Carmilla waved as the customer left, telling them sweetly to have a good day. She stood and stared at the windows after they had left, feeling the energy pressing against them. She snorted and giggled girlishly. Whoever was attempting to use magic must not have known about the wards.

Her mother had taught Carmilla how to make them; invisible sigils which rendered magicks useless in her home and shop. True, her own fire magic was weakened here as well, but she felt that the defense was worth it.
