Vlandore wrinkled his nose. "I've never done right by anyone. Up until a couple years ago, I couldn't even choose to like anyone. I hated everything, I couldn't trust. I was a mess." He shrugged. "So I've given meaning to my life by using the powers I developed from that virus to make sure no one I care about dies."

Sarusi nodded. "Yeah." She stood up, grunting softly. "Wanna just set up sleeping areas 'r d'ya wanna set up a fire too? I cin handle the fire if so."

Vlandore blinked, and smiled, laughing faintly. "Don't worry too much about it. As long as you're there for others, and can be a friend to them, that's more than enough meaning." He shrugged, "Or at least that's how I see it. Some people have Earth-shattering purpose, sure, but even the most insignificant seeming purposes are needed."

Sarusi nodded and handed Jack Verisna. "'Kay, you hold 'er again then while I get it set up." Verisna blinked and looked up at Jack, then pressed a paw against his chest.

Vlandore blinked at her question and tilted his head back, looking up at the sky. "Uuh... in an estimate? Oh, maybe a few hours." He looked down at her. "What happened, exactly, any ways?" He asked, furrowing his eyebrows.

Sarusi headed off to gather firewood and set up the area for the fire. Meanwhile Verisna looked around as she was set on Jack's lap, then looked up at him and tilted her head, giving a soft confused-sounding roar as she tilted her head. She leaned back, reaching up and swatting at his face, though wasn't able to actually reach it.

May eyes widened "hours!?!"her vocie squeaked she did hear the question but she was kinda shocked "so i left yall worried huh?"

Jack smiled"oh so thats how you want to play"he layed her on her back and played with her with one of his hands

Vlandore smiled sheepishly. "About three I think. We were worried, and Dusk was about the only thing keeping me from chasing after you. She said to wait a bit before assuming they killed you; we were gonna head out when you arrived." He chuckled. "So uh, they just took care of ya, huh? Guess it makes sense, you did save one of 'em from Rin."

Verisna blinked and roared in objection, flailing her front paws. She wrapped her paws around his arm and bit on his hand, but didn't use her claws for anything further than assisting her in holding his arm.

Jack smiled "grrrr"she said back shaking his arm up an down and started laughing

Vlandore laughed. "Well then that was a good idea on your part. Since you have a bond you'd be safe if they took you, especially since you're friends." He exhaled a sigh. "That's probably why Coruvus hasn't killed me yet. He's hurt me bad, but he hasn't killed me and I know he can."

Verisna snorted and shifted her head, roaring at him and shaking her head back and forth as she tried to keep a good hold down on him with her teeth.
Sarusi smiled at the two, laughing softly as she rose a wrist over the set up campfire, using her bracelets to ignite the fire. As it lit up, she moved back a bit, staring down at the small inferno before looking around, estimating how much time it might take to find something meat-based to eat.

May smiled "when i met marukuru he was going to kill silver but i got to their camp in time and saved her but he wasn't going to let us go but i think i changed his mind on what to think about us"
