didn't ask for a demonstration. I wasn't good at using it, and couldn't train myself at all.

Grace gasped and wrote something down in her journal before putting it away. "That's so cool! It must be awesome having powers! I wish that I could have powers, even if they are subtle! Being a human is no fun. You guys can fly, and have super-strength, and all sorts of different things! I wish that I could stay here forever... This place is a lot better than my world. I just wish that you guys didn't hate humans, so that I could live here with all of you. Why do you hate humans, anyway? I know that some of us used to chase you, but that was centuries ago. It seems ridiculous to hold a grudge for that long." She hoped that they weren't still holding a grudge.
