It is Midsummer in the Southern Kingdoms, and time for the Annual Masquerade de la Fantasia held in the most southern of the four kingdoms, Dypresia. Some like to pretend that this year will be like every other; royalty, nobility, and even a few commoners mixed together during a three night party where no one is ever truely themselves. Others believe that this year may be different; now that several members of the four royal families are near their coming of age and must soon find a partner. All still believe in the possibility of adventure, danger and even love.

♔ Rules & Form ♔

1) Follow Tess’ Rules. Of course.
2) Please try to write so that we can understand what you’re saying. I can understand a typo if you’re trying to speed write, but please, nothing ridiculous.
3) I’d like posts to be at least five sentences long. No one liners, please. No one can really RP with only one liners, it gets boring.
4) You can have as many characters as you can handle, but I ask that you make first a male and a female to start. Then, you can go from there.
5) Try to include everyone. It’s frustrating when you join an RP only to be unable to jump in to it.
6) I will not be giving you forms. Impress me with your creativity. They don’t need to be super complicated, but pretty is a nice bonus. If you want to borrow some elements from my form, that's fine with me, but please let me know ahead of time. I might even be able to help you out.
7) Please try to remember what time period that your character will be from. Appropriate names, ways of speaking, phrases, objects, peoples etc. should be in the back of your mind as you write. Otherwise everything will seem out of hand and we’ll all be time travelling all over the world.
8) Please be active! Only join if you have the intention of staying with it and actually posting.

Alexander was born of a noble family in Dypressia, the host kingdom of the Masquerade. At a young age he was fascinated by the spectacle; the glittering gowns, the silly masks, the beautiful music. His parents were just as enthralled with the night and made sure that he, along with his three older brothers, understood it's significance. Still, Alexander enjoyed many of the luxuries that his parent's position brought to him; a good education, training in combat and hunting and his choice of a career. While he has been informed that soon he'll have to take a bride, Alexander prefers to think of other things. With his free time, he likes to lounge with friends, whom he is fiercely loyal too. He can tend to be quite jealous of his older brothers, as often he feels left out and can be quite cynical about things. However, he is generous with time, resources and money, especially when it comes to helping friends.

Isabella was born as any princess was, to a King and Queen. She already had older siblings, so she became the baby of her family. Her mother adored her and doted on her heavily, making Isabella somewhat spoiled. Because of this she can be overly dramatic and is very strong in character. She adores playing card games and other activities that challenge her intellect. Her mother has gifted her many puzzles from travelling merchants that she likes to spend hours on at a time. Isabella's mother was very intent on spending time together as a family, while her father was less interested in such things. Due to such gatherings, she knows her family well and loves them dearly. Isabella is known as a very kind princess, showing empathy and understand to just about anyone she meets. However, around members of her parent's court, she is wary and nervous, wondering who might be lurking in the shadows, waiting to pounce.

Catherine's parents were prosperous trading barons, with a substantial say in the trades of whiskeys and silks. She is the only child of her parents, meaning that often times she was a lonesome child, as both parents were heavily involved with their trading operations. She had a nanny that taught her to be kind and compassionate with others, because everyone has their own challenges in life. She cherishes more memories of her than her parents. Catherine is a fairly intelligent woman, but her true genius is in clever, witty jokes and plots. She openly welcomes people to her home and loves to entertain. However, she is incredibly stubborn, and can be very silly as inappropriate times. Tripping over her feet is a constant problem, and she tends to worry about unimportant things.

Chance belongs to the town outside the palace in Alistair. His mother was a servant in the palace, and his father died at a young age, so he knows little of him. His mother was a busy, but loving woman who passed on a warm, tender caring for others to her son. At the tender age of eleven, he too was employed at the palace as a helper and apprentice to the king's body servant. He learned, slowly but surely until he was serving the prince himself instead of the king. Chance has a very mild personality; he is a willing and hard worker that an employer can depend on to get work done in a timely fashion. While he is passive, often times he is too much so, leading to his timidity and naivety. When others are not around, he can be very sarcastic. Otherwise he is a very curious person overall, with a desire to learn and find out about things, as he had no formal education and finds some things quite confusing.

♚ My favorite animal? I suppose it would be a wolf.
♚ My favorite hobby is archery, closely followed by what others describe as "sneaking around". I call it the art of unseen movement.
♚ Positive personality traits? I've been told that I can be a very good instructor, and I don't mind doing it. I'm a good listener, when I'm in the mood to listen, and some say that I am "hiding a heart of gold", though this seems a bit silly in my opinion.
♚ Negative traits, let me think. Well, many find me somewhat cold and even rude, and I can be quick to anger if you say the wrong thing. I am not as judgmental as people think I am, but I can be a little bit that way at times. I do come across as rude, I suppose, but that is only because I'm not overly fond of social interactions.
