rose baldwin is a twenty year old servant girl from the kingdom of mongolath. abandoned at birth due to being born premature and weak, rose was raised by a widow who had lost her own children and rose never knew the woman she called her mother was really adoptive. at the age of fourteen, rose lost her adoptive mother and got work as a serving girl, a lifestyle that suits her as she's one of those people who doesn't mind being seen and not heard. quiet, calm, and trustworthy, rose doesn't talk too much and is perfectly willing to listen to people's problems. on a more negative note, she tends to get embarrassed easily and when embarrassed becomes extremely awkward and clumsy, which is not good when she has pails of water or plates in her hands.

ᴘ ᴇ ʀ s ᴏ ɴ ᴀ ʟ ɪ ᴛ ʏ ⇢ Seraph is a polite, soft-spoken intellectual, often addressing his subordinates by their given names. He rarely shows any sign of alarm or distress, and often has entire situations planned out well in advance. Whenever confronted, Seraph is casual and uncaring, attempting to draw out a conversation and make small talk, which often infuriates those he is talking to.
Seraph initially appears to be a very kind, well-respected prince and is looked up to by many, especially his personal servant, Mary Harken. However, this is just a mask to disguise his manipulative, and very dangerous, nature. In truth, he cares very little for his underlings or anyone else except his brother William, and is willing to use almost everyone around him as pawns to achieve his goals. He is willing to stop at nothing to further his selfish ambitions, including manipulating or getting rid of anyone if he deems it to be necessary. He frequently toys with his underlings for amusement.
Seraph has a very convoluted personality. He suffers from a mild narcissistic personality disorder as he sees himself as a god-like and superior form of life, fit to decide who is worthy to live or die. He describes the majority of human kind as "poor dullards" and thrives on admiration, although he is careful to hide this facet of his personality under his charming and kind facade. Seraph is impeccably cultured and sophisticated despite his somewhat vicious tendencies.
He is an expert in psychology (though he does not believe it to be a science) and is able to frighten, manipulate and bend others to his will with mere words. He is also able to use his immense presence and commanding but subtle personality to great effect. His mental abilities are staggering, having created a memory palace. As such, he does not forget anything, able to revisit a specific memory whenever he wishes in one of the "rooms."
ʜ ɪ s ᴛ ᴏ ʀ ʏ ⇢ Seraph has lived in the lap of luxury his entire life, being the first born son of the king and the only possible successor to the throne until he was four. Even at such a young age, he was convinced that he was far above 'pigs of humanity', and was capable of manipulating those around him. When his brother was born, he was initially extremely displeased that another possible heir was around and had planned on getting rid of him somehow. He had been hoping that the baby would be a girl, because she could be married off to some noble or foreign prince. But when his brother was placed in his arms, he was surprised by the protective instincts that had risen up in his chest. After that day, Will became the only person that Seraph cared about, even if it was only a vague fondness in the beginning.
Growing up, Seraph honed his skills in manipulation and studied everything he could get his hands on, from sciences to weaponry, maths to literature. He also studied the laws of the various kingdoms and taught his brother how to protect himself. To everyone around him, he seems like a prodigy who is capable of just about anything he sets his mind too, perfection incarnate. They were never able to see the twisted darkness that lurked inside of him, not even his little brother.

ᴘ ᴇ ʀ s ᴏ ɴ ᴀ ʟ ɪ ᴛ ʏ ⇢ Will is generally pretty calm and easy-going, if not arrogant and prideful at times due to his upbringing. He is used to getting what he wants when he wants it, and is often spoiled by his brother and parents, but can be serious and understanding under the right circumstances. Will is a bit of a playboy, dating whoever catches his eye, male or female. He holds a quite a bit of resentment towards his parents who always told him he wasn't being perfect enough and would compare him to his brother.
Will is generally an open and warm individual, but he does have a hot-headed and rebellious streak, especially when people make the mistake of calling him 'Christy' after hearing Seraph call him that.
Will is well-respected and highly honorable, and always treats those around him with respect, even those who are weaker than he is. As a result, he can be easily approached by others who seek favors or advice from the noble. Due to his high moral code, he will never let any harm come to either his underlings or those who attempt to protect them. He refuses to give up when he believes something is wrong and will break a rule to do what is right. He is also quite perceptive, as seen when he analyzes the various disturbances caused by outlaws, and has the ability to correctly judge people's character, as noted by Seraph, and knows when they are lonely.
He has on occasion given people strange or unwanted gifts for no apparent reason. He also adores his elder brother, Seraph.
ʜ ɪ s ᴛ ᴏ ʀ ʏ ⇢ Growing up in his brother's shadow, Will tended to act out at times to get his parent's attention, whether positive or negative. As he got older, he realized that they would always only think of him as the second son, a spare. He started to focus on his brother instead, as Seraph was the only one who saw him as a person. This lead to his idolization of his brother, and in his eyes, Seraph can do no wrong. He fell prey to his brother's machinations, not realizing what the older boy was doing. Even if he were to find out, he would still stand by his brother.

ᴘ ᴇ ʀ s ᴏ ɴ ᴀ ʟ ɪ ᴛ ʏ ⇢ Cara thinks with her nerve endings. She not only wears her heart on her sleeve, she'll throw it at you if you're not paying attention. A rule-breaker by nature and a trouble-maker by preference, she nevertheless not only respects, but reveres the traditions and customs of her country. Few things are guaranteed to bring a tear to her eye more than hearing the national anthem and watching the flag go up the halyard. She's also loyal to a fault, and fiercely protective of her friends and family.
When things are good for Cara, you'll know it, because she'll be neatly dressed and everything, but she does not live a life full of good times...That being said, she does go through heck. A lot. Sometimes things get overwhelming for her, and you realize that watching strong people break down is worse than anything. And sometimes she takes all the heck she's getting from the world and channels it into her archery, which is no less scary than watching her break down, especially because her skills of discriminating need-to-kill vs. want-to-kill kind of deteriorate. But if you're on her side...well, it is hard not to cheer when she starts taking targets out with one shot.
It's a shame, but Cara's sweet moments often lead to trauma and heartbreak. She has been lied to, cheated on, abused, and betrayed the few times she has ever opened her heart to someone, and this has led her to become hardened, calloused, and, as some would say, out right mean at times.
ʜ ɪ s ᴛ ᴏ ʀ ʏ ⇢ Cara grew up in the middle-class part of the village. They were never rich, but they were never left wanting either. She lived a fairly happy life, but still worked hard to earn her way. After her parents died when she was 14, she left the village to work as a maid in the castle. After a few months, she was assigned to Prince Seraph and has been working for him ever since. She fell under his spell almost immediately, not believing that the kind older boy would toy with her for amusement.
