Ruty smirked and quickly jumped out of the way, catching her so that she didn't fall from the lack of contact. "Close." He said, laughing lightly.

Raven sighed, disappointed that she didn't manage to punch him, which sounded bad to her but was an appropriate thought for the scenario.
"I'll get you next time," she said with a teasing grin, lightening up a bit.

He nodded slowly and thought carefully about something totally unrelated to the current topic. Once she was done talking, Caesar snapped back into reality and replied. "Ah, Pier. Lovely name." He studied her features more carefully. Tall, long blonde hair with an interesting cloak on. Oh, interesting cloak, he thought maliciously to himself. Caesar shuffled closer the the girl and pretended to be interested in her origin. "So, where did the name 'Pier' come from?" As he waited for a response, he shuffled a little closer towards the cloak. Not so fast now, you'll startle her.

Pier gave Caesar an odd look as he got closer. "I'm not sure, but I know an American actress had the same name, she was in love with James Dean," she said shyly, putting her useless knowledge to some use. She gave Caesar another odd look and brushed some stray hairs behind her ear. No one has ever tried to steal her cloak before, so she didn't exact know what to look for when someone was trying to steal it.

Ruty smiled and put his fist out in front of him, rolling it forward. "Try swinging from the side- that way, if I duck out of the way, you can still come around and hit me, and use your knuckles- it hurts more." He said. "Now try again." He backed up a bit, getting into another defensive position.

"I find it strange that you're asking me to hurt you," Raven said with amusement.
Still, she followed his directions. She angled her fist in a way that would make her knuckles more prominent, and took a swing from the side.

Ruty jumped to the side, but felt her fist slam into his shoulder and he gritted his teeth, stumbling slightly. "I don't mind it, I'll start being more careful when your a pro though" he laughed. "That was a good one. Your getting better by the second." He said.

Raven was quite surprised at herself. She still couldn't help but feel a pang of guilt over hurting Ruty when he was already beat up.
"I thought this would be harder," she admitted. "I don't have much experience with this at all. Magic usually does everything I need it to from a distance."

Ruty shrugged, "It does get harder. I'm just showing you the ropes for now." He said. "Like I've said before, your going to have to work on all of these a lot. before you get really good at them." He stood straighter. "Now, offence. Swing a punch at my head." He said.
